Mr. Helbig took a great picture of Banshee today....And because of that picture, we can now match-up rendering and real photo! Banshee Rendering: Actual Photo of Banshee: (The photo above was taken by Mr. Helbig, so all credit to him)8 points

Screamscape is now reporting that Delirium may be repainted, too (insert grain of salt here): If true (or, heck--even if not), is anyone else thinking that the park is spending an exceptionally large amount (for Cedar Fair) on rides/ride updates/park updates at Kings Island for 2014? 1. Banshee's set the record on how much the park has ever spent on a single ride. Heck, Banshee's got to be one of the more expensive rides Cedar Fair's ever installed in the past 10-20 years. The only ride that tops it that comes to mind at the moment is Leviathan. 2. On top of that, Flight Deck is being repainted, and its station--in some magnitude--is being changed, all to complete a new Bat theme. (It still feels really funny to think of Cedar Fair doing anything related to theming, even if it could only be in name. I truly thought that ride would be a blandly-colored Flight Deck for the rest of its life.) 3. Delirium may or may not be repainted. 4. Greg Scheid made a point at the Banshee announcement of mentioning that, under Cedar Fair, each area of the park has been updated when a ride has been added to it. Add in a mysteriously disappearing water tower, and I'd speculate Action Zone will receive some sort of change next year. This is just too much for me. I really don't know what to expect next year at this point, apart from Banshee and The Bat (which is more than enough for me as it is.) And I'm loving it.7 points

I'd move Backlot Stunt Coaster to a smaller park. It has a low capacity, the launch into the helix is too intense for a "family" coaster, and it's an eyesore compared to what it replaced. You'd remove the second biggest people eater after Banshee? You must like long lines at Beast and Vortex. Besides, there's more that can make a ride entertaining than just forcefulness. Even if you personally can't enjoy the coaster, perhaps you could catch up on your reading? Have you handed in your Kings Island fan card yet?6 points

When was Invertigo painted? Did they do the sign? Terp, who likes to ask questions Sign, sign everywhere a sign....5 points

That's odd. Why would Cedar Point store their Halloween decorations so far away?4 points

If I HAD to remove a ride, and I'm thinking from a personal standpoint as a customer, I would remove Diamondback. We already have a boring steel coaster in Planet Snoopy. I can live without one in the main park. If I were managing the park and trying to turn a profit as best I can, and for whatever reason, I had absolutely NO choice but to remove something, I would remove Congo Falls, purely because there are other water rides to fill the gap, and I think that the impact of losing that ride would be less than the impact of losing any others. Plus, the removal of that would open up land in an area that seems to be the center of attention right now. - Homestar92, stating his honest opinions, whether you like it or not.4 points

Every time I check on the progress I am stunned by just how huge it is. Everything else seems so incredibly small in comparison to what is constructed thus far. It almost feels cartoonishly large; I am aware that it truly isn't but even in person it just seemed enormous! Also, I can't wait to see The Bat come to fruition through the same camera view as Banshee. SO. MUCH. EXCITEMENT.4 points

Neither did I at first, but now it's grown on me. Not my first choice for that coaster, but it makes sense and highlights its signature element.4 points

I really don't like the name "Gatekeeper" but overall its not the name that really matters, it's the ride itself.4 points

Maybe we could get a "Bat Cam"?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

With all due respect, I don't see any way Congo Falls will be moved from AZ to Soak City. It's the only water ride on the Action Zone/Coney Mall side of International Street, and for that alone I don't see it moving.3 points

No matter the rumors 2014 will be an incredible funtastic year at Kings Island:3 points

I just noticed this topic. Glad I am not the only one who has weird dreams about Kings Island. I have a recurring dream nearly every time I ride WindSeeker. I get to the top, unlatch the restraint and fly like a bird. I never fall, but it still scares me a little bit when I have it.3 points

Hmmmm......Invertigo's name could be changed to something like Jekyll and Hyde, and have the queue line enclosed and made interactive with as a mad scientists lab. That would satisfy the dark atmosphere. edit: Almost sounds like the area could be remamed something on the lines of an Edger Allen Poe theme. Bat Banshee Pit and the Pendulum Jekyll and Hyde drop zone..."the tell tale heart" with a beating heart noise until the carriage drops. What other names might be appropriate? Then it really could become the Amusement Dark3 points

If Kings Island was to bring back winter fest it would need to have competitive pricing with the zoo and other Xmas events, i would say probably 15 - 20 dollars entrance fee. Great food that is unique to the park that time of year. Also attraction wise, they could open Flight of Fear, ki railroad, a petting zoo, ice skating, holiday lights walk throughs. Christmas themed Dinosaurs Alive, eifle tower, holiday shows, with that i think it could work at the right pricing and marketing but who knows if the parks wants to deal with having the park opened in the wintertime when offseason maintenance and chores. must be completed around the park.3 points

Top choice would be the return of the Phantom Theatre. I liked the Smurfs when I was a kid but I loved the Phantom Theatre and was so disappointed when it got changed to Scooby Doo. I would ride it over and over. Also Tomb Raider returned with all the effects as it was when it first opened. And Antique Cars and Woodstock Express back to Beastie with the tunnel.2 points

Has it been said that the $24 million was only for Banshee? Could it be something like $20 million for Banshee and $4 million for repainting/retheming the rides around it?2 points

If you mean at Carowinds, local government has already been informed of the plans. Name? I doubt it, but size and type of ride, yes.2 points

Before Winterfest returns, I would rather see more overall improvements to the park. 1. Get rid of the Starlight Spectacular. 2. Put international things on International Street. Otherwise it should be renamed "Cincinnati Street" 3. Change the cuisine in the Festhaus to reflect Octoberfest, or rename the Festhaus like BGT did with theres. 4. Add more flats. 5. Get rid of the Crypt building or turn it into a "Houdini" type ride. I would rather they spend money on these things than spending the time and money on an event that may or may not generate a profit.2 points

I guess I'm the minority, but I think Amusement Dark is an awful name. If they're going to change Action Zone to something else, they can no doubt do better.2 points
