The postings on the new fencing have been identified on Twitter this morning............... Check out this picture "Brandon Winkle" tweeted earlier.... pic.twitter.com/wVckonhJfa14 points

Picture time! It's good to be back! The entrance - doesn't look to busy because I took this on my way out. Hello Eiffel Tower. I'm pretty sure this is new ... maybe I'm not remembering correctly? The Bier Garten looks awesome! I love the pond's fountain. As you can tell from the picture above, new fencing outlines the rest of the pond. Reds Hall of Fame and Grille's back patio, overlooking Diamondback. If you look closely, you can see the crazy long line ... taken at 9:30am ... Simple Diamondback first drop picture ... The Beast's line extending outside the queue. Action Zone's new banners and lack of a water tower looks nice. ...and last but not least, the mysterious fence around Thunder Alley (or, what used to be) A closer look...10 points

I don't think people understand that height is just an extraneous novelty. Ride experience really is not affected by height. What makes Maverick so successful? It's not height.6 points

Indelible. They finally get decent ink again, and now you don't need it....with a pass. Terp, holder of a Kings Island Platinum Pass (wonder if it will work at Kings Dominion...or even Carowinds? I may even try other parks, and still force the issue! It's not VooDoo! Some say my Cedar Fair passes are possessed).5 points

Here's a shot of the fence around the Action Zone mystery: (image courtesy of KIC's facebook page) I'm really starting to wish their webcams weren't down right now. Although I'm pretty sure they're doing that on purpose.5 points

^ Kinda, but I doubt it..."Bone-Chilling Screams" can come from roller coasters and other thrill rides, too. And that yellow-and-black warning tape, for one reason or another, makes me think of Son of Beast's original theme...wait a second, I knew it! They are building...GHOST O' Son of Beast!!! (DA-DA-DUM!!!) It will be taller, faster, and have more inversions than any other wooden coaster in the entire world! (Basically, a much bigger, longer, faster Outlaw Run that goes upside down even more often!) (Disclaimer: I do not actually think Kings Island is building another "Beast" ride...a RMC Woodie, perhaps...but it could also just be a B&M, Intamin, or something else...I do, however, think this may have something to do with the new attraction's theme, whatever it may be, ala the Diamondback teasers from 2008...Son of Beast teasers from 1999...etc etc...honestly, hoping it is something on that "level" of attraction "star power"...) Oh, BTW, the "Ghost of Beast" name was taken from THIS...I'd LOL if this is really what they are building...though it would be awesome...this is a No Limits track, so you'll need NL, it's a coaster made by a guy named SkyArrow: http://www.ridehost.com/browse/ghost-of-beast/5 points

Word on the street is that there is a construction fence surrounding the area that once housed Son of Beast. New for 2014, anybody? We'll keep you posted.4 points

I won't even title this a trip report. My dad and I got to Kings Island at 9:30 this morning and somehow Diamondback's line reached all the way to Blue Ice Cream! We were absolutely stunned. Unfortunately, I didn't get to ride Diamondback today. Hopefully next week. We then went to The Beast. The line extended to the Rivertown games. Once again another must ride for us was passed up on. The park hadn't even opened yet - still 15 minutes, so we waited at the rope until the park opened. We went directly to BLSC and walked on to the front seat. By the time we got off, the line was about to fill up the queue under the shade structures (whatever they're called). Wow. I took some decent pictures from BLSC to The Racer that I will post when I get home. Vortex's line filled up the outside queue, Flight of Fear as well, and Firehawk of course wasn't open. The Racer was the only ride with a decent wait. We rode it, and I gotta say, it doesn't feel as rough as usual. It was actually kind of smooth. That was it for our day in terms of rides. But I took some pics of the Bier Garten, the new banners in Action Zone, and the mysterious fence around the Thunder Alley area. Pictures coming soon. We will be going next Sunday, because today was just a disappointment. Sunday we will also eat at the Reds Hall of Fame and Grille, which I'll review. Overall it's good to be back.4 points

According to the fine folks working at the front gate at Kings Island, if you have a season pass you no longer need to get stamped to re-enter. I would assume that means that you can use your pass more than once in a day.3 points

Just remember that these things could be hints, and they could also be intentionally misleading to make you think it's something that it isn't. An example comes to mind when Diamondback was rumored to have been given the name Mustang, and one of the park's teaser signs was "Ride Sally Ride."3 points

Thanks Ryan... I read your topic post to Snow woman. She said' " We can go back?" so we did. Got through the gate with no problems, we rode DB once in the front row and came back home. Good times.3 points

It kills me to see how faded the yellow on Diamondback has gotten over the course of 4 years. Nice pictures!2 points

Well, you just up my mind about whether or not we were gonna make the 2+ hour drive to spend the afternoon at the park. Rain should be in the are by 7 so looks like I will be doing Laundry instead.2 points

The yellow and black does remind me a whole lot of Son of Beast, may he rest in piece or pieces whichever. I really hope it's a new woodie! Doesn't even have to be an RMC or a record breaking coaster at that. I just think that besides Prowler and Renegade Cedar Fair is lacking in the modern wooden coaster category. I'm tired of steel coasters! Give us a new woodie!2 points

Yep, but that doesn't mean it wasn't special! The true test will be in mid-July.2 points

You`ll probably be better suited to scope out the area from the Eiffel Tower. There won`t be much action in Action Zone. Poor Flight Deck will be out there all by itself. It will be interesting to see if there is just a fence and nothing else or if there are survey marks or anything. Keep in mind, that Cedar Point didn`t start pouring footings until well in the summer...2 points

Last night I dreamed I was setting up a dog show where the antique cars used to be. To be clear, I usually decorate the show for our local Scottie club, and for some reason, the show was at KI. I was walking along the antique car route, setting up foam core backed toon Scotties, like the cutouts they used to have at the HB race cars in the kiddy land. What? the dogs were going to drive the cars? The one who hit the middle rail least wins?2 points

Let's just hope they don't spill the beans and we're still guessing what the attraction is at the end of May unlike a park up north1 point

Maybe it is the ghost of the unloved son, ready for his revenge on Kings Island......1 point
-
Yes, it was definitely a Boat Tag Attraction. I just couldn't recall if Ki's was called that or something different. BTW, Indiana Beach had one for years... also I think Knoebels has (or had) one. Here's a pic: Wikipedia lists an attraction called "Water Wars" in Rivertown, for 1995 only. But has no other information. Could this be it?1 point

Weird question: Has anyone on here attempted lucid dreaming? I have recently been reading up on it and doing some research and I'm curious if anyone here can, or has attempted lucid dreaming.1 point

Leviathon II, what else? ( Of course I'm usually wrong but nothing wrong with dreaming.)1 point

I`d venture to say that most of that "processing fee" finds its way into Cedar Fair`s hands. I`m sure whatever company/software they use gets at least a cut of the processing fee. It really is ridiculous. And Kings Island isn`t the only venue that does this. Have you bought concert tickets lately? The cost of the Ticketmaster/Live Nation processing fees can be well north of $10, sometimes close to $20 a ticket! So that $35 ticket may end up being close to $60 by the time you add in all the fees and taxes! Such a racket.1 point

It doesn`t take much deducing to realize that is where the next big expansion would be at Kings Island. They aren`t going to just tear out the go kart tracks and plant grass. They clearly have something planned for that area. Remember, things take time to plan and design...1 point

Hopefully, it wasn't special food just for media day. Terp, who's seen that done many times.1 point
