  1. I actually kinda like the location of the bandstand. It's right in the center of the park and is easily accessed by most pathways. Basically its purpose is to get people to stop and take a listen while they are roaming around the park. It is also a great place to be able to hang and get some awesome entertainment that is energetic and interactive right before the Fireworks. However, I do agree that the hot sun isn't the best as well as it having to cancel/postpone the shows if there is even a little bit of rain. I think an easy answer to that would be to install a roof on top of the bandstand and make it like a festival stage that would also help the performers be able to perform if it rains and not have the sun shining right overtop of them on a really hot sunny day.
  2. Yeah! They are also really nice people! Especially the drummer Billy and his wife Flor who is the percussionist and also sings sometimes. I befriended Billy on FB over the 2019/2020 off-season. I always try to say hello and chat with him whenever I can. You can also tell he likes talking to people who also play drums (like I do myself). I talked to him a little bit today after I was done with my shift at tower and told him that he has the best job in the park. Trust me, I would die to be able to perform on that stage on drums someday.
  3. So like Wonder Mountain Guardian or a bunch of those coasters in Europe that have a preshow before the lift? I wouldn't mind that. Especially for a medieval themed coaster in Action Zone.
  4. It starts June 5th. Maybe they are still in the assembly process? Idk.
  5. Is the stage fully done? If it is anything like the Carowinds one, it'll have a roof on it and there will likely be a truck next to it.
  6. They were anything but bored lol. Everyone was dancing, cheering, and having a wonderful time at the event.
  7. Here's a bigger sneak peak at the new Area 72 launch party:
  8. SpiritSong isn't scheduled for this year so I don't think it is happening. However, I could be wrong and it happens in like the fall or something.
  9. Came up with an RMC concept that uses the land of Congo Falls and Timberwolf (Invertigo would likely be removed, but probably more for a service life and would be removed while the new coaster is being built) The name is Viking Raider
  10. I'm at an associate preview event and we are getting a sneak preview of the new Area 72 launch party and let me say, it is excellent and doesn't really ruin the area too much and I think it'll be a hit with the public! I won't go into too many specifics bc I don't want to risk getting into trouble. I will say there is no one dancing on FOF though, but instead there are performers dancing on platforms and on the dance floor! EDIT: Here is a little sneak peak. This is a pic of me and the cast!
  11. TBH I feel kinda bad for the people putting all the work into the Area 72 launch party only to have it postponed for 2 weeks. I saw a Thrills United video from when they did a photoshoot at Orion the other day and I saw that they were setting up for it.
  12. I made a concept of a front gate upgrade for if they were to do that as part of the anniversary next year. What I did was, I painted the front of the building a light brown color, added 3 new ads for the 2022 season (Nothing is official by the park and I have no inside knowledge on what the park is doing or planning on doing next year. It is all speculation). I then put a ribbon board that would display some ads similar to Cedar Point's entrance (black line at the bottom). I then added a few fake windows with awnings and flags on top of the building. 13. KI actually does have their own police department as well as their own emergency personnel like fire and ambulance. They even have their own 911 system. That"s why they discourage guests from calling 911 on their own phone at the park if an incident happens since it would go right to Mason and it would take longer for them to get there than it would for the park emergency response team if an associate were to call on a park phone which connects straight to the park 911 system.
  14. Another thing is that for several years, they've had the show on the bandstand with River City. Even though it's not a DJ, they usually perform DJ/dance songs and those would draw a crowd especially for the last show before the fireworks and they don't have issues there.
  15. Well KI has done some DJ stuff since then with the Orion announcement and Grand Carnivale. I believe they also did one in Soak City for their Island Nights event and has had no issues that I can recall.
  16. Are you talking the Orion announcement? If so, I don't remember anything major outside from it being shoulder to shoulder, but that was due to the excitement for the announcement and everyone wanting to witness them unveiling the long awaited giga coaster.
  17. It won't let me view it as it is only for subscribers even in an ignoto window.
  18. Isn't your birth date attached to your season pass? If so, they can see that they are under a certain age and not let them in if they don't have an adult with them.
  19. That looked like a really fun event! Honestly, I think the park should hold some sort of festival in the parking lot like they did here in the future! Like for example. if Timberwolf were to be demolished, they could still hold SpiritSong like this.
  20. Have they started setting up for the DJ party in Area 72 yet? With what I saw in the rendering, they are going to have a bunch of stuff to set up and wire up to make it work.
  21. I worked all day at the park yesterday. Luckily I didn't get to witness any fights since I got sent to a ride in Snoopy for the last 4 hours where everyone was very well behaved. I didn't even know the park was closing early. I got sent home like a half hour early, but that was for a different reason. I didn't find out what happened until I talked to a security guard while waiting for my ride. Very unfortunate this happened and I had a talk with another associate and we talked about KY Kingdom's chaperone policy and I told her I wouldn't be shocked if this triggers KI or Cedar Fair in general to implement a similar policy. In fact I've said before places that I wouldn't be shocked if cases like this start happening more often if states start mandating that entertainment venues like theme parks have one of these policies. Very unfortunate, but that's just how the world is becoming. Obviously not all teenagers are bad people.
  22. I recommend watching this video posted by CoastersRUs. I've been on the Cedar Point train since the article came out, but after watching this video a few times and thinking about it especially with the announcement today, I no longer think it's going to Cedar Point. Instead, I'm starting to think it is going to an independent park.
