No. He hasn't posted for quite some time. I figure he saw some more green track on I-71 and followed it. I hope he's okay. Concerned Terp.19 points

I give Lance credit ....he's a pro at back-traking and not taking credit for wrong confirmations, all the while patting himself on the back at the same time. Bottom line, he doesn't know and is guessing like everyone else.14 points

Has anyone else seen the new Projekt Helix going on at Leisberg? I'd kill for that. It's like Super Maverick on the side of a hill.9 points

I actually agree with YoungStud for once. The Vekoma flyers are far superior to the B&M ones, in my opinion. As a person who has ridden Manta at SWO and Firehawk at KI, I must say Manta blows the fire out of Firehawk. Very interactive and you are laying on your stomach during the lift instead of looking into the sun.8 points

It will be some type of record breaker. i.e.: Largest invert in Southern Ohio, fastest coaster East of I-71, steepest incline in the Eastern time zone, most inversions in a park in Southern OH etc. It's all about marketing, not that promoting these elements is a bad thing, but some only see the "-est" and not the finer points.7 points

Walt Disney World is not only Magic Kingdom - in fact, EPCOT is my favorite Disney World park, then Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom is great for little ones but it gets kind of boring as you get older and when you visit more often (been at least eight times so I might just be getting bored with it) - so I think it's okay. I love love love Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Haunted Mansion, but Peter Pan's Flight and Winnie the Pooh are getting outdated. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a great coaster and will have some good competition with Seven Dwarfs. My favorite ride is Space Mountain; favorite non coaster is Pirates of the Caribbean. Oh: and don't go on Stitch's Great Escape. Don't. While I re-itterate yoursentiments about Stitch's Escape (bad, bad, bad!) I disagree with you that MK is boring as you get older. Now if you're, say, 13-25 only looking for thrills, then perhaps. However I'm 41 and thoroughly enjoy MK - it's my favorite Disney park. Magic Kingdom was never intended (nor ever will be intended) to be a high-thrill park. It was built to be a family-focused park full of things that can be enjoyed by everyone with an imagination. If you go into MK and walk out thinking it's boring, IMO, you've been blind to the whole concept. Magic Kingdom was built on Walts principle that "“Age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. ... it's dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” Next time, look at it with a grown-up childs eyes - and you'll marvel at how wonderful it is.5 points

I was just there in late may. Barely anything been done? Ha! The coaster track circuit is now complete and the exterior rock work and scaping is probably 50% done. The interior theming has now begun, and the coaster is on track to be open in 2014 Spring/Summer. This is what I'd call a "thrilling" family coaster. No it's not a small Vekoma Flying Chase (which I believe they simply produced the coaster itself) rather a "big" sit-down coaster with some larger turns outside of the mountain. I'd expect it to me a milder Big Thunder with great interior effects. I have to say, the new Fantasyland at WDW MK is absolutely incredible! The Beast/Belle/Gaston portion is so well done words cant describe it. It blends into the old Fantasyland like perfection!5 points

I am starting to think that the "no camping" signs don't really have much to do with the ride, but more so with just telling people not to hang around there.5 points

If you look at the true size of these footers, you can tell they're most likely not for lights. Lighting would use a much smaller foundation.. However, they will probably have a sign and possibly theming on a few footers somewhere.. The three of you are going to love this idea I came up with. So those wonderful light footers, or themed footers, you so speak of? SOBwasaSOB listen up this is for you - I wonder what they are doing with those old Phantom Theater characters.... hmmmm Perhaps they will use those characters for themeing in this ride, if the name is indeed "Banshee". It would actually fit the theme. Now I realize they used a lot of those during the haunt, and many may not be usable anymore but its a thought.5 points

I'm sorry your stuff was stolen. Hint #1: Don't bring a bag with valuables into the park. Hint #2: Wear clothing that: buttons, velcros, or zips for a small amount of cash, ID, credit card, and a car key. . Hint #3: Leave the cell phone in the car. Enjoy the park without being attached to the outside World for a few hours. Hint #4: If you MUST have a bag full of stuff, spend the $$ for a locker. It's cheaper than what you are currently going through.5 points

I would love to see Vekoma's Pandora's Box ride used at Kings Island maybe as an "Amusement Dark". The concept of Pandora's Box has always intrigued me and with the right amount of theming I think it would work great at Kings Island or a few Cedar Fair parks. A theme that resembles Phantoms Theatre or something along those lines even. http://www.vekoma.com/index.php/specialities-and-attractions/pandora-s-box Definitely not what KI is getting for 2014 but a great idea for a future "Amusement Dark" or dark ride.4 points

