Let the guy have a dream. Miracles have happened... (maybe not at KI), but they have happened.

Since the entire ride experience (not just the Tomb Raider aspect, but the sequence, effects, and general theme as well) is patented, it doesn't surprise me that Cedar Fair removed the vast majority of themeing from the ride. While copyright may be a valid answer as to why most of the themeing was removed, it still leaves me questioning why The Crypt at Dominion was able to retain most if not all it's original theme. As of the end of the 2011 season at Dominion, the ride still has all the original "monkeys" as seen in the first film (which were removed from our version), Water and fire effects, and original ride music. On top of that, if any of you remember the music that played in the outdoor queue of KI's TRTR, this is now the area music that is played throughout the Congo section at Dominion. I honestly feel that while Dominion did have less themeing than its counterpart, it feels that they kept the overall experience as close to its original ride (which is something I wish we had)

That's really cool, I wonder who came up with the idea to do that?
-
Very well done! Does anyone know the year they began having the fog throughout the park?

These are all based on parks and rides I have been on (never been one to rate rides best to worst, I like or dislike them. The only ride I have ever thought was worth every award was TRTR 2002-2005) Best Theme Park- Islands of Adventure Best Value Park- Holiday World Best Flatride- Would have been Tomb Raider: The Ride... Best Park Food- Dollywood Best Waterpark- Splashing Safari Best Park Staff- Dollywood Best Kids Area- Disney World (honestly it should also win best kids park!) Cleanest Park- Busch Gardens Tampa Most Beautiful Park- Dollywood, Busch Gardens Tampa

SIX Announcements 9.1.2011
Captain Nemo replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I really do like that SIX added something new to each park, whether it be a new ride, shows, or attraction. Each addition is different than the other in many ways. Great America: X-Flight- a B&M Wing rider coaster St. Louis: Bonzai Pipeline- 360* looping bobyslide Magic Mountain: Doom Freefall- 400ft drop ride Mexico: "Stand by for a BIG announcement in the coming months" -CEO Discovery Kingdom: Superman Ultimate Flight- New Premier Launch Coaster New England: Goliath- Giant Boomerang Coaster Great Escape: Alpine Freefalls- New Water slide Complex Over Texas: New live production and return of fan favorite shows. Over Georgia: 6 new shows Fiesta Texas: Skyscreamer & New Shows Great Adventure: Skyscreamer, Bumper cars, Scrambler, and new kids ride LaRonde: "In the coming months, LaRonde will be introducing exciting news for 2012" -CEO America: Apocalypse- B&M Stand-up coaster They have announced something new and different in each park, and while Fiesta Texas and Great Adventure are both getting a Skyscreamer, the parks are located on opposite sides of the nation and getting different additional attractions. I am quite happy with these announcements! -
Or the three Q boxes are hints that will be revealed during the next few weeks maybe. Besides, I do believe the park already announced the new shows next year.
-
As Kirk said, the final show tomorrow will feature performances from last years WTMTV cast. I saw Down Home Country's last show last year and it did the same thing, it was a real treat to see.

I will probably set my alarm at 7am, no use in staying up all night. I'm happy I already have a passport, and if this new ride ends up being everything we hope for I can see most of you getting your passports as well! -Thanks Beast1979 -

You should probably put that image as a link MarkH. There might be people (like me) who don't want any spoilers... -
Canada's Wonderland 2012
Captain Nemo replied to Beast1979's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Pretty sure they are going to name this one Leviathan, obviously playing off of Behemoth coaster. For those that do not know, Behemoth and Leviathan and both Monsters one being the land-monster (behemoth) and the other Sea (Leviathan). There is also Ziz, monster of the air. If you want to can go looking online for a more in depth look at the story behind the creatures, it is really quite interesting, I did a college essay on it two years ago. If you look at the teaser picture below you can see a shadow of a monster in the background... http://www.cwmania.com/forums/download/file.php?id=439&mode=view Here is that same picture just more clearer and decompiled. And here is the first image that comes up in an image search... Hmm..... PS... I am absolutely loving the teasers revolving around this ride! -
Delirium and Backlot Stunt Coaster definitely did because you can see where they used to be and I remember those well. What you see are the old footings for the Queue TV's that used to be in those lines.

WindSeeker and Vortex will be the Early ERT from here on out. Beast and DB had a good run but I for one am excited to see that section of the park in the morning. -
