Long-time park visitors will find the caliber of this show ranks right up there with the shows they saw in the KI Theater in the 1970's and 1980's.25 points

Hello I am new here to KIC and I am very excited for Banshee! By the way I have met Matt Ouimet as you can see in my profile picture. How I met him is on opening day for Gatekeeper I was exiting the ride while he was entering and realized it was him. I told my family who it was ... they thought I was crazy. We waited until he got off and then my dad went up to him and said my son thinks that you are the CEO of Cedar Fair. He replied, "Your son is a very smart man." I then talked to him for about ten minutes and he said maybe one day I will have is job.18 points

^^ No, the announcement was not a ripoff. They did not promise anyone anything that they didn't deliver. The show is an attraction for all ages, and it appeals to more audiences than the typical Cedar Fair musical revue. As with any other short-notice online announcement of an announcement from Cedar Fair, people blew it way out of proportion.13 points

Interesting indeed. Looks like a smaller circle is there now. Action Zone seems like an odd place for a Hidden Mickey10 points

My bet is a new live show that will culminate in a daily human sacrifice. The lucky victims will be selected from internet forums/message boards; specifically those individuals who consistently fail to capitalize proper nouns or who cannot distinguish between the proper usage of the words "your" or "you're".10 points

I live 8-9 hours from Kings Island. I wouldn't miss the shows. 42 years ago I was younger and lived perhaps 1/3 as far away. I wouldn't miss the shows then again. See Fred dancing with a carrot. Where else? And I'm glad I did.9 points

Most people here have a season pass. That said, you plan to go more than once. You don't have to do everything in one day. I have been to the park, and not ridden a single thing, and still have had a wonderful time.9 points

I did not realize 13 year olds liked to plan so thoroughly. That is impressive to be honest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk9 points

They're going to take all the animatronic characters from the Phantom Theater and install them in and throughout Adventure Express. Inside the final tunnel, instead of the natives, it'll be phantoms and at the very top of the lift hill will sit good ol' Maestro playing his organ claiming that "You'll be back!" I believe the new name to this highly themed family coaster will be called "Phantom Express." I'm really looking forward to riding it on opening day!9 points

Why would anything that would be a positive for KI be a let down for any KI Enthusiast! The way I look at it, whether it is something that I would personally enjoy or not, if it impacts KI in a positive manor I am all for it!9 points

Well if that is what they are waiting for then I'd assume that the first train tested would be the green one.8 points

So...the site is back up and running, nice.. Here's some stuff I've put together post announcement for y'all: This show was at Canada's Wonderland last year. The same company who produced that show, and also Skeleton Crew at Cedar Point will be producing this show. Some of the cast from Skeleton Crew will be on our show too apparently. Also for those who have been to Cedar Point this almost is like combining All Wheels Extreme & Skeleton Crew into one, it should be fun. Here is a video of the announcement from Kings Island's facebook Here is a video of the show at Canada's Wonderland, Cirque Ambiente Also for record, here is Skeleton Crew And All Wheels Extreme See how it combines all of these elements together. Obviously it's similar to it's counterpart at Canadas Wonderland but it looks to take some from these other shows as well, which is perfectly fine. Should be a fun show to watch for sure. Also because I was curious I peeked at Ed Alonzo's show schedule. He is on some Royal Caribbean ships right now doing shows, but will be down at Valleyfair from 08JUN through 24AUG. So it's possible we may (keyword MAY) have him back for Haunt, who knows. Regardless we have a good show for the beginning of the season, we will see what happens with the last bit of it.8 points

It's been a while since I posted last, but seriously is it time yet? I have been waiting to see Banshee in action!8 points

A few examples: -Grandparents/parents who are visiting with grandkids and can't/don't want to ride those rides -Anyone of any age who doesn't like the rides (yes, those people exist) and finds him- or herself at the park -People who go to amusement parks like Kings Island for more than just the rides (some of whom post here) -People who are physically unable to ride the rides -People who like the shows at the park enough to make a fansite for them8 points