??? I don't know if I should mention the TOS here or not, is this a one word response? It seems like a zero word response... What else do you say in response to someone trying to argue with a unknowlegable reply? I believe he was asking if you meant the Superman:Ride of Steel clones or the Superman:Ultimate Flight clones, as TheCrypt said, there are significant differences between the two.4 points

I haven't really posted much in this topic for many reasons but, I feel like I would like to point out how silly it is for you people to be fighting over Intamin vs B&M. They both make great coasters that can be enjoyed by so many different people! Isn't that one reason that we are part of this great website? Because of all the fun and enjoyment we get from amusement parks? I can't stand to see this wonderful community fall apart because of some silly arguments that have been part of this thread. Shouldn't we all just respect other people and their opinions? Now, I really don't like calling people out, especially on the internet but I feel like this needs to be said, YoungStud, you have very strong opinions and that is wonderful! I love it when people can feel good about what they love, in your case its Intamin coasters(and I also have a passion for Intamin) but maybe the reason people might not respect you on this site as much as they respect other posters is because you seem very close minded about what you believe and you seem very disrespectful toward other members when you don't agree with them. Can't we all just find a way to get along, even with some of the "trolls", I feel like this thread has gotten far out of hand for too long and I really don't want some of the attitudes that members possess to spread and be the down fall of this amazing site. Maybe you should join Kings Island Security then. Oh, and the rides department. Probably food as well; I'm assuming you have a complaint there too. Forget I said anything.4 points

the one caveat to that, is that most people have the 4th of July off, many will get the 5th off as well, on top of that, a good chunk will take monday, tuesday & wednesday off, along w/ their holiday days and make a week of it. I'd expect monday to be more crowded than a typical monday, but nothing like wednesday, thursday or friday will be.3 points

I remember when Vortex went in, it was the biggest, baddest ride in the park; I was simply awestruck watching it run its cycles, but too scared to give it a spin, I think that changes a year or two later when I finally jumped on board. All these years later, I still think Vortex is the most intense coaster in the park. Sure Diamondback is bigger, but its so smooth its almost liesurely (but in a good way); Flight of Fear catches you off gaurd multiple times, but noting quite as intense as that fist drop on Vortex, or going thru the double loop or batwing. I still love that rendering, it always looked great on a tshirt. The Bat had to be destroyed to make a classic...Son of Beast had to be destoryed to make way for a ......3 points

"We" haven't been DEcoding. At least not as in all of us. Some of us have other, hopefully helpful (to you, the park and the industry) goals. Sorry for the diversion. Have a Snicker's and enjoy your day!3 points

Yes. A waterfall feature on the end furthest from its entry gate. It was a nice, restful place. A great place to chill out for a while, to reflect, to take kids who needed a break.3 points

I thought originally that this was an invert with the possibily of a terrain hugger in vain of Maverick. I was wrong. This is the Rebirth of Phantom Theater. It will feature inversions and a lift hill but will be heavily theamed and have a dark ride aspect much like the original. Obviously I kid but wow what a dream ride that would be! I just saw a video of Phantom Theater and was flooded with memories so I had to post this. On another note I am echoing several others and becoming as repititive as those I am criticizing but we have little evidence and are taking our guesses in good fun so please do not label us as trolls and dismiss our opinons or call us stupid. We are living up the moment as it is not every year your home park gets a new ride so let us dream and have our fun. I am fine with being wrong but I like to read and see other opinions of what is coming in because the hype will make fthe first ride that much more enjoyable. For what it's worth I have had a few too many so if this seems ignorant and wrong sorry...you are probably right it is.3 points

Being an associate at the park, I rarely post on here. That being said, I cannot let this one go. Have you ever worked at the park? Let alone a popular coaster like Diamondback or Beast? I'll say this in the nicest way possible: you guys have NO IDEA the types of stuff we deal with on a busy day (today was one of the busiest days I have ever worked in the four years that I have been at the park). Stacking trains on days like the one we had today is inevitable. This whole "Diamondstack" thing is a load of poop. I worked there for two years and I know how difficult it is to keep those trains moving on a busy day like we had today. It's not the associates who are at fault, and it's definitely not the ride; It's the excess amount of guests that slow things down. If you want to avoid seeing stacked trains, because apparently that is really disturbing to you guys, come on a weekday when the line is short and the associates can actually concentrate on capacity rather than the hours worth of impatient guests in the queue line. Sorry, but I will always defend my fellow KI associates when necessary.3 points
