Dane Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Check out these beautiful shots of Paramount's Kings Island covered in snow. Big thanks to Steve for the shots. Click here for to view. Quote
Pirate of PKI Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Those are some cool photos indeed, espcially the Action Zone sign. Quote
Fo-Shame Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Hmmm, could this mean new construction photos coming soon too. Quote
Delirium13 Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Cool Pictures! it's Funny looking at everything covered in snow. Quote
King Bowser Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Fricken Sweet!!! I love those pictures ''walking in a winter wonderland'' Quote
UncleHenry Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Which "Steve" do we have to thank for these great pics? Quote
TopThrill Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 I don't know if you could but, I couldn't see The Racer Yes those pictures are good. How you do get into the park like that? Quote
PKI_Diana Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 I wonder if the fish are removed when the pond freezes, or if they survive the cold winter in the water? Quote
SOB_TOM Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Yeah when I got in this morning to my shop, Beast blended in perfectly with the trees. It was really cool lookin. Quote
Jasper Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Those photos are cool. The one i like the most is The Racer. It is awesome! Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Which "Steve" do we have to thank for these great pics? The lovely and talented Steve Boehmker, of course! Thanks Steve! Quote
DeliriumDreamer Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 I just saw the pics now- wow! I have to agree, The Racer pics look really awesome yet surreal. The path that we all have once trod to get to The Beast or scooters is now covered with snow and tire tracks. Quote
KIBeast Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 "I wonder if the fish are removed when the pond freezes, or if they survive the cold winter in the water?" PKIDiana, I'm not sure about all fish, but I know some definitely can survive the frozen water. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 They should run a train down there and see if it stalls! Quote
PKIDelirium Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 On Racer? The trains are currently in stacks of panels, buckets of bolts, and piles of lap bars. Quote
TRTR Guy Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Just put a snow plow on front of the train and clear the track off. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 PKIDiana, I'm not sure about all fish, but I know some definitely can survive the frozen water. I'm not an expert, but from what I understand, any fish that lives around here can survive in the pocket of water that is under the late. It's very unlikely that the entire pond would be frozen from the top to the ground. On Racer? The trains are currently in stacks of panels, buckets of bolts, and piles of lap bars. Actually, it could be anywhere in the rehab process by now! Just put a snow plow on front of the train and clear the track off. They should add one of those pointy things that they had on the front of trains that were intended to deflect cows. It would probably work for snow too. Quote
jzarley Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 These are gorgeous pics! They remind me of my one of my favorite pics of The Beast under construction in the snow. (It's in one of my many coaster books...can't recall which one.) I think my favorite is actually #6...the walkway along side of Vortex. The picture feels "silent", if that makes any sense at all. It makes you feel like you're really there. Imagine riding The Racer covered in snow like that? <G> Talk about no brakes!! Joel Quote
CoastersRZ Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Yes, those pictures are pretty nice. I too liked the shot down the shaded path by Vortex that leads to the Rivertown Pizza area. Quote
familyman Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 Great photography! I loved the shot looking through the loop of The Vortex. It’s about time we have some winter shots of the greatest park. Thanks again! Quote
TRTR Guy Posted February 4, 2005 Posted February 4, 2005 On Racer? The trains are currently in stacks of panels, buckets of bolts, and piles of lap bars. Actually looking at This pic it appears that there is already a train on Backwards Racers side track covered up. Quote
HabloRM Posted February 5, 2005 Posted February 5, 2005 Those photos are cool. The one i like the most is The Racer. It is awesome! I agree. Quote
TRTR Guy Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 How did you get those? I'd imagine he walked around the park with a camera and took pictures, another employee benefit. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 How did you get those? I'd imagine he walked around the park with a camera and took pictures, another employee benefit. The pics were sent to us by Steve Boehmker, who works PR for the park. You may remember him as the creator of the scavanger hunts for The Beastbuzz and Fall Freakout events. He kindly took the time out of his day to walk through the blistering cold to get these pics for all of you to enjoy. Quote
