  1. Who in the right mind would vote to remove Adventure Express?

  2. Once again, Don has asked us to only link to the official release, NOT embed the map in the forums. It's all good! This year's park guide and map is the best one that we've had since I've been with the park. A lot more useful information is called out. As for the former Crypt building, it is not being removed. It's not in use Opening Day through Labor Day so it was taken out. It will return on the Haunt map in the fall.

  4. None, because the park has more than enough room to expand without removing attractions.

  6. When you don't know when SFA opens, nor do you particularly care (even if it is only 17 miles away), but you know darn well when your two most favorite large corporate regional seasonal (SIX consecutive FUN adjectives, Jonathan) parks open: NJFTP, April 12, and Kings Island, April 18. As for Big Droppy Thing, I hear a Banshee wailing. Or is it me?

  7. I was at the park today for job processing and I saw Banshee testing. It looked awesome!! Is it April 18th yet? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Yesterday on the way home from practice (well the "Long Way" as far as my parents know ) I stopped by GWL to check out testing. I didn't see any of Banshee move but I did see The Bat have a train on the block brake I all of its orange and black glory. Also the station from the highway looks gigantic.

  13. Action Theater is not labelled as an attraction on the 2014 map, as it was in previous seasons, so I wouldn't expect any film this year. I think the Dinosaurs Alive pricing is a big improvement. It's a much better deal for families & passholders, which will hopefully lead to more utilization.

  14. Guys...the map isn't about having exact depictions of all the rides. The map is just a piece of paper meant to help people find their way around the park. Nothing more.

  15. I got bored and figured I'd fulfill this request. Looking at pictures I decided to subtract 24 feet from the lift height to account for how high off the ground it starts. Using Google Earth I got a ground length of 230 feet and calculated the length of the lift to be about 270 feet. Going further, based on the times you gave, I determined the speed up the lift to be 10.8-12.3 mph.

  16. I was just driving on the road about 15 minutes ago and out of the corner of my eye I saw Banshee going through the dive loop (don't worry, I was being a safe driver!). It was beautiful!!! Also, Skyflier looks like it's almost done being re-painted; there's just one spot on the top of the arch that still needs new paint.

  17. On the same day Banshee's announcement date was announced, this video was released. The person making the video claimed to have had Banshee's blueprints. Some thought it was fake, but some thought it was real. Just 26 more days until Banshee Media Day and Scream for A Kid Again, and 27 more days until Opening Day 2014!

It's not in use Opening Day through Labor Day so it was taken out. It will return on the Haunt map in the fall. I prefer the old map style from the Paramount days, honestly. However, I much prefer the GPS map on the app. In my opinion, it looks much nicer and more proportional than the official map. Why don't you use that? Also, thanks for answering questions and stuff like that here. It means a lot to us. Diamondback96, who feels like he should change his avatar, as the Diamondback logo is copyrighted by Cedar Fair, LP or its subsidiaries. He also would like a username change, but feels like one is enough. He should also stop rambling; that would be nice, wouldn't it?

  19. ^^ At this point, id rather just wait to see it in its entirety in person. I wouldn't be mad if he posted a few picture updates, but i wouldn't be upset if he didn't either. I feel that this will be a ride where you have to see it (the theming and all) in person to do it justice (especially at night)!

  21. NONE ... NONE ... NONE ... none ... none ... none ... none ...none ... (Honestly, I think the answer to all these "chopping block" threads has been duly noted quite enough.) And just for reference, Flight Deck, Congo Falls, Timber Wolf theater, Slingshot, Action Theater, Boo Blasters, and the Crypt building all have been confirmed by Don himself that they're not going anywhere in the forseeable future: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/28216-chopping-block/page-1#entry554570 (see post #4)

  22. Now we look back to when silver combs were sent to Media people when the announcement date for the new record breaking attraction would be. http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/news/kings-island-to-unveil-new-attraction/nY8zm/ Just 27 days until Banshee Media Day and Scream for A Kid Again, and 28 days until Opening Day 2014! And enjoy your weekend!

  23. The Carly Rae concert was a nightmare operations wise. It wouldn't be hard at Kings Island because they have a proper venue for it. Timberwolf needs updated, but I think it would be great for KI to have concerts every once in a while with bands that have medium levels of popularity.

  24. ask Don, he is the almighty overlord when it comes to stuff like that. We have, and will continue to ask, that unauthorized photos and videos of Banshee being tested not be posted on this site at this time. We appreciate your cooperation with this request.

  26. How many of these "what would you remove" threads are we going to get on here? Who's actually thinking about removing a ride? How about we leave the rides alone and only remove something if it's broken (ex. Son of Beast). Now upgrading or "re-theming" is a great idea, but removing is not something I want to do to any of the rides that are currently there. I enjoy pretty much everything that's at the park right now and wouldn't want to see anything go.

  28. We just happened to be at the park last year while Spirit Song was going on. Besides enjoying a great concert while being on Drop Tower, from that vantage point it was clear that the entire amphitheater was filled. I doubt it will be going anywhere anytime soon.

  32. How in the world were the attractions in this poll chosen? Completely arbitrarily, I'd imagine. I don't want to see any ride go. Unless that ride is Son of Beast, but I don't think we'll be having to worry about that anymore.

  36. I love this ride. My daughter, one of her friends and I rode it. We still laugh about it. "Are you ready girls?" "No!" "Get ready we are going on 3! One!" "No!" "Two!" I pull the cord in two of course. What a rush on that drop. If I was not on the pull side we'd still be up there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  38. I've never been on this type of ride before...even with all the times I've been to CP, I've never gone on RipCord. I really want to go on one though. They sound like they're unlike anything else and provide such a unique thrill. And Xtreme Skyflyer's new paint looks great!

  39. For those wondering about the old Crypt building not being on the map, Don said in the Banshee Construction Progress thread that the Crypt's building is not being removed because it's not in use Opening Day through Labor Day. It will be back on the map during Halloween Haunt. Here's the link to that post: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/27917-Banshee-construction-progress/?p=601958

  45. CoasterForce has posted a POV of the new ride: My opinion of the new addition: wow! Not only does the roller coaster appear to be a thrilling, enjoyable attraction, but it's very unique and noteworthy for multiple reasons: there's both a launch(es) and a lift hill, the ride travels forwards and backwards, it utilizes remnants from the former Adventure Mountain, and, for a seasonal park, it has some great themeing and effects. But the best part, in my opinion? The 39" height requirement. The only coaster a 39" child can ride at Kings Island is Great Pumpkin Coaster, which is tiny compared to Dollywood's new attraction. And don't get me wrong, Banshee looks great. But our park could really benefit from future additions similar to this one, which can accommodate whole families.

  46. Nickelodeon Mega Mess-a-Mania, August 1995 My brother was picked as a contestant on stage (he's wearing the goggles with right hand on head to the left of the ladder). My friends' brother, Kyle, was picked to control the splash tower. Emergency Green Slime Shower Pit. Two people under the A/B showers would push or someone would pull the lever between the showers, one of the two would get "slimed." My brother is in the white shirt with hands on his hips, my friend Kyle on the left, and me getting "slimed." Don't know the other two kids.
