  1. Nope. You can get small complimentary cups of water, without the food plan, at most drink stands. But not the bottled water with the drink plan.
  2. I get the times have very much changed, but there's no reason you can't get some mid-level bands to play there. A young up and coming band or older, past their prime act (the kind you see play minor league stadiums for example). The potential revenue does not merit worth the time and money I suppose. I'd love to see a Gin Blossoms / Huey Lewis type band on a random weekend!
  3. I remember working the parking lot in 1996, which is a position I don't think exists anymore. Anyways, our role was to assist traffic flow and to also alert security if you see anything that could potentially be an issue (seeing anything illegal, drinking, drugs, odd behavior, PDA in and out of cars, etc). I will say that, at least back then, the park was proactive in trying to spot and remove potentially unruly guests. And yes, people do really stupid things in a parking lot.
  4. When you LOL @King Ding Dong at “OMG it still works! I can’t beleive it!” Then smile when you check out the webcam and see Banshee testing!
  5. When you go on youtube looking for a park review or walk through, only to end up watching one you've already seen several times...
  6. Great post @TombRaiderFTW The shed is fine. The coaster is awesome. I'm more curious to see if the dispatching will be as awesome on that ride as it was this year, as well as how the popularity holds up. In a perfect world, I think we'd see a ton more theming all over KI...improved, updated, etc. It doesn't cost a ton in most cases...all it takes is some time and manpower. I could imagine one of KI's biggest issues is manpower itself. Where do you find the people to do the work when you have a constant schedule of offseason maintenance, building, cleaning, etc. Then when the season starts they seemingly can't find enough help to man the most basic food stations, or so it seems. Not a knock on the park, just an observation.
  7. Great, quality video. Oh, Paramount...giving you the credit for the top 3 blunders in KI history, non "someone died" category... 1. SOB 2. Tomb Raider fiasco 3. Removing antique cars and putting an "Action Zone" in a beautiful area of the park.
  8. I'll be really vague and say most of the nicer or more popular food options. It's just not worth it. And it's not about the price. That's the nature of the business and I don't complain about that one bit, to do so is ignorant. It is the time that it usually takes to get anything. I'll wait 20 minutes for a good coaster, but not fast food. Ain't happening.
  9. Wow, that's awesome! I love the POV video and narrative. And the generic and very out of place rockabilly type background music playing makes it sounds pretty funny.
  10. Not sure about an extra coaster, but there is a lack of rides for the 8-10 year old's, for what it's worth. They feel too old for the kiddie stuff but not big enough for the larger rides.
  11. Your blog is great, keep up the good work!
  12. The Racer is a historic, important landmark of a ride. It deserves top notch treatment and care more than any coaster. It deserves a nice red, white and blue repaint. And some track work...getting rough.
  13. What months are ERT for the fountain this year?
  14. I hang my head in shame...you are correct.
  15. ^Technically, not until opening day and/or it's first ride cycle will it be part of four decades. Sorry, couldn't resist
  16. I worked at KI in '96 and was given several CD's from radio stations and/or promoters as I was working. I remember thinking how awesome that was.
  17. Ha. I just watched an AE pov video. I'm really getting in offseason desperation mode.
  18. I'll never understand the hate for this ride. It's awesome on a hot summer day. KI would not benefit from tearing a ride down just to tear it down. Timberwolf on the other hand...book some shows dangit! I'd love to see Weird Al there!
  19. What in your opinion are some totally random, oddball, under rated things in the park? A certain seat on a ride, thing to do, etc... 1. Ms. Pac Man in the 80's shop. Cool. 25 cent coin op arcade! 2. Front seat on The Bat. So much better than any other seat on this ride. 3. Congo Falls on a hot, busy day. Never a line, get a quick ride in and get refreshed without being soaked. 4. History of the park. Catching old PKI logos or relics from old rides. I wish the park emphasized the history of it more. 5. The few weeks where they played instrumental music at the entrance. 6. Ride ops. Most are very good at what they do. 7. Old School train conductors. Cool to see that tradition still.
  20. IMO Flying Ace has the worst wait time than any ride in the park (based on how long any given line takes, that is). No VR or updates on it, except for a 2nd car. I second what @KImom said. Bat front row might be one of the most under rated thing in the park...so good!
  21. Good topic! I always thought it was odd they named rides off of movies that weren't really that big. I mean, Face off, for instance...a pretty popular movie for a few months in 1996. You couldn't keep that "this is based off the movie" theme for too long. So to answer the question, I'd image a name change every few years for certain rides. Yet, for whatever reason, AE was never re-themed after Indiana Jones...why?! Paramount has the rights to it. Heck, they even had a replica of the artifact from Raiders in the Paramount Story in tower gardens.
  22. Steak or wings? #Outback STEAK is the operative word. *pulls up KI webcamp looking for steaks in ground...anywhere*
  23. Cool! Will have to check this out. Nice "outside the box" thinking for a good promotion.
  24. I know this would never happen...but why not a comedy set? I don't think that was ever done, but would be something different.
