Coney new attraction announcement.

I would love the casino next door to add a roller coaster just to poke fun at coney's decision, something akin to the big apple coaster where it's just the one ride. It would be infinitely more intriguing than the entirety of coney at it's current state.

Just visited their site to see if they’ve updated it to reflect these “anticipated” additions. Literally one line of copy on their home page that easily missed if you’re not looking for it.

On a side note, I noticed this:

I find it hilariously ironic that they have a beautiful, historic venue that was literally built to host Big Band concerts that’s currently being neglected/used for storage. Sigh.

For the life of me, I simply do not understand their move to get rid of the rides. I know the pool is a draw, but my family specifically would visit Coney and have passes just for the rides. We'd go to KI or Holiday Worls for a fun day in the water. We had passes every year, but their decision to get rid of the rides changed that. Being close to the park, it was a fun afternoon of bumper cars, a ferris wheel, a fun small coaster and everything else on the dry side with beautiful trees and the lake. I'd like to know how the decision was made to just get rid of all that.

So, if they pave the parking lot next season...would that be considered an additional attraction to release to the press......LMAO.

I was down past Kellog Avenue today and noticed a crowd....thats right, people there for Summerfair...nothing else.

I would love to see them add even a couple of non-water rides. I realize this will most likely never happen as they made their decisions, but even if they had a few pay-per attractions like say a family style go-kart track and a speed track for more serious kart racers. Maybe a sling-shot ride or sky coaster. A 3/4-D theater. Just something else to do for those that may not care to spend their day in the water. And if those kinds of attractions were added, run like a specials day for those pay per attractions in the case of "$40 ride all you want from 4-8" or a set wrist band price after hours.

Coney actually did do a ride tickets thing up until the mid to late 2000s (2008 or 2009 maybe?), where you could purchase individual tickets or an all-day rides band. That sort of thing could still work out for them if done properly - even though such a concept is pretty foreign to most amusement park guests these days (except for those living in/around Elysburg, PA...)
