experienced them for the first time last night... i really do not think they make much of a difference in the ride at all. they are just there for safty, and as a precaution do to all the accidents lately. no big deal, they dont bother me at all, i dont think they ahve an effect either way.

The only thing that i have noticed them doing was that i have forgot it being there and tried to stand up before taking the seatbelt off, wasnt good. and that it slows down the loading process, i dont feel any more secure because of it. yet i am 5'7'' 130lbs so that might make a difference

I'm 6'2 205lbs, so I'm a big guy as is, and I don't see a problem with them at all. I don't even notice them on the ride itself... and yes, I've tried to stand up before detaching the belt.. it hurts a little, but it's more embarrassing than anything.

Take a ride in the very backseat of The Beast, you won't even notice you have a seatbelt on.

Because you'll be in too much pain to care.

My fiancee and I rode last seat based on someone's suggestion we were chatting with in line...we both carried bruises for a few days (not exaggerating).

Wow- having only ridden Beast for the first time in 2009, I thought the seatbelts were added in the 90's or something, not the 2000's. Also worth noting looking through this thread...

-Vortex also has seat belts now as a backup to the OTSR, so Italianchef got his wish. This had to have been between 2005-2008 because when I rode in 2009, it had them.

-Diamondback was built in 2009, ran w/o seat belts until 2013, and then got them in 2014...ironically a decade after Beast...

-BLSC and The Bat have both LOST their seat belts in recent years

I think I remember The Racer having seatbelts in 2000 when I rode it, but am not 100% sure on that.
