  1. I stopped by Guest Services last night and asked the guy working, "Where's the petition we need to sign to bring back the old I-Street movie music?" He laughed and said he missed it too. He also said they'd already had "many" (his words, not mine) complaints and comments since they made the change 2 weeks ago. He also said he would pass along that he's getting a lot of comments about it, most of them about bringing back the old music. At least the front line employees are aware that people want it back.

  2. Unfortunately, yes. I went to Guest Services, where the people there were just talking about it! I am definitely not the only one who has expressed concern for the music, as they have fielded a number of other guest comments about the absence of the classical music that belongs on International Street. The Guest Services people also don't know why the music was switched, but one thing is for certain: we all miss it.

  3. I finally rode Mystic Timbers for the first time on Sat. (I wanted to wait till the "new coaster" lines died down and with the small crowd on Sat. it was time.)I actually rode 3 times in roghly an hour. For my first ride after talking in line I was advised that my first ride should be front row so that is what I did and it was great, from the time you leave the station it was all go, even the lift hill had some "story lines" to keep you involved so never a dull moment. Front row was great. For my second ride I rode back row ,it was awesome getting pulled over the first drop and through the rest of the ride. For my third ride I sat in the middle (row 6),another awesome ride. I think one of my favorite surprise elements of the ride was the little "fake tilt" near the end of the ride.(Reminds me of King Cobra's similar element.) I think this will be on my must do list from now on.(with a reasonable line) Later, Mark P.S. I got bat, snake, bat.

  4. I completely agree with this statement. It's such a small change but really diminishes the appeal of I-Street. I've been struggling with the appropriate tone of my correspondence to the park as well. My wife and I are a regular everyday married, no children couple. Neither of us possess any (known) superpowers. That being said, I cannot express how glorious it is to walk through the gates and come upon the fountains, sunset at your back, to hear the opening drum cadence of Fanfare for the Common Man. Truly one of my most memorable KI experiences. I hope they reconsider their decision.

  5. Aside from a mouse or some sort of family coaster, I'd like to see KI be the home of a B&M floorless coaster at some point.

  6. Agreed. We stayed from 3 to 10. Slight drizzle and 60 degrees kept most folks away. The only ride I saw down was Viking Fury. Diamondback went down for 10 minutes but was back up. Staffing was the best I have seen all season, so I suspect that the rest of the weekend will be the same. Be warned, we have been 26 times and I saw more protein spill cleanup last night than all season long so far. I guess the $1 goodies were taken overboard

  7. I was able to catch-up with Don Helbig at Kings Island today for an update on Haunt, Winterfest, and to see if there are any clues for a 2018 announcement. Enjoy!

  8. Well Cedar Point was a disaster today. The entire main lot was 100% full and the overflow lot was about 80%. Fastlane was $150 and Maverick's Fastland queue was out the gate and wrapped around and almost into frontier inn. Millennium Force had a 3 hour wait at one point; it also had its Fast Lane queue full. GateKeeper, Valravn, and Wicked Twister were full queues. The All Wheels Exteme show was 100% full which is super rare. Overall it was an awful day to be at the park. Food lines actually weren't bad. Atleast the weather was nice...

  9. The wife and I were there from about 3-10 as well. I must've been unlucky because Zephyr was down all day, Surf Dog was down from about 6 on, as well as the aforementioned Viking Fury. I can also confirm that food staffing levels were the highest I've seen all season. We ate at all 3 La Rosa's and the food was hot and fast at all 3.

  10. Was anyone who reads this thread at the park today? If so, was there pop music on IS?

  11. Mystic Timbers is wonderfully themed. The park did a wonderful job with it. But it wasn't themed to the original Rivertown. It's kind of an oddity that the Miami Riiver Lumber Co fits in so well, but would have been abandoned 11 years after the park opened. Not to be argumentative, but I just want Coney to stay Coney. And I want instrumental music back on International Street.

  12. I believe that if you go to the self-service payment plan window next to lost and found (far right of the group sales building), you can do the payment plan there. I don't know if that allows you to bypass the convenience fee, though.

  14. Very light traffic today, at least earlier today. Food lines are short, KI clearly expected super heavy loads. Ice Cream in kiddie land has like 15 people working. Lines are separated between normal food and dollar days which is very very smart. When i left at 1 one one ride had a wait, looked like everything was up and running.

  15. @Hmrapp I'm not discounting that it's eventual....I'm just saying I don't see it in the exact near future as some in this thread do. It doesn't have to be justified to me as to why it'd be a good addition, I want one....but as I keep saying, I don't see it happening when others are saying it will. Employees that work at Kings Island aren't exactly the best source on coming attractions as they are not told the future plans.....even if they are if they discuss it they can and will be terminated. I used to work for the park and I can guarantee that those who think they know what is coming isn't always factual. The fact is, one poster here said it something like this, those who don't know say something, those who do don't.
