DeLorean Rider
If you look on the FAQ section of the PKI.com winterfest area, it says that Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle will open as Scooby Doo and the Christmas Caper. I wonder if and what they will change about it. Maybe someone stole all of the christmas presents and Scooby Doo has to solve the mystery to get them back. TOPGUN1993
Change all the $$$$$$$to Presents. LOL
Scooby_Doo
I really dont know as a die-hard scooby fan it will most likely be to something of that degree or maybe something else
CoastersRZ
My educated guess would be that they will add Christmas decorations and lights to the ride. Nothing too extravagent. But a change from the normal Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle, nonetheless.
familyman
As long as there is heat I am sure it will be ok. It's one of only a few rides so I can only imagine the lines. Add some new music....decorations...and you have something to do with the kids.
Jasper
That will be awesome if they do that but i am sure it will have a long line being the only ride ipen and all. i wonder what HB Land will look like then?

For most of WF, I imagine construction will be mostly out of sight.
TheKlockster
It probably means the employees will be wearing santa hats, or there will be some ornamental garland at the ride entrance.
CoastersRZ
Yes, I believe that most of the construction in HBL will be out of site. However, Animation Station will be used to house Santa, so you will be able to get deep into HBL. I would imagine any construction will still be out of site for the most part from guests vantage points. As for Scooby Doo, I belive that there may be a little bit more than just decorations at the entrance and festively dressed ride operators. Only time will tell. CoastersRZ
Yes, I wasn`t referring to a retheme. Instead I was referring to some decorations scattered about the actual ride itself. A couple strands of lights and garland here and there, maybe some santa hats and such on some of the cut outs. A little extra eye candy in addition to the normal SDatHC. CoastersNSich
I'm happy that this also answered the question I had about Bubba Gump's operating in winter temperatures...
Gordon Bombay
^Maybe SDATHC will receieve a new storyline with recordings of shaggy and such explaining the story behind the christmas caper........thus setting you up for a brand new experience. While yes, the cardboard theming is tacky, its probablyreally easy to tear it out and put in some other theming of the same material....so maybe this christmas caper thing will be like a whole new ride experience. CoastersRZ
Don`t get your hopes up for new props and sountrack for the Christmas Caper. While there will most definantly be decorations of some sort, the only other change might be them adding in some Christmas music in the background of the soundtrack. Other than that, expect the same ride experience.
flightoffear1996
^ I hope so but I really doubt they would do all that.

Scooby_Doo
That doesnt bother me none SDaTHC is my favortie ride at the park and everytime I ride it ..it's different.
TheKlockster
I am sure that when they theme it to Christmas - the theming will be nothing more than like a Christmas tree and some presents. They will keep it general and secular - not go into any religions. A manger would offend some people, and an menorah would offend some people. They will hopefully keep it totally secular with Santa Claus and presents and stuff like that. After it is Winterfest not Christmasfest or Hannukahfest. CoastersRZ
Didn`t they have a live nativity scene at the original Winterfest, in the Paramount Story/ Tower Gardens, by the waterfall? Yes, it is Winterfest. Not Christmasfest. As the days go by, I am looking forward to Winterfest more and more!

Scooby_Doo
Isnt PKI calling the Haunted Castle Scooby Doo and the CHRISTMAS caper for winterfest??? then it makes sense to have Christmas-y feel to the Haunted Castle.I know when WinterFest first started they had a nativity scene and back then it had more of Christmas feel to it. DonaldMacRonald
Think about it though, Its all wood and cardboard, from what I've heard they could just make new ride stuff in the sign warehouse where they make the signs for the park. Think about what they did for fearfest in 2000, they changed PT pretty majorly just for four weekends, winterfest is a bigger deal than that, I'll bet that we see some noticable changes about the ride itself.
