  1. Unless I'm mistaken Vekoma built new trains for an Arrow Suspended Swinging. So if I had to guess it would be Vekoma. thats what i said earlier Something like: Vampire I thought Top Gun was supposed to get these trains after one of them hit a truck sitting below the track... or at least it was a rumor.
  2. Those are the best. I usually try to stay in line as long as possible. Especially since the line for Firehawk is normally at least 45 minutes. But my family and I have been at Disney before where Test Track broke down while we were in line and we waited it out with about 20-30 others. After a while and it still wasn't fixed we were all given passes to come back later and enter the ride through the exit. It was pretty awesome.
  3. seems to me that the signs at cp always say 15 minutes, even when the line is way past the sign. Disney, I believe, uses RFID to track it's wait times. While my family and I were in line for Soarin' at EPCOT, we were handed a lanyard with a plastic card attached which we were told to hand to the cast member at the end of the line.
  4. Technically, inflation adjusted, we're not ridiculously above the price of gas in 1918. (yes it's several months old but I couldn't find anything more recent) Realistically speaking, the red inflation adjusted line should be a straight horizontal line and the black average gas price line should be a straight gradually sloping line from 1918 to meet the 2008 price.
  5. Haha, it's okay. As long as someone appreciates the humor.
  6. I am listening to the In The Loop podcast from the "11th" and said guest from KIC didn't answer his phone.
  7. Depends what you define as stadium seating. MF is offset vertically or tiered. Diamondback/Behemoth is offset horizontally (and I guess vertically. It's kind of hard to tell in the animation). I believe that stadium seats are offset both vertically and horizontally for the most unobstructed view.
  8. For those of you that didn't know, ring°racer I haven't seen it on ABCNews.com yet. I don't know if they post videos of their GMA segments or not, but there is a brief video about DB on their site: ABCNews Direct link http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=5536020
  9. Yeah, definitely better than anything dealing with Walmart or any type of relative to The Beast. Skull on Fire + Snake = crazy delicious
  10. So I got off work early (2:00) Friday and didn't have another commitment till 5:45. Obviously, I went to KI since I have yet to visit since the announcement. The first thing I did when I entered the park was go to the model set up. All I had with me was my phone but the pictures still look pretty good. Station: Train Kept A Rollin': And I must say that it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood: So after I watched the train make its paces twice, I walked through NickU to get to the Diamondback Stage. I took a couple pictures there and then started to walk toward The Beast to get a better view of the splash down area. As I made my way around the fence, I noticed new Diamondback signs which no one else had talked about. I took pictures of all of them. As I was trying to send the pictures to my brother, I walked back to the Diamondback Stage sat down. I glanced up for a second from my phone and look to my right and who do I see walking to the employee break area but Captain Nemo. Unfortunately, he didn't recognize me at first but he'd really only know me from a couple instances. I was at the KIC Event last year and more notably I printed out the plans for then Rumor Coaster 2009 the day Dayton Daily News released them and, seeing the Captain working The Beast, flashed them to him. As we relived this story, he proclaimed to me that he didn't realize those were on the news. After a nice conversation in which he told me to visit Dollywood to ride Mystery Mine ("better than Maverick" he insisted) and ride The Beast and write this TR, he and a female coworker made their way to the break area. I made my way over the the Crypt's exit to snag some pictures. Some new X's appeared: There were some random dudes walking around the construction site: So I ended up taking the Captain's advice and riding The Beast. Amazing as always. I got a couple more shots and left the park around 4:00. Overall it was a good day. Panorama: And let's not forget the linkage... http://picasaweb.google.com/welchce/20080808
  11. Yeah, the important part is that it builds interest in and excitement about the ride. When I visited the park on the 8th, people were lining the window when I arrived and when I left.
  12. Disney has some pretty good experience animals. Their largest theme park is dedicated to animals. And the only audioanimatronic figures there are of extinct/mythical animals. And the center piece of the park is? A fake tree made from an oil rig. which has a theater with a 3D show inside of it. I think it's a pretty ingenious idea to use an oil rig to house a theater inside a tree which has thousands of animals carved into its outside. Are you also going to point out that the Epcot ball isn't an actual golf ball? So you're saying that the themeing on say, Montu... That's actual bricks of limestone from Egypt? And where's all the real snow themeing Alpengeist? The only park in Florida that I think I remember hearing uses Styrofoam is the Dr. Seuss land at Universal.

  14. Yeah, I already looked there and they don't have anything listed about Kings Island.
  15. Those signs on the fence were there at about 2:45 on the 6th. They were very fast in changing those out. I just didn't remember hearing anyone say anything about them. Does anyone know when the sign on the Eiffel Tower went up?
  16. First I'd like to say great report and great photos. It's good to see we have another person that's seen the light on how fun Avatar is lol At first I missed the reference about the "pay" part since it is right next to a pay attraction. But then I remembered the final lift hill. As I have said many times, the first drop on The Vortex in the back is breathtaking. I agree. Something about that grease smell makes the world seem right. First, I think Flight Deck has a good pace but I guess that's your opinion. Second, if you thought Flight Deck was a pitiful suspended coaster, then don't ride Iron Dragon at Cedar Point. Once again, great report and pictures.
  17. My name is Christopher. My brother's name (ThaneOfPriceHill) is Kevin.
  18. Sorry it took so long but here are the pictures. I should have a TR up sometime soon. I wasn't going to but someone requested it... http://picasaweb.google.com/welchce/20080808
  19. Yeah I got a picture of that as well. I just have to work tonight so they'll be posted at one am at the latest.
  20. I'm at the park right now and they added new black signs that have the Diamondback logo and a random stat like 10 drops or 80 mph. I emailed the pictures to my brother so hopefully he'll be able to load them before I get home around midnight tonight