I was talking to my a few of neighbors the other day. I mentioned we were excited about KI opening soon. They asked when we were planning on going. I told them media day, opening day and other days. Of course they looked at us (Katie was there) weird. Katie said we will go several times. One neighbor asks, 3-4 times? Katie responded "no like 15-20 at least." Ha! She told them about Banshee and how excited we are. The same neighbor asked if we get bored. Katie said never, we love the park. We've met so many people there we always have fun even on cold or rainy days. With that being said I am so excited about an added attraction announcement. I think this year maybe the one of the most fun (at least most anticipated) years at KI for both Katie and I. Today will drag. It's nothing shy of wonderful being able to do things with a teenager and having her not dread hanging out with her mom. I am hoping to be available at 4:00 for the announcement, but I am at work. I know a few have my cell # can someone text me the news when it's announced?! I am thinking the announcement will be what's going on in the target. It could be the target area and shows. Eagles would be a sweet, sweet thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk8 points

We can not assume that whatever is going on in the circle in AZ is going to be the announcement today.8 points

I think Flying Eagles would be even more awesome if they are placed up on Flight Commander's old ride pad. Gemini XL-200, still hoping that ride pad becomes home to a ride sometime in the next few years.8 points

One can do both. Just wait. The day will come when some spieling (bleck) grasshopper will kindly advise you that the ride you were about to board is perhaps too rambunctious for you. For me, it was Jumping Jack Flash aka Jump2 at Great Advencha, about a decade ago. I looked the lad in the eye and sternly advised "I will be the judge of that, young man!" Then proceeded to ride it about six times in a row (it was a rainy Thursday).7 points

To each there own I guess, but they are no need for all the complaints I've been hearing about the announcement. Not everything Kings Island announces will be geared to the Thrill Seekers, just saying.7 points

Yay. I won't be judged for not being a big fan of coasters. It's not a fear, I just don't like the feeling of my stomach sitting next to my brain. It gives me a headache. That's part of the reason I hope today's announcement is the Eagles, it would be something new for me to ride. And, there wasn't a particular ride that made me not enjoy them. My cousins forced me to ride Adventure Express, and the lap bar forced me to sit down. I came off in pain with bruised legs. Which, of course reinforced the thought of coasters being un-enjoyable. I now ride Adventure Express regularly. Another reason that the Eagles would make me very happy, is because when telling my mom about them, she told me how much my late mam-maw loved them. I was very close to her, and I think getting to ride something she loved, even if not the originals, would make me feel close to her. She freaked my mom out the first time my mom rode them; guess who was snapping! Sent from my VS840 4G using Tapatalk7 points

Wow. I feel you- I'm kind of in the same boat, though technically I did have two chances to ride Son of Beast: in its opening season of 2000, but I was a 10-year-old kid and the sheer size of the ride alone scared me a bit back then all by itself (and another ride I rode scared me that very day as well). Then, in 2009 when I was overcoming my fear of roller coasters for the first time, and having just ridden Diamondback (along with Beast & Vortex earlier in that day), I headed over to SOB to ride it and...it broke down. Oddly, it never re-opened but was testing all day, so at least I got to see it running empty trains and stuff that visit. I would not return to Kings Island until May 2010, however, and by then SOB was closed...for good. Oh, and the ride that spooked me into a fear of roller coasters on that visit in 2000? The Racer. Didn't realize what "airtime" was and thought I was actually flying out of the ride. Ironic, eh? Or perhaps Racer just is NOT a good starter roller coaster...7 points

See, that's the thing. It's not a "missed opportunity" for me. It's that I never even had the chance. As an 8- or 9-year-old kid (I forget which), The Racer spooked me so bad back in the mid-90s that thrill rides were not something I ever even thought about until I saw a Kings Island Gold Pass commercial on TV in spring of 2010, and even then it took about a month from my first visit to work myself up to Diamondback and learn to enjoy thrill rides. So I never had a single chance to ride it, yet for the better part of three seasons I went to the park on a regular basis and saw it sitting there SBNO. So I'm slightly miffed that I had to look at it for three seasons and never had one chance to ride it.7 points

We already are receiving Banshee and The Bat is currently being repainted... Banshee is the cake, The Bat will be the icing, and if this announcement turns out to be something exciting, then it will only be sprinkles onto the treasure we already have! And if this announcement doesn't particularly interest you, than well, that's why their building Banshee... [This post was moved from Banshee Construction Progress]6 points
