Nothing to this whatsoever. We did not change our website, as claimed.19 points

Put another, less kind way, our new poster lied. Just as he/she/it almost certainly lied when claiming the Scareactors touched him/her/it. Loss of credibility sucks.9 points

I can understand not liking Backlot's location or even it's theme, but are we really at the point where the park would be altogether stronger without it? I think that's a silly thing to think. It's a fun, well-done family coaster that was just recently updated to keep its effects working. Why would we want to remove it completely for no reason?8 points

There were no computers? Really? The things I learn here. (Gee, I wonder what in the world I, a lowly student, was using back in 1965 at Morehead State in Kentucky? It used "IBM punchcards.")7 points

He's joking. Bwa ha ha ha ha! Sorry, didn't mean to laugh. * snicker *7 points

Lol he just got put down by Don, and then he changes the subject to Slingshot... Classic...just classic6 points

So quick to judge. I wasn't aware you had ridden the new coaster at either Kentucky Kingdom or Kings Island. What they LOOK like is not the key. Zamperla's flying coasters look fun. That infernal contraption at Indiana Beach looks fun.6 points

And most females lol. The last Saturday of the Haunt we were walking through Rivertown and my fiancé overheard a conversation between a scare actor and a kid outside of Reds Grill. Kid told him to scare someone, the next people to walk by. That happened to be us, apparently. My fiancé said the kid pointed to him and told the scare actor "scare him!!" ... The scare actor said "too big to scare" LOL. My fiancé is 6'1 and about 385. It was hilarious to hear the conversation, though! They target me big time. I'm 5'3 and 100ish pounds lol thankfully I'm usually quiet when I am scared so if one scares me they may get a slight jump out of me but no screams. Idiot drivers scaring me is a different story. lol5 points

BTW, this was my 50th post as KIC Member! A bat cave? The Bat Cave I believe could be at a place that has Six Flags........5 points

Why do people say "oh it's ganna be boring" or "forceless" ect.. Just sit down, secure your harness, and have fun... It's not always about forces, inversions, speed, ect. Just ENJOY IT...Make memories Thrills connect5 points

Lightning Run is also new to everyone. Banshee had everyone's attention when it was announced. Crypt, back to lurking.5 points

Which infernal contraption are you talking about? (Not that I'm defending Indiana Beach; that whole park is an infernal contraption to me. )5 points

Chance Morgan needs to make a good first impression with this ride. It looks good but I'll reserve my judgment until I ride it. I'd like to see more of the trains.5 points

Haha! That is too funny. I went to the Haunt with a group of girls once who got really scared easily. I politely asked a slider to scare them and he slid right in front of them. They were screaming and one yelled "OMmgGG help mee!!!" that was the highlight of my night. Later in the night i told them that I asked the alider to scare them and they got mad though ;( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free4 points

No rides will be removed for the 2014 season. Slingshot, along with several other attractions, will not be removed at any time in the forseeable future: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/28216-chopping-block/?hl=%2Bchopping+%2Bblock (Post #4)4 points

"I also figured out why the trains are so close to the ground! Instead of a splashdown, the train will shoot dirt 50 ft into the air as it skims the surface." So we had better ride this early before all the dirt is gone from the skimdown or will it be replaced occasionally? later, Mark4 points

I would actually like to see the original Bat sign up or at least a remake of it near the attraction. The use of a few tree types could enhance the area, in example weeping norwegian spruce, or Austrian pines, which possess a more "foreboding" feel due to their cultural heritage to old world traditions.4 points

Lightning Run looks like a fun ride that should deliver some good air. I am almost more excited for the ARM/Larson Drop Tower though. All in all it looks like they are getting a lot for their money for next year. Though it will be much more interesting to see how much they are spending 4-5 years down the line (if at all).4 points

I agree with you. It would be nice to get some themeing but that particular prop is much more a general winged demon than a bat.4 points

I really don't see why they would modify the track layout for this que. If anything they would modify the que to fit the track layout.4 points

Backlot Stunt Coaster may not be the most intense or exciting ride for thrill seekers, but it's adored by smaller riders. My little brother could ride that and Adventure Express all day, while he's not quite up for The Beast or Vortex just yet. I know he, and many other younger park guests, would be sad if it was to be removed. I'm honestly surprised there is only one Three-Point Challenge at Kings Island - Cedar Point has three. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see one tucked somewhere into Action Zone for next year.4 points

I can think of a long, long list of things better than DB!4 points

They can call it whatever they want, but they better replace that ugly concrete with pavers or I will not be a happy camper.4 points

Not calling you a liar or anything, but did anybody else catch this? It could be very easily photoshopped to say Fear Zone, so I would prefer to have another witness before I believe anything. Still waiting on that Green Intamin track....4 points

