  1. My guess is 2024 will be our next coaster, but I've been wrong before. My guess is an RMC or a Mack double launch. But I could see us getting more B&Ms since the plant is only a few miles away.
  2. I think a construction webcam will be installed after the announcement, but again, Carowinds installed Copperhead Strike's construction cam for a short time before their announcement.
  3. I think that's just a special ERT night. If there was an announcement being made, they would've mentioned an announcement.
  4. Found this on YouTube. This is from Diamondback construction and it shows that track pieces arrived on site before the announcement. I wonder if that'll happen this year.
  5. If this ends up being the case, length wise we are between I305 and Leviathan. So we aren't going to have the shortest track length. We also would be faster than I305. Also @DustinTheNow when should we expect a POV of this thing??
  6. I'm thinking around 2023-2025 is when we'll get our next coaster. I've thought about many things. I'm right now thinking either ground up RMC or a Mack Double launch. But I would look for it to be more closer to 2025 than 2023 because this giga is such a large investment. Part of me thinks the recession had something to do with it. Then again, Carowinds went 5 years between Intimidator and Fury. I don't think that'll be a straight section of track. I think maybe that is a banked turn into the speed hill. Kind of a reverse of Leviathan's where it pops up and curves down. With this one it curves up and pops.
  7. Very rarely do parks celebrate anniversaries with major investments. It's starting to look like CP isn't getting a coaster for their 150th anniversary (even though it isn't confirmed yet). I believe our 50th anniversary will be a throwback/celebration year.
  8. I just gave John Matarese a heads up on Facebook about the footer work starting!
  9. I don't know much about construction, but it looks like a footer or something was dug where I marked.
  10. I think they are going to market it as the park's tallest, fastest, and meanest coaster. They'll most likely will market it as a giga since it has a 300 foot drop. As much as I think them marketing it as the tallest hyper coaster is a possibility, it doesn't make too much sense imo if they have a stat that could make it a giga. Plus they already have a hyper coaster. Imo if we get a second hyper, it should be by a different manufacturer (like RMC) and be a different model.
  11. At Carowinds they have an interactive Plants vs Zombies dark ride experience in their theatre.
  12. I always thought that the higher the drop is the faster it goes.
  13. So once the giga comes out, what coaster is everyone going to speculate and ask for next?
  14. ^^On Diamondback last evening after hitting the break run, I said "If you thought this was great, wait until next year." Then this girl turned around and asked what is next year. I then explained that we are getting a 300 foot coaster and she was like she's in. A 300 foot coaster will be talked about all over the area. The locals would go nuts over it.
  15. Wasn't Copperhead Strike's layout leaked towards the beginning of the season at Carowinds?
  16. Both Banshee and Mystic Timbers I believe had the plans shown to the media and such a while before the announcement, but not as early as this one was. I'm sure the park will keep this in mind a lot more. for the next big project that blueprints likely will get out pretty early. Maybe they aren't surprised about this since they know the interest of the fans. Either way can't wait for teasing to start!
  17. I have another theory. I wonder if they are going smaller because of the amount of theming this coaster might have. CF seems to be going all out on theming now (ie. Copperhead Strike). Maybe they'll build a realistic spacecraft model or something like that. Just a theory of mine.
  18. I think the names are okay. Definitely not great though. Although it's better than the whole Mystic Timbers/Twisted Timbers/Yukon Striker thing they were doing before. I don't like either of those names.
  19. I'm sure KI will still consider it a giga coaster and market the 300 foot drop. I'm not upset about this at all. I just don't know if they'll market it as a hyper coaster when they have the 300 foot drop to market it as a giga coaster. BGW markets Apollo's Chariot as a hyper when only the drop is in hyper range. To me this is more something we haven't seen before with a giga. This is more the Apollo's Chariot as a giga, but we'll see. Plus they can market it as the park's tallest, fastest, and meanest coaster.
  20. It seems like he made a new thread called "Buy your documents now"
  21. The biggest issue I've noticed is the chicken shack in AZ. The food is good don't get me wrong, but the restaurant itself is chaotic. I'm not a big fan of their system. You get an order number and you wait for them to call out your number. The issue is that on busy days, it gets really loud in there and they don't have a microphone to call out the numbers or even a screen where order numbers can pop up on. So it's very hard to hear the order numbers. In fact last fall at haunt, they said the numbers out of order and there were some people by me who said that they were waiting in there for over 30 minutes and many people behind them got their food before them and it was so crowded and was so much racket in there that it was so hard to hear my number. I like the chicken shack, but the chaotic scene it causes in there is my biggest issue. I actually prefer the way it was before where you ordered and got your food and went to the cashier.
  22. A 300 foot drop would actually be good. Millennium Force has a 300 foot drop and it's actually a really long lasting drop. I'd expect this to be a nice long drop that would scare the socks off some of the general public.
  23. Another good way to market it is similar to how they marketed WindSeeker back in 2011 in the park. They had a WindSeeker sign that said 58X taller than this sign. I was going to upload a picture, but for some reason the upload keeps failing.
  24. That looks like it'll be used for the ride operators.
