^ It's really easy to fix, and it will prevent you from mentally subtracting hours from now until March. Kings Island certainly has a nice collection of first drops.9 points

I will ride it when I first have the opportunity...Lord willing and the creeks don't rise.8 points

Mother-daughter time is not to be sneezed at. I know I fondly treasure the time I spent with my parents, in parks and elsewhere.5 points

^ I was texting our location to the number I had for you (presumably your mom's number?), but I guess you didn't get the messages. I stayed with the group most of the day, though I separated for about 30 minutes to walk onto some rides by myself. Hanging out with a group of Kings Island's biggest fans is a great way to experience the park.5 points

I just thought this was cool, to get the colors of the ride in an evening setting with it being dark but still beautiful. (Forgive the screen capture crap around it, I'll get that fixed as soon as Photobucket will save my cropping.)... Fixed EDIT: Delirium looks like the sun.5 points

I guess I'm the minority, but I think Amusement Dark is an awful name. If they're going to change Action Zone to something else, they can no doubt do better.5 points

Something else I want to point out that was brought up to me, the argument of Tillikum being kept alone since the attack. Very false. He DID have his primary female companion as usual following the attack till her death when she died from labor complications that summer. Currently Tillikum's grandson spends a lot of time with him (backstage and show) as it should be, its important for male orcas to have access to other males.... to relieve tension that would probably otherwise drive females busy with the youngsters nuts. Tillikum himself however actually prefers to be alone at times as he does get impatient with too much exposure to other orcas, so when he is seen alone generally he chose to be. So no he is not purposely kept alone all hours of the day every day.5 points

I respectfully disagree. ERT first thing in the morning will get you on the ride with the shortest wait times.4 points

its my first time posting here, so i aplogize if i do anything wrong. But when I first visited Kings Island it was GE day 2005, I was like 7-8. But my mom was talking about how she use to love going to Winterfest with her mom. I thought the idea was amazing. To go to Kings Island during the winter?? Woah. Te return of winterfest in 2005 didnt seem to amuse me as much as the idea of it did. I think if they were able to bring some of the classic Kings Island back to the mix then it would be great. Cedar Fair could totally use this in there advantage. I only visited Kings Island twice why it was run by paramount , but it had alot more classic charecter to it if I recall right. I'm not trashing Cedar Fair in anyway because I think that they saved Kings Island. Anyways, my point is yes, Winterfest would be nice, but you should be able to visit with a Gold pass, and on anyday you choose. But I don't think it would be a smart investment because of how unpredictible Ohio weather is.4 points

I'm really intrigued with the idea of an Action Zone retheme...The Bat, Banshee...what else could get a "horror-esque" retheme in this area? Would be really cool and a huge marketing plus for the park. I love this idea.4 points

Don't think it would succeed in 2013 for lack of planning... Joke. Do I wish it would?, yes. Do I think it will?, an obvious - no. Will it ever again? Not sure. Kinzel as CEO, no. Current CEO, wouldn't rule a feasibility study out.4 points

It is close but the queue line entrance is going to be down by the bathroom from what I understood, or at least I think that's what I understood. Judging by the blueprints and the off-ride video, the queue entrance will be almost exactly where the Thunder Alley entrance was. Also, that wouldn't be THAT weird, since Adventure Express runs almost entirely behind Coney Mall, yet is located in Oktoberfest. Although AE is rather hidden, while Banshee is huge, purple mystic red, and screams "look at me!"3 points

I think the best way to return this event is to gage what the public wants then start out small, but expand over time. They have to rebuild a fan base and like any business, realize that their best customers are those that are local. Give them something that will keep them coming back throughout the holiday season. I would think that their retail would have to be unique and their food fair as well. I would start out with I street, skating, ki theater, train ride and a few sife attractions. If the event were to succeed, who knows how big it could become. There are so many possibilities.3 points

My first ride on The Beast the year it opened was with him in the front seat. He told me to stick with him during the running of the bulls. Was a fantastic ride!3 points

Before Winterfest returns, I would rather see more overall improvements to the park. 1. Get rid of the Starlight Spectacular. 2. Put international things on International Street. Otherwise it should be renamed "Cincinnati Street" 3. Change the cuisine in the Festhaus to reflect Octoberfest, or rename the Festhaus like BGT did with theres. 4. Add more flats. 5. Get rid of the Crypt building or turn it into a "Houdini" type ride. I would rather they spend money on these things than spending the time and money on an event that may or may not generate a profit.3 points
-
What about flats? In the video it showed the carousel, which seems like a perfect Christmas ride. After watching the video, WinterFest seems like something everyone would enjoy. Unless your the Grinch of course... razmataz, who couldn't help himself.3 points

What would happen? We'd be there Would it succeed? Possibly, as long as we weren't the only ones. Expectations? Not sure here, would be nice to have the fountains set up for skating, but that could be expensive depending on weather. Lot of water to pipe chilling into. Some nice shows, and a Santa greet for the kids. Decorations and Christmas lights, of course. As for rides, I'd expect little more than the Grand Carousel, though if they wanted to heat the FoF building, I'd ride it, lol Want it to return? We'll put footprints on that property anytime we are allowed to do so.3 points

I ice skated for the first time at Winterfest and it's a wonderful memory. Part of that memory includes how absolutely packed it was. I know nothing about business but I believe that it could be successful with the right planning and events. I'm not sure having all of the rides open would be fiscally responsible as that would increase costs but not increase ticket sales dramatically enough to make sense. There is a lot to consider when thinking about doing an outdoor event during unpredictable Ohio winter months. Would I like to see Winterfest come back? Yes. Do I think it could be successful? Yes but I'm aware I could be wrong.3 points

I agree with Spectrum that Amusement Dark sounds more like a nighttime event than a park section. It would work but i'm jsut not a big fan of the name for a aprk section, works great for an event though. As for renaming other rides I love the idea of Delirium being a Pit and the Pendulum theme. Just need to repaint it to match which wouldn't be too hard for a ride of it's size. Also Drop Tower becoming Guillotine would be great. As far as Invertigo, with it's new colors I've always kind of imagined it with a bit of a ghost theme to it, so maybe something like Poltergeist. New logo could have a ghost on it with it's body forming the track shape a bit, just worried it might look too much like Banshee's though. Could also put a bunch of gravestones aroudn teh ground under it to make it be like a ghost flying through a graveyard. They might retheme the theme the whole area over time but I really think for 2014 we are just going to have a new mini-zone with Bat, Banshee and Xtreme Skyflyer3 points

I think the point that razmataz99 is trying to make is that he cannot give a proper, detailed answer to the original question until he learns more about past Winterfests. Without knowing anything about them, all he (or I) can give is a generic answer like the one immediately above.3 points
-
Fine. I'll answer the original question. As much as I know about Winterfest, (nothing) it sounds like it would be a fairly popular event. While I wouldn't expect huge crowds, but some at least. I, for one, would love for this to return for it sounds like a load of fun. I've always loved the feeling of the holiday season, so what could make it better than mixing it with Kings Island? So, yes, I think it should return in 2013. Now will answer my questions? razmataz, who is getting very impatient.3 points
