Hawaiian Coasters 325
Not Orion related, but I really like this light package on a giga lift concept this guy made.

Maybe testing to see if they can stay on? Basic physics that wind pushing against your face will keep masks on.

FUN&ONLY!
I am still very intrigued about the opening of Orion and Area 72. I am still excited for the Orion soundtrack, the “pre-show” building, Orion’s light package, any additional theming, and the Meteor Canteen. Now that the park knows when they are opening, they are probably putting these final touches on. I cannot wait to see what it looks like.

I have a feeling that they may have cut some of the theming stuff they were planning on doing as part of the budget cuts. Not all of them. Just some. I still think there will be something neat in the Quonset Hut building.

FUN&ONLY!
You would also think the theming props were already in development too. Also, why would Kings Island install some of the theming and hold back on the rest of it. The lighting package has to have already been installed long ago. Also, the Orion soundtrack has likely been finalized for months now.

Unfortunately, I think it would be one of the easier things to cut. I sure hope I’m wrong, but I’m not that optimistic with so much capital getting eliminated in both 2020 and 2021. Even if it wasn’t cut, I seriously doubt it will be fully installed by whenever opening day is. The Notice of Commencement from 2018 listed Daniels Wood Land, and they’re based out of California. It took me almost a month to get a single book from Amazon; who knows how long it would take to ship potential props or other elements from California?

It’s the amusement industry where big bucks are on the line for an investment like this, I’d assume even with all that’s going on rn, they still try to get everything in and ready...

In response to your 1st point, hopefully it would be something to incorporate in later seasons if and when the chain is able to spend the money In response to your 2nd point, if it is indeed already paid for and might not get installed even when the ride debuts, at least its something extra to look forward to down the road
Hawaiian Coasters 325
I believe they added some extra theming stuff to Yukon Striker this off season since they couldn't get it all done in time last year. I could be wrong though, but I think I remember Amusement Insiders talking about some extra theming coming to Yukon Striker this year.
SonofBaconator
Heck Mystic Timbers had some additional theming added to the station throughout the course of the 2017 season if I remember correctly
