VIP Experience coming to KI in 2022
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
If I were to take a guess, it'll be in this grass area: Would honestly be a good place to set up a tent like CP did. I think either this area or International Restaurant (I hope not the IR because I think they should honestly open the International Restaurant for everyone like they do for Winterfest.) -
Seems like KI will be offering the VIP experience similar to what CP did last year! https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2022/april/kings-island-to-introduce-two-all-new-vip-experiences-for-2022-season?fbclid=IwAR30bfU2DlI40_p4Hvn5tvdXHb7DI2nEGRi9VFjmNKEb7YZ87_E334rMdyE

On the Cedar Point Webcam if you look closely to the left hand side, you can see they put up a wooden fence in the area near Wicked Twister. More specifically it is up around the area where the old stadium was where for the last few seasons they had a stage and grass area there. Its also where they had one of the VIP lounges last year. This also isn't the first time a fence was put up there. If you may recall, they put a fence up there after they tore down the stadium for the construction of the stage that was put there. It makes me wonder, why are they putting a fence up there now? Are they building a new stage for later this year? Are they not going to use that area at all this year? Could it be for an even bigger project that includes Wicked Twister's plot of land? If you look closely, you can see the fence also goes into part of the midway as well so basically the pathway there will be in half this season. It'll be interesting to see what this becomes. Possibly, but I honestly think the grass area near DB's brake run would be a good spot for something like that. I think Tower Gardens would be better used as Tower Gardens with some sort of legacy walk or something. That's just me.

**DOUBLE POST** Here is a screenshot from a video from the top of the Eiffel Tower of what Timberwolf looks like now: Link to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EE3yNYMtVmQ -
They actually used that area for the Banshee brew fest back in 2015/16 when they did it. That's where they had picnic tables, cornhole boards, and the live music stage set up.

Yeah I have heard rumblings in the past that they could put a VIP lounge in the grass area near Diamondback's brake shed as well as the International Restaurant. Don't quote me on that though as it was just an idea brought up in conversations.

There has also been some action around Timberwolf. It looks like the stage and the sign has been painted. Also from the ET (I don't have pictures) I saw a new pathway that wasn't there last year that starts near the smoking area and goes under Invertigo and connects to the path that goes under Congo Falls to the Timberwolf plaza area. The path also has fences on both sides as if they are going to have people walking on it. It could be just for employees or I think a cool idea they could use it as another entrance for those who want to see shows there without getting park admission if they were to do concerts there again (the fact that it got a fresh coat of paint makes me think they are going to use it again just nothing has been announced yet). I also saw in the area between the stage and the greenroom trailer some new concrete put down and all the trees cleared there. It also had a small fence in front of it that made it look like it could be a viewing area of some type. Maybe even a VIP area for concerts. I'll draw what I saw on Google Maps so you can get an idea of what I saw. Here is a pic of Timberwolf taken this weekend: Source: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=3202458296643050&set=pcb.3202458336643046 Here's a pic taken last year: Source: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=4438133622899854&set=bc.AbrsaDtIV6OfB5n6DWLOS61mXTDZZ1eJy5uvcVfL3PV7r9oRYWQohsNNvywHKdr7gJNoHaint1Ja4zM8rsFdslzEEm3rx89_acsWRZTbOC61w9v7KZYWKxtwwdos4L4hp-2kPFyiZFcO5T2rBZqrr-USYbHVUs0cvbSBa0IhRiMkTg&opaqueCursor=AboYky07uW2wAuXwwgGPusIVM3CcPgBxPz_96axv5ol2FL1Q9b3aTR_6ja7OlTuQZbrr9w0Nz0o2ot66w_NzsjaNt_AsZCNW1_vAwOD2pwrA4MwBhh7oXd0VtxaBtOOFVeb9XIOGY7al5bYPQX089k2MzgV8qlHlKw49T_qvAxqWwZ3dD4OgVN2zuowUgkLQ-GoPImdVFOZqGt70Kgi9iwusrq0aL1vj6zEzv5vhllyYCnOu6BWL5KXAG2VpWrcTGWXso78f2zwqtX_pTtcXzokT98UiVSHfivxSl8HLs0bIeS8PFE1aT8hfgt5pvlD-gj-Yj-SRR2aUoQbqw3V4ooJzBlrA7zmzcjtiR7fZn3qu-I2lo0XeY7kgGlcyR4jJLsA1KR0BSf-1WDjvma7xPOJVHaN9wKNMXtE8L2wS7yWBCkhIsvBqfydXVe3QMavCmCrQ9Xac-E7yPTuJOEQ_PcRoCscn1OC2ihzxBr7uHDk2PAYz4j7WyAtvW4PxXENKt-fc6DPv3scciV0D0VDLXLKatg2FGPBs6mGfGeuSvEBdb59eVOmlb5LSl4U4ZQBB1PEyIIhnXT4_LYhPECOrH9qkxw9BylQC3_Qc84yfy5sXSZCWn4m46oWs9qM_WKC3y8H807m572gXtkOQiRPbXfLbKSJ7g8kPCw_4pVihqJtu6A It'll be interesting to see if anything comes of this and if concerts return either this year or next year. And if so, what type of concerts and if Spirit Song comes back too. We'll see. -

Oh please enough of the whole John Matarese thing. That was almost 3 years ago and I haven't spoken with him since. Plus its been made pretty clear that the park doesn't want us speaking to media personnel directly about the park especially employees (like me). -

Regarding the Son of Beast Station
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to CorkscrewMcPuke's topic in Coming Attractions
Is it just me, or does it feel off that the ride operated with the crane still up? If I were part of the GP and even today, I would feel pretty hesitant about riding when the crane is still up. Maybe that was an early sign the ride was doomed lol. -
2022 Kings Island Park Map Released
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Cedar Fair Fanboy's topic in Kings Island
Are you talking Timberwolf? It's there, but its not labeled. One thing I did notice is that there seems to be a pathway that starts right by the ticket booth and goes under Invertigo and Congo right to Timberwolf's plaza area. I checked last year's map and that wasn't there last year. Based on how it looks, it looks like it could be used as a walkway to Timberwolf from the front gate if they were to do concerts there again. -

The SOB station is not on any of my past park maps I have. -
A little rendering on the park map of what the block party could look like. Reminds me of Celebrate 150 at CP a little: A rendering of Off the Rails: Link to download map from KI website: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/directions

They could fit a large scale Gravity Group like Voyage or Hades 360 here. Came up with a little concept for the station/start of lift hill and brake run. The brake run would be long as the coaster would have to run 3 trains. The coaster would include an MCBR as well for that reason. -
Spirit Song no more??
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
Rock the Smokies which is a sister festival to Spirit Song run by the same organizers that takes place at Dollywood is back this year. So maybe a little glimpse of hope for Spirit Song and other events going forward...we'll see. https://www.facebook.com/rockthesmokies -
My sister is working at Coney Subway this year so it is definitely going to still be here. Now for the future, IDK. I definitely think we'll start seeing the chain restauarants (except Larosas and Skyline as those are Cincy staples) start to disappear at the park and be replaced with the park's own versions of them and park originals.
