@KingsIslandPR: I'm about to dive in on putting together the information on something our guests are going to really enjoy. I have a feeling Mr. Helbig really enjoys his job...10 points
-
^^ So sometimes he says things that only an enthusiast would read into. See, the "dive in to his work" comment. It ignites enthusiasts, but does no harm or confusion to casual followers. It's not that he wants people confused, but his job at times is to mislead, then lurch forward through a hint, then retract that hint as if we read too much into it (and maybe we did), etc. It's a balance of building excitement.9 points

Well based on that tweet I would say that we are getting a show like Dive! at Holiday World featuring Mr. Helbig as the main performer!7 points

I'd have to disagree with you on that one. My Rct3 park is thriving at the moment...7 points

Why? What's so bad about coaster enthusiasts speculating on a new ride and getting excited about it? Yeah maybe are thoughts go off on tangents every so often buts it's all in fun. We enjoy the thought of what's going on here and want to try to put the clues together.6 points

Such a paint does exist. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/WOOSTER-PRODUCTS-Photoluminescent-Kit-2TVC2?Pid=search5 points

I would really like to see a glow in the dark paint used on the roller coaster. supports and track look white during day and at night a bright sky blue track with bright yellow supports.5 points

Just rode Firehawk and noticed construction signs back on the access road that leads behind Flight of Fears building that had the same design/theme to it as the teaser signs do. Probably just that--construction signs, but thought it was interesting to note none the less.5 points

Son of Beast was an abysmal failure. I highly doubt they will replace it with anything that the general public could possibly confuse with SOB. They most likely want SOB to be the furthest thing from the minds of park guests. That means anything wood is almost certainly out of the question. EDIT: Also what DontWantToWait42mar0 said.4 points

I wouldn't mind a dive machine at Kings Island. It certainly would be a DIVErsion.4 points

Interesting picture....Wonder what the triangular-ish tarp/concrete slab is?.... But on another note.... Who remembers these teaser signs?.....I do... (Photo Courtesy of Robbie Zerhusen)4 points

I'd have to disagree with you on that one. My Rct3 park is thriving at the moment... Please tell me that you don't really think running a real park has much in common with succeeding at RCT.4 points

Most injuries are caused by the park guests, not the rides themselves.4 points

not that it would happen, but I think it would cool if the new(potential) coaster would be a giga that takes title of worlds longest steel coaster from Steel Dragon. You would have the longest steel and wooden coasters in the same park.3 points

yeah, I started searching after I posted that, originally thinking glow in the dark paint didn't exist that was meant to endure weather.. found some but goodness, it's expensive!3 points

Son of Beast did not come to a complete stop after the wood snapped. The train in the rosebowl continued along the track because no sensors showed a structural fault has occurred. It wasn't until the train returned to the station that the train dispatched just before was e-stopped on the lift hill to prevent further injuries.3 points

You don't know if all of Son of Beast's lot will be used for the new coaster. The only work we've seen thus far is in Thunder Alley's former spot. I don't believe a Dive Machine should be ruled out just yet.3 points

I'd have to disagree with you on that one. My Rct3 park is thriving at the moment... Please tell me that you don't really think running a real park has much in common with succeeding at RCT. Well in real life I couldn't use cheat codes to make my coaster go 1000ft high3 points

And I enjoy the job he does, he truly understands the "dance" . He does such a good job keeping our interest while not spoiling the "Moment".3 points

If you guys think Kings Island stacks trains, prepare yourself before you ever come to Busch Gardens. The team at Griffon today stacked three trains almost every single time.3 points

My experience with ride-ops at both parks is night and day. Kings Island's seem to have a far better attitude than CPs and I could give several examples but I will give two. I had my skin pinched really bad by a ride-op on Raptor and he was in such a hurry he didn't say sorry or nothing and just kept on his busy way, and yes he knew he hurt me pretty good! My last ride on DB it was a bit chilly out and my seat was soaked from a previous rider, I asked the ride-op if he had a towel or anything because I was wearing jeans and he immediately jumped in my seat and dried it off with his clothes! I'm sure that young man has a bright future and I know I will always remember him doing that for me (I was shocked and said thank you twice)! I know everyone has good and bad days but over all I love the way my family is treated by KI ride-ops.3 points

