  1. They could fit a large scale Gravity Group like Voyage or Hades 360 here. Came up with a little concept for the station/start of lift hill and brake run. The brake run would be long as the coaster would have to run 3 trains. The coaster would include an MCBR as well for that reason.
  2. Rock the Smokies which is a sister festival to Spirit Song run by the same organizers that takes place at Dollywood is back this year. So maybe a little glimpse of hope for Spirit Song and other events going forward...we'll see. https://www.facebook.com/rockthesmokies
  3. My sister is working at Coney Subway this year so it is definitely going to still be here. Now for the future, IDK. I definitely think we'll start seeing the chain restauarants (except Larosas and Skyline as those are Cincy staples) start to disappear at the park and be replaced with the park's own versions of them and park originals.
  4. For a walkthrough attraction, we'd need a way to get all the way back there. That would be a long narrow walk there. Plus if you take into account needing extra labor for ways to attract people back there and other business reasons, I think it would make more sense to have a giant coaster start either at the SOB station or in the area between AE and FOF and go back and use that land.
  5. I'm honestly expecting some sort of new ride next year. Park improvements like we saw this off season are nice, but I don't think we should ride on park improvements for 3 straight years. I think we should get a new ride of some type along with general park improvements. It can even be a small family ride or a slide in Soak City, but I think a new ride is coming next year. What type? Idk and I have absolutely no inside information.
  6. I don't expect a new coaster for 2023 as we are the latest park to get a major coaster (Tumbili isn't major). I think a new flat ride is what I have my money on for next year. Probably in Action Zone. Or I could see a Planet Snoopy expansion or something in Soak City.
  7. Early forecast calls for partly cloudy and upper 50s/lower 60s for pass preview day. Then a chance of rain and in the 50s on opening day. Then partly cloudy, but low 50s on Easter Sunday. If this weather holds, expect huge crowds on preview day.
  8. The current wait for Orion is: 6 days, 8 hours, and 30 minutes.
  9. They could do a drop out of the station and do a tunnel under Banshee and start the lift hill on the other side. That would require disassembling part of Banshee to dig the tunnel and putting the pieces back into place when that part of construction is completed similar to what Wonderland did with Vortex for Yukon Striker's tunnel. However, that would probably cost a lot of money to do and may not be worth it from a business standpoint.
  10. Look at all these banners lining the pathway to the entrance! https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/1511849011296276482/photo/1
  11. The 50th banner was put up over the entrance! https://www.instagram.com/p/Cb8B4Nvpfxt/
  12. Some more details have been released in regards to "a golden celebration" https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/50th-anniversary/golden-celebration EDIT: Here are some screenshots of some of the things planned: 50 years of fun street party: Club KI: Fireworks: Taste the Tradition:
  13. And look who's reporting on it...lol And before anyone asks, NO I had nothing to do with it!
  14. I believe the park has said numerous times Racer would never run backwards again due to CF's safety standards and it not being designed to be run backwards.
  15. Spirit Song isn't even scheduled this year and this would be the 3rd season without it. So I honestly think its done unless like I've said before they decide to bring it back and hold it in the parking lot like Cedar Point.
  16. Now if only they would retheme it to Rivertown where it belongs...
  17. Made an Action Zone expansion based off of what Carowinds is supposedly getting next year: Rides include: an S&S scream n swing replacing Congo a zamperla air race a zamperla nebulaz a trabant ride Also features a new food stand and keeps the Timberwolf stage for shows
  18. I also hope this is only phase one of that area. I think they could connect the pathway to the other side of Afterburn where Dinosaurs Alive was and add a new coaster there themed around the new area. I think a B&M launched wing like Thunderbird would be a great fit at Carowinds. We sorta already have that with Area 72. I do think they should expand off of Area 72 and add some of these style flats (like an air race and nebula).
  19. They literally shut things down whenever there is a spike in cases. Hong Kong Disneyland has been closed since January. There is no need for KI or any park to close again. KI operated during the delta and omicron surges with few restrictions this past year and had no issues. We need to stop living in fear.
  20. and yet it probably won't be open very much if at all lol @King Ding Dong
  21. Speaking of the area around tower, does anyone else agree that they should someday replace the blacktop that circles around the Eiffel Tower and goes under it with nice pavers like the rest of I-street? I just don't like the blacktop imo just because I think it would make the area around tower look much better if they someday put pavers there.
  22. Mike Koontz did say at Coasterstock last year that he has a long list of things he wants to get done before he retires. It was when he was asked about a potential upgrade to the front entrance and he said that is on the list so all that stuff you mentioned must also have been on his list as well.
  23. I may be in the minority, but I actually liked Frontier Inn when I went in 2016 and I was sad when they changed it back to Chick Fil A. I just like park original stuff more than chain stuff. I also thought Frontier Inn fit with that building better than Chick Fil A does.
  24. If Subway does in fact leave, I would honestly like to see KI get a sub sandwich stand of their own that is like subway. Maybe in an indoor dining establishment in Planet Snoopy that has been talked about here before. Chick Fil A I don't see leaving as it almost always has a line that spills out onto the midway. Skyline and Larosas I don't see leaving either as those are Cincy staples and I'm sure the park wants to continue to cater to the locals as well. Plus, I know multiple people who prefer the Larosas in the park over the ones outside the park.
