  2. Trying To Save Conneaut Lake Park: http://www.yourerie.com/news/local-news/trying-to-save-conneaut-lake-park Hmmm. A hotel tax goes to support.... Nothing like a little self interest....
  3. The process? Terp, who likes to ask questions.
  4. Or stick your hands far behind you... Why? That water....
  5. Nope. If you saw it, and at least one user here did this summer, you'd not say that. I'd say it was being fixed up to flip and the sale didn't go through quickly enough or fell through.
  6. See the disclaimer. There's nearly certainly more to this than stated. See also Louisville.
  7. So says this: http://www.mypanhandle.com/news/miracle-strip-amusement-park-evicted Posting of an article containing the posted author's legal conclusions should not be read as actual or implied agreement with or confirmation of the conclusions deduced in the article...
  8. And if I could see my way to go, I'd be there. This year--not likely. See also the GOCC Christmas Party. Terp--currently a reverse vampire--for at least a bit more (like a ride once at Kentucky Kingdom--The Thrill Park).
  9. ...and running better than it did for years. Little to no unexpected downtown.* *not a typo.
  10. It was Chilivision. Which somehow always reminded me of the Technicolor Yawn. Whoever thunk up Chilivision probably didn't get a gold star.
  11. I have always found it somewhat amusing that Philadelphia Toboggan Company was primarily in the ride business with coaster trains and parts as a sideline...while Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters.... Note also they show new things--such as steel coaster trains--that often generate very few sales. It's parts and replacements that have kept Tom Rebbie in business--not so much sales of innovative new trains. See also what became of Morgan coaster trains aka California coaster cars...
  12. I hope you enjoy it all season long. Terp, being an optimist.
  13. Let's just say the trailer style PTC trains were horrendous. And that's being very kind.
  14. Hersheypark expels park guests who make obscene or inappropriate (gang) signs or gestures in onride photos.
  15. Well, well, well. This is certainly interesting news. Incoming Kentucky Governor names Executive Cabinet Secretary: http://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/politics/2015/11/18/louisville-attorney-oversee-bevins-executive-cabinent/75998226/ ...who just so happened to represent Kentucky Kingdom during its sale back in the 90's. Yep. Interesting. VERY interesting. Also an expert in debt restructuring and real estate law. Fascinating. Nervous yet, Messrs Hart, Glasscock and Lunsford? Terp, who likes to ask questions, and who sees some urgency to a 2016 The New Kentucky Kingdom visit. Yes, Sirree.
  16. And gestures in front. Why? Terp, who is becoming an ancient curmudgeon.
  17. How long did the water screen effect work on Boo Blasters On Boo Hill? Terp....who likes to ask questions.
  18. This does not sound like a park that has made or can make a sound case for financial viability achievable during reorganization. Appealing to the public that the public make the case the place should be allowed to continue functioning as a park without regard to sufficient financial responsibilty to be able to pay its creditors responsibly? Really?
  19. WHAT money? The relief sought is removal of the chimp to an animal sanctuary. Attorneys' fees may or may not also be sought.
  20. It wasn't an effort to "smooth the ride out." It was a move to cut maintenance costs over time. Nothing more.
  21. Before you start extolling the 'virtues' of Topper Track, I'd suggest you ride The Georgia Cyclone, a once great wooden coaster that now rides very similarly to the late Son of Beast. Topper Track is no magic solution. It's about economics far more than about rider comfort.
