Shman
I think the Paramount story would make a good scare zone/ haunted maze for Fear Fest even though it's too late for that this year. Actually it was tried in the first couple of years of FearFest. They tried a scarezone in there and a scare zone down the brick wall area leading from Vortex down to The Beast. The Paramount Story one did not work too well.
RailRider
Neither did the one down by Vortex.
KIBeast
Interpreter, that is way too funny! I would like Cedar Fair to keep using the Paramount Story without the Paramount crap in it. It would still make a nice, serene place to get away.
Jasper
If i remember correctly didn't the fright zone that was between The Beast and The Vortex have like hay bails in it and they had netting over them and when you walked through you had to like dodge them and when you did people jumped out from like behind them? I think i remember that from i beleive it was the 01 or 02 season.
CoastersRZ
Actually, I never remember hearing about the Paramount Story area being used as a FearZone. I`ve been to every one except the very first FearFest, and never remember such a thing. But I could be wrong.
HelixSpiral
I think the Paramount Story would make a good spot for the ride formerly located at IJ...

king_cobra_27
I agree with everyone who believes that Paramount has ruined the incredible feel that once graced the International Street and Royal Fountain. To me, even the massive Paramount Logo was an instant disappointment as soon as I walked into the park. Ironically enough, Paramount did not completely destroy the International Street at the sister park, Kings Dominion. It would be an excellent reference to look at if the concept to bring the former glory back to Kings Island's I. Street should ever be considered by Cedar Fair. And on top of walking in and seeing one movie commercial after another while walking down international street, a guest is then subject to a beautiful garden that is ruined with movie props, and a walk through that I think stopped being funded after "Titanic" All of those props, (Especially the Enterprise) are just kind of wasting away. But at least the park finally stopped playing the paramount story recording 2 years ago, which was so old that it stopped with "Waynes World" And as if this was not enough, Kings Island was meant to face just one more catastrophe under it's former owner.....The removal of the rather attractive pond, and bridge, and open grass, and well EVERYTHING that made up the Old Time Cars. And only to make way for one of the crappiest looking roller coasters that I have ever seen, sitting on a concrete jungle. This ride is what now needs to be tore to the ground, and the concrete removed to make way for a nice relaxing garden. In my opinion: Demolition of Old Time Cars/FearFest's Route 666 + Building of Italian Job: Stunt Track= One of the top 5 worst decisions ever made by owners of Kings Island K.C. CoastersRZ
Explain to me how exactly did Paramount ruin International Street? By installing the parks logo at the base of the Royal Fountain? Personally, I think that creates a very photogenic spot for families to take pictures, much like the location of the FearFest logo. And what are you talking about "seeing one movie commercial after another"while walking down I-Street? There are no televisions on I-Street, and honestly, I don`t recall ever seeing much advertisments for movies on I-Street. Yes, I will give you the fact that the location they choose for Italian Job was very poor. And it ruined the whole center of the park as a greenspace. But I think that the ride was a nice family friendly addition to the park. Torn to the ground and replaced by a garden? Last time I checked, a garden doesn`t exactly bring in the guests and money to an amusement park.
ragerunner
I agree with CoasterRZ, While there are things that I thought Paramount could have done better, just like I am sure we will find problems with Cedar Fair's owership at times (check out the forums for some of the Cedar Fair parks - there a lot of issues and dislikes discussed on these as well). I don't see how they ruined International Street. They kept things in good shape, and how did they destroy the gardens by adding some paramount movie props? During Paramounts ownership they constructed some great attractions, Nick Universe, TR, FofF, Delirium, Wild Thornberrys redue of the log flume (my kids love this ride) and yes IJ (I agree the locations was not the best). It should be interesting on these forums over the next few years to see if many of the Cedar Fair lovers are still in love with Cedar Fair in about five years from now. As a KI fan, I hope so, but I am not sold on Cedar Fairs current job at their other parks.
