I'd like to see the trains become a little less restrictive. I definitely can ride, but there has to be a little help getting the bar to the right spot to click the stupid seat belt.
I think the photo is authentic and was sent in from the Sally Dark Rides workshop. It would make the most sense with how the coat is wrinkled (that kind of velvety fabric often wrinkles very easily) and by how it looks like the organ pipes are currently awaiting cuts for the holes (you can see the marking template centered on its green dot on the center pipe). I wouldn't be surprised if SDR has a Santa Claus coat and hat among their collections made to fit their average figures. I hope if we do get a holiday overlay we can see that coat get ironed first
This does have me wondering if we will see PT:ON operating during Haunt as well, considering Boo Blasters didn't these last few years. I thought it was open all day pre-2020, but I could be wrong. If it has really good ridership in the regular season (which I would think it will) then it might be an easy decision.
I wonder if any more work has been done on the roof or if it still has all of that white tape(?) all over it.
AI doesn’t do a good job of detailing things that a high quality camera can. You can see the individual strands of hair, the fuzz in the coat, etc. Also piano keys are consistent so I would argue the image is authentic.
The track is fine I think, they just need to do better with keeping the trains up because it seems like after they do a proper train overhaul, it's great, but then back to the usual offseason work and it starts getting some rattle and vibration again. They used to do those proper overhauls more often, sometimes just on one train each year and there was a serious difference.
At least smooth out the track on par with how KD's runs. New trains would honestly be a help, especially with less confining leg restraints.
An indoor lighting package and maybe some music in the spaghetti bowl (not sure how the weight would affect things with on-board audio, so I'll accept speakers in the bowl). Something snazzy to build up the launch would be cool, too.
I actually have this little idea I brainstormed of FOF getting a full makeover with new style premier track, trains, and LSMs as well as theming/lighting upgrades. They could even change an element or 2 if wanted. It would cost the same as a new coaster though, but I think it would be great if done right. FOF really fills a major need at parks in the summer time with an indoor ride so I think once FOF starts to reach the end of its life instead of tearing it down they should completely renovate it.
Really, multiple holiday overlays could be beneficial to KI as a passholder park the same way Haunted Mansion Holiday draws big local crowds to Disneyland. Especially with the state of the chain and the canceling of seasonal events. Would be a great way to drive attendance with something “new.” Whether or not that attendance would affect revenue is another story.
Would be cool to see!
The Bat got some work done to it, as did Adventure Express, and now even Invertigo looks like it’s getting some TLC. That leaves FoF which is the other large 90s coaster. Has this coaster been through any renovations lately? I know it’s difficult to visually tell because it’s enclosed.
I thought I heard somewhere that the original intent was to have it change for the holidays which would’ve made sense considering they kept the ride open for WF.
To be honest, after 8 years of it existing, it’s shocking that they never had any holiday scenes rendered, or even new scenes in general.
They're looking good so far! I hope they can achieve a little more of a glossy red for the final product, but even the current finish looks like a nice change compared to the Boo Blasters "oozy" look. The fact that the roundels are still on there is a little strange since they went through the trouble of rendering the rest of the doom buggies without them for the teaser art.
