PkiJake13
Do you think PKI could replace Top Gun with a inverted coaster. It could be themed to Top Gun as well, it could be custom inverted coaster. It would be newer and would be more popluar then the current Top Gun is. Plus PKI needs an adult inverted coaster, and it would be cool to go thru the woods with your feet dangling. What do you think? -Jake
PKI Punk
Did you get the idea from the new PKD survey? I would love to see Top Gun changed to an inverted coaster. That would be bad @$$.
PkiJake13
Yah, it got me thinking how we need an inverted coaster and our first B&M. -Jake
UncleHenry
I want that new Top Gun idea! A tilt coaster mixed with a flying coaster! INSANE! Oh, and for those who do not know what a tilt coaster is, I wouldn't be surprised. There is only one in the world, and its not in the USA. PkiJake13
Heres a link to the tilt coaster, it is in Japan and is named Gravity Max. I wouldn't mind having onf them eithier, as long as it was longer and more involved. I also like the flyer tilt too. http://www.rcdb.com/quicksearch.htm?quicksearch=Gravity+Max -Jake
AZ Kinda Guy
Could they? Yes. Will they? No BTW, PKI has an adult inverted coaster. It's called Face/Off.
CYoung2003
Yeah, there are still tons of fans of the current Top Gun we have now. Even though it is short, its still a kick ass ride in my opinion, also its one of my favorites to ride. I dont think its going anywhere for quite sometime. flightoffear1996
I would like to have a launched inverted off an air caft carrier and have it leave smoke behind after in launches. I couldn't see it happening though.
Captain Picard
Carowinds has this coaster. I have been on both of them and one is not much better than the other. If they put in a copy of Montu as Top Gun it be worth it. If they did one like Carowinds has it would not.
KIBeast
AZ Kinda Guy, I think the people here mean a full circuit inverted coaster like Raptor at Cedar Point. PKI needs a B&M inverted.
Coney_man
AZ Kinda Guy, I think the people here mean a full circuit inverted coaster like Raptor at Cedar Point. PKI needs a B&M inverted. The Raptor is Pretty darn awesome by my perspective. By all means We need one really bad
flightoffear1996
Yea the Raptor is pretty good specially for being nine years old and it is still ruling the sky.
TheKlockster
Considering how those ideas were on the PKD survey, and that PKD is the only park without a Top Gun, I doubt we will be getting either of them. We can only hope that we will get a nice B&M Invert or something down the road - maybe when Vortex dies... But I hope that is a long ways off... flightoffear1996
Inverts are really popular but I dont see PKI getting one but I would really wish they get ride of the top gun and put a invert in there. That would go good with the Top Theme since fighter planes do go upside down!
CoastersRZ
As said before, PKI has an inverted coaster in the form of Face Off. Why would PKI scrap Top Gun, one of the best suspended coasters built by Arrow and still popular among guests? I really don`t see PKI adding a full circuit inverted coaster anytime in the near future.
TheKlockster
Besides - what about Runaway Reptar? It is a decent ride. It's not extreme or anything - but I enjoy riding it.
AZ Kinda Guy
I swear, you people just don't get it. PKI does not need a B&M Inverted when we have Face/Off and Top Gun! I see some good cleanup conversations in the making.
TheKlockster
We don't need one, but I think it would be cool. Especially a flier. Face/Off is an awesome ride, and a good invert. So is Rugrats. But we will be getting some kind of new BIG coaster in the up coming years. Vortex, FoF and Top Gun wont last forever. And something is going to replace them. And from a business standpoint - it only makes sense to replace a major coaster with another major coaster or kick ass flat. So when the time comes - we will need some kind of new major coaster. Skycaptain would make a good B&M invert or Vekoma SLC. And both Adams Family and The Core would be appropriate themes for a Dive machine. Me - I would like to see another big wood coaster. Five woodies isn't enough!
dxrunner
As sparky said, it would be awesome but will it happen, no. To bad we dont make the decisions, otherwise everyone would have what they wanted
teenageninja
If we made the decisions we'd have what we wanted not the general public. I'd like to see both Top Gun's as much as anyone, but unless they rethemed one of them (Top Gun:Supersonic please) it's not going to happen. I'll be truly sad when they remove ours. TRTR Guy
Perhaps he counted The Racer as 2 coasters which is a whole nother issue, or Adventure Express as a wooden coaster (Which even though its a wood coaster maintenance ride its a steel coaster)
Vortex
Top Gun: Supersonic Flying Tilt coaster looks good. I don't think PKI will see it. I do think its odd that Paramount Parks have made a 3d model of the coaster for PKD or the other Paramount Parks.

Why REPLACE any of them? Take a look at Corkscrew & Gemini at Cedar Point, both are nearing their 30th anniversaries in 2006 & 2008. Both outdating ANY steel coaster at PKI by far. Why remove Top Gun or Vortex at this point? Here is a concept that seems to be lost on PKI.......EXPAND the park and stop REPLACING. Kings Island used to have one of *the* best collection of rides at any park. Sadly, I find the collection rather disappointing these days. I so desperately would love to see the Park expand and build up its collection like it used to be....whether it be thrill rides or family rides. - Todd

I doubt it's so much that they'd have to expand, but rather that it gets expensive to maintain the rides after several years.

TheKlockster
Yes, I consider Racer and recaR different coasters. They are different experiences. I get a different ride on recaR as I do on Racer. I know RCDB counts it as one - but what I am saying is that there are five different wooden roller coaster experiences you can have. I would like seven or eight.
