Paramount Parks web sites have changed

Featured Replies

FYI,

All former Paramount Parks web sites have been changed. There is no reference to Paramount and the main web navigations have been re-worked.

Looking good...

Hopefully they plan on updating the rest of the site, though. As of now it's a huge mash-up of the "new" parks on the header and footer of the page with all of the old content in the middle. Though I really wouldn't be surprised if they did update the rest of the pages soon...they seem to be neglecting a lot of the content on quite a few pages and I doubt that is by accident. Hopefully this isn't the last of the major changes on the site...but I doubt it will be.

The one thing I am kind of disappointed with is they are making all the former PP sites 'cookie-cutter.' I was hoping they'd give each site its own personality without each having the exact same header, footer, and graphics/layouts all over the sites.

Well, keep in mind that all former Paramount parks will be in transition for the next 2-3 seasons. The local paper this past Monday, had an article in the business section talking about the removal of Paramount logo from Kings Dominion. The reporter asked when the big sign next to interstate 95 will be altered. The park's spokesperson stated that the sign would not be changed in 2007 and that the park will be in transition for the next couple of years.

Right...Things likes signs will take awhile to change. A website update could easily occur this season...and it looks like they are on their way to doing so. All I'm saying is I hope they don't half-ass it by making the sites cookie-cutter and mash-ups of their PP and CF identities.

I dislike the header background. It looks rather bland with just the two rides and mostly hills and trees. It will be interesting to see how the websites evolve over the next couple of months.

Yeah, I hope they do totally re-design the websites eventually. But it's about darn time that they replaced the Paramount Parks-style logos with the new Cedar Fair ones. Now if they could take out the Paramount name from the title bar!

I hope the title bar is only temporary. I seriously hope they do something like CP Title bar make it move show the rides exc. hey but that's just me.

The top's too plain, instead of just rides and hills and a couple of flags it needs somethings that are from the park. Like the Eiffel Tower, Drop Zone, Delirium, and a few more rollercoasters. But it is nice to see the websites finally change.

Also, if you click on Rides & Attractions on the left-hand side you'll see an advertisement for a 2006 Gold Pass with the old logo and everything (well at least thats what comes up for me). That's probably a sign that they are still doing some work on it.

Anyone notice the left side of the copyright line is wrong?

2007 Cedar Entertainment Company

Seems they left a word out...

They got it right on the right side...

Yikes, that is a slightly major error! I also find it interesting that they seem to be doing the web upgrade over a series of iterations, rather than simply rolling out a brand new website once it is completed.

You have to understand how the website is managed. It uses a content wrapper system, the header and footer can be changed rather easily. Much like these forums.

Yay! *throws confetti all over the new page*

While I think, yeah, it could be more personalized, it looks good to me!

Oh, and when we were on 275 E the other day and getting ready to exit on 71, the P word was gone from the Kings Island sign. (Don't know if this is old news or if it's always been gone...but I just moved.)

That sign, just after the bridge over Sharon Woods lake, has always just said "Kings Island." It's never said "Paramount's."

So how long till all of the old Paramount parks get the 2007 map online? I know all of the old Cedar Fair parks already have most of up and running. The only thing I wish was a online store like Cedar Point has on the web-page.

Give it some time. I`m sure that if the online stores are profitable at the other parks, that they will eventually put similar stores onlinbbe for the former Paramount Parks.

It's a step in the right direction. I'm pleased that the homepage reflects the new owner and look forward to it being fully updated.

Have a great weekend!

I find it interesting that the middle of the home page looks exactly the same as it did previously(for now anyway). I have a hunch that more changes are in the mix for the website.

Why overhaul the website completely when you don't have too? Seems like an easy job just to add some new images and then go in and change as needed.

Well, it seems that Cedar Fair has updated their main website to reflect the loss of the Paramount name from the former Paramount Parks. See for yourself here.

Looks like they noticed the same footer error that has been fixed and the title now reads Kings Island (minus the P word).

The push was prolly last minute so they looked over a few areas. i like the new change, i look forward to seeing the change in park as well.

Let those who think what they post here is not read take heed.

As you noted, the websites now read Cedar Fair Entertainment Company in the footer.

I have no doubt that these words are read, for good or ill.

:)

Thanks!