Look what I found today on Kings Island's website! All the Action Zone rides were like this for about 10 minutes!4 points

The same night (10/26) we also saw a dad tell the undertaker to go scare his daughter and her friends the undertaker didn't really do anything and they ran off screaming. He walked up to them, stared at them, they froze up but observed him, then he slightly lurched forward at them with an evil smirk, and they screamed very loud and ran off. It was great.3 points

You sure called that one right. That's why I never believe these things until proven true, but instead just speculate and that's remarkable for me considering I'm gullible!3 points

You may already know by now that I like to start out my PTRs with the first pictures at the park, but this one is starting out a little differently - I decided to take some pics of the fall colors along the way... [/url] ...before arriving at the park: It was about 4:00 p.m. by the time we walked through the gates of Kings Island for the last time this season. Like last year, I decided to head left, into Action Zone. Next year, I'm going to the right! We headed to Delirium first. Its line was the shortest I had seen in a while! The wait was less than a cycle-length. I was assigned to Seat 28. What a fun ride to start a Closing Day trip! I always like saying that I love the feeling you get when you're just floating!!! How amazing. Next was the blue Vekoma inverted boomerang, Invertigo. Invertigo's line was only a station wait! I got in line for the end seat on the end of the train that faced the parking lot after waiting 2 cycles. Fun and intense ride, as I always like it! During the ride, my hands were either on my lap or out to the side. I apparently am developing a habit of doing that, and as far as I'm concerned there is nothing wrong with that. I then headed to Flight Deck, since riding it was the main priority I had started the trip in Action Zone. After this season it would be transformed into The Bat, I would later learn. I headed back one last time to ride it while it was still Flight Deck. My first three FD rides of the day were on Train #2. After a single ride in 7-1, I got back in line and was able to do a double ride in 5-1 and 6-1. The two rides after that were a double ride on Train #1 - I rode in 1-2 and 7-2. Meanwhile, I figured out that my fifth and final FD ride this day was actually my 45th ride ever on Flight Deck! After these five amazing flights I headed up to Oktoberfest, hoping I would be able to marathon Adventure Express since I didn't get to yet this season. Part 2 will come as soon as tomorrow. Until then, enjoy!3 points

I think some people have mentioned this is the past, But id love to see some projection screens with like a Banshee Following the track? Just a thought.3 points

That's for sure. No serious park wanting media attention would make its announcement at 11 PM on a Saturday night. Too late for tv. The Courier-Journal had gone to print. Most media was either asleep, watching a game or in a bar. Not exactly clever. And IAAPA about to start. My head hurts.3 points

I have been questioning before the announcement on here if Hurricane Bay would be better than Splashin Safari. I questioned that because some information was LEAKED a month before last nights announcement, the link is below http://baseballnationals.com/elizabethtown/kentucky-kingdom/ (note: this information is not 100% accurate) Also, I am a bit stunned to be honest that more coaster critics are more interested in Lighting Run over Banshee, even several of you KI fans. But hey, we have two great new coasters coming to our region in less than 6 months. Lastly, I have seen a picture on twitter of several slide pieces already on site at the park.3 points

How do you know that it's photoshopped? They changed Flight Deck to The Bat, perhaps they accidentally let it slip when editing The Bat. Not arguing. Just asking how you know. It does seen sketchy that sonic team only has one post though. I've done PS work, I use it all the time. If you zoom in on the picture you can see the difference in the pixels.3 points

I too am amazed at the kind of ride they're getting considering how much money will be going into it. That $7 million will certainly pack a punch! (However, at first glance of the coat-hanger track, I was like "uh oh Vekoma" . But then I realized...)3 points

Guys, it's Photoshopped. Sonicteam1000 you need to read the TOS, stuff like this will get your account banned.3 points

The Beast was built in 1979 and The Vortex was built in 1987, now my years might be a little off but The Beast was first to break records not Vortex.3 points

My guess is that the daily walk-up ticket price is $45 primarily to make season passes and discounted tickets seem like a better value. Considering discounted HW (~$36) and KI (~$29) ticket prices at KY Kroger stores, I'd expect discounted adult one-day tickets to be under $30. If KK is a success, it will be interesting to see how HW's new management and KI respond in future seasons. With the focus on the waterpark, Soak City's offerings will certainly look lackluster in comparison.3 points

It's Ed Hart. He does things...differently. If this park makes it through several seasons, watch him offload it to a big corporation for much dinaro. Then the cycle will repeat.3 points

Drove by the park tonight. The lift and first turn supports look like they may have been painted a nice charcoal gray color. (Visibility was a little iffy.)3 points