Gordon Bombay
I agree with everyone who believes that Paramount has ruined the incredible feel that once graced the International Street and Royal Fountain. Yeah, what a**holes for completely renovating the fountains and what MASSIVE paramount logo? It said Kings Island in big bold letters and a paramount logo on top that didnt block any view, kill anyone, or cause climate change in southeast asia. Rollerzach
i think its going to be a ride arie in 2007-2008 (i mean new rides there)
flightoffear1996
Really I think Paramount did a great job until recently. They added Flight of Fear, Dropzone and Face/Off which are all rides that I love and draw me to the park. I think Paramount Story may become a ride but I hope Cedar Fair can turn it into a nice walk threw area for those people who don't like to ride the rides or people that just want to take a break from them. marlfox_21
It would be really sweet if they made it a museum of the history of the park, starting with Coney Island. This would only be effective however, if they did it respectably and honestly.
westcoaster
This would be great all the way back to coney island closing and Kings Island opening to its current state even the paramount years . The area would be nice and relaxing and it would have a picture of every ride ever operated at Kings Island , Maybe even some concepts that never got off the board:
Shaggy
On the flip side, it's bad from a PR standpoint. Would the park really want to showcase the fact that many, many, many rides have been removed? Shaggy
coastergirl
They kind of did the same thing for Fearfest. They had tombstones with all of the names of rides from the past. If they were willing to put names on tombstones with the dates they were opened and closed they may not care about how many rides were taken out over the years.
Cory Butcher
yeah I dont really think that effects PR, sure some fanboys could still be ticked that King Cobra is gone, but most people realize that it is the nature of the Biz.
Ensign Smith
That's a great idea, marlfox. I always liked the waterfall area, even before it got turned into the Paramount Story. As long as it's done tastefully and not garishly, I think it would be very nice and much more appropriate to an amusement park that's 2,000 miles away from Hollywood. AintNutinElse2Do
At Dollywood on your way up to THUNDERHEAD and soon MYSTERY MINE (which I think will be the best ride of 2007) On the right there is a huge section of a tree trunk with the history of Dolly and Dollywood represented by the rings of the tree. I've always thought that was a great thing. So the suggestion to turn the Paramount Story area into The Kings Island Story I'm all for it. Yeah I could think of some great rides that they could throw in there. Unfortuanately though there has to be stuff other than rides too I guess. WooferBearATL
Maybe time to call the area what it really is: Tower Gardens.
Ensign Smith
Or maybe they could call it the Enchanted Story. And stick in a giant snail.
westcoaster
Maybe build a new building devoted to Kings Island a ride that last about 15-20 minutes and ride through a building with all the artifacts and history of Coney/Kings Island: with video footage of The Beast, the wild animal habitat's , the scrappy slides, the construction of The Beast: Kings Island deserves this kind of Museum Kings Island has a lot of firsts:

KI-ORIG-EMP
I second something like a museum to show case the history of Kings Island. Mike
jzarley
I would rather see maybe a musem like the one at Cedar Point. Everytime I go to CP I go into the museum... I'm not sure why exactly, as it hasn't really changed in the last fifteen years or so as far as I can tell. Of course, Cedar Point has a lot more history than KI...basically, 100 more years worth. I agree with Woofer on this one...take out the movie props, add some real landscaping, and just make it the Tower Gardens again.
raptor
I would rather see maybe a musem like the one at Cedar Point. i've never seen the museum at cp as many times as I've been there, what exactly is it? where is it?
The Interpreter
Town Hall Museum A museum at an amusement park? When you meander into Cedar Point's Town Hall Museum, located in Frontiertown, you may think a time machine took a wrong turn. Not to fear: you've just stumbled upon the 135-year history of the second oldest amusement park in the country! With a rich and storied heritage dating back to 1870, Cedar Point proudly showcases such artifacts as treasured postcards, photographs, plaques and memorabilia that reflect the tradition and character of the historic park. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/seni...attractions.cfm