Wow, what a great day! I rode a good amount of rides for such a heavy crowd, and I made some new memories! I went to Beast first, and I was glad to hear it roar once again. Then we went to Rivertown Pizza to say hi to my friend who was working. After that, we rode Vortex, Adventure Express, Flight Deck, then Invertigo happened. We had to wait two hours, with most of the time coming from the train breaking down and letting all of the Fast Laners who had lined up cut in front after it was back and running. We were able to hit the Reds Grille in time to watch the top of the 9th, and our service and food were very good. He made a few minor mistakes but was very apologetic and thanked us for being so nice to him. (He earned a nice tip.) After this, we tried FoF, but the line was 2 hours long, even though the outer part of the queue wasn't filled. We were going to get on Firehawk, but I didn't want to pay for the locker to put my souvenir cup in. We just went to DB and waited a good long time for a great ride through the drizzling rain. It was so much fun. One thing I wanted to talk about was all of the weird things I saw today. There was a good amount of children there tonight, but most of them were middle schoolers with iPhones and their friends. I even saw one middle school "couple" holding up the DB line by macking on each other. I rudely clapped in their ears to get them moving, as there was about 30 feet of open space in front of them. I know my actions were rude, but really? Come on now, you're barely 13. Also, there was a short pause today in Boo Blasters. During that pause, I noticed that some of the props used in the attraction are timed to the music. It was creeeeepy... I also sang 'Happy Birthday' not once, not twice, but three times today. One was in the Reds Grille for a boy's 13th birthday, and the other two were led by a loud 18-year old for people in the DB line. I saw more sweatshirts than swimsuits, let's just say that.3 points

Today was the day Son of Beast opened, 13 years ago. It gave a whole new meaning to wooden roller coasters. it was the world's tallest, fastest, only looping wooden roller coaster. here is some 1999 construction: This coaster was opened later than it was supposed to due to problems while building it. One of the problems was the main hill (I think?) got half way knocked down because of strong winds and snow. Many people were hoping to ride it opening day but all they got was this: The ride then opened today May 26 2000. Many people liked it, many people were scared of it and many people thought the ride was way to rough. later in 2006, the ride hit a new low. The ride was taking passengers up the main lift hill and 27 people were injured at the rosebowl. The train in the rosebowl continued along the track because no sensors showed a structural fault has occurred. When the train returned to the station they made a e-stop so the train going up the hill was stopped and the passengers were gotten off. . The park was owned by CF at the time of the incident and then after they shut it down for the rest of the season, they added new trains that were lighter. The loop was also removed. After that things went a little better for Son of Beast, until 2009... Little did we know that 2009 would be the last operating season for Son of Beast, an indecent with a woman happened were she had a aneurysm while riding the ride. The ride was then shut down a few weeks later and was being investigated for it's safety. From 2010-2012 the roller coaster was removed from the park map as the plans of waht was gonna happen where unclear. In 2011 the station was transformed into a Halloween Haunt attraction called Wolf Pack, the station is still used for that to this day. People were in a frenzy of back and forth battles of will the ride reopen or not and for the 2010-mid 2012 the park remained mute on the subject. July 2012 the park announced its plans for Son of Beast, the ride will be taken apart piece by piece starting later the 2012 season. In early 2013 the ride was completely removed and construction was started for a new attraction. Not many people know what they are building for the future but those who know won't be talking until the park decides to make a public announcement. R.I.P. Son of Beast 2000-2012 (or 2000-mid 2009) Happy 13th birthday.2 points

When last did Cedar Fair clues actually point to the final result when viewed with 20-20 hindsight? At least Paramount Parks had the "Drop this far...", then the project got cancelled.2 points

Not only that, the original obstetrician was costing too much and behind schedule, so the park fired him and did the delivery itself. The park then sued him, won, but never collected a dime. Years later, the state would claim the original delivery was defective, and one of its operatives would accuse the park of using only Band-Aid brand adhesive bandages to fix it.2 points

It's a discussion forum. Guesses, clues, positive indicators and ridiculous ideas all abound. And the topic is decoding...not deriding. It's important we discuss and critique ideas, not each other as people. There are many friends here, and many who one day will be. I've seen no one say someone else is silly. And many of the posts you may think are about nothing are actually more significant than that. Some far more. Others may be diversions, but which are which?2 points
