It would not be that much of a stretch to say it resembles the shambles the parking lot is these days.

And now the roof leaks!

No, I haven't ridden it - I guess I expected a lot more. I'm really still ticked that DT gets such a bad rap - as do most of the other bobsled coasters - and now this comes along and we're supposed to hail it like Jesus' Second Coming. (of course, they should have never covered DT - it was fun the original way)

I found it quite boring - especially after all of the time it took to construct and all of the hype. Everyone pitches a bit** about Disaster Transport at Cedar Point and it is a lot better than this. Edit ------ What the heck - are they payting homage to Adventure Express with that last lift hill?

And before it was Smurf, it was Huckleberry Hound!

I totally agree with Terp. Please let me add the following...... As a professional educator, I MUST report ANY allegations of abuse to law enforcement or I could be held accountable and lose my license. This includes any mention of abuse by anyone & any noticiable abuse actually witnessed or viewed by myself. So even if this turns out to be a "non-story", it must be given full and complete attention.

WildCat at CP Crashed! (again)
Hank replied to PhantomTheater's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Thye keep saying that this ride opened in 1970. A Wildcat ride did open in 1970, but it was replaced in 1979 by the current one. I would like to know why this happened - I didn't think the other ride was falling apart or rusting. (by the by - the current ride is exactly the same as the ond one) -
I, too, worked with a TV station for a bit - I know what you mean. However..... Last week, President Obama visited here and he made a stop at a local eating establishment. Besides the official White House camera people, the local media was there filming shots for the 6pm news. I was surprised to see what little equipment they had - such a big reduction from all the gear of the past. This is not to say that this is the ONLY way to do things, but a simple lookiing camera on a tripod has some validity. Now, if I was paying the big bucks for a TV spot, I'd want the whole kit and kaboodle - not just some amature with a Kmart tripod!

You know that if those dinos have sex at night, they're gonna have off-spring and those little ones are gonna need a playground. Only someone like me would tend to think that CF is not gonna pay for after hours security!

They finally found a buyer for that King Cobra track - as long as Cedar Fair agreed to paint it blue before shipping!

Sometimes "take home" prizes are not the "biggest" prize one could obtain from Kings Island....... Last year, upon returning to the staion after my very first trip upon Diamondback, I happened to notice a tingle. This out did the 5 foot purple poodle I won tossing softballs into a bushel basket.

Dreams are interesting. Sometimes a fleeting thought can conjure-up a dream, yet other times no one can seem to figure out where they came from. I have had dreams of SOB. Mostly they are of me walking the track. Then there was one where I figured out how to make the thing work properly without costing major dollars for repairs. One of my dreams was so real, I woke-up with great excitment - if you know what I mean! I honestly thought I had been riding the coaster. Dreams are fun, but I usually try to make mine come true. Unfortunately, in the case of SOB, I don't see this happeneing.

You don't know?!? It's the one next to the animatronic caveman rubbing 2 sticks together! ROFLMAO - and that's a lot of A

Yet, still a bit off topic......I agree about the dress code - it seems that anything goes. I hate that and I'm not old-fashioned! I'm also tired of seeing people practically engaging in sexual intercourse and their hands all over their partner's body. For cripe sake, get a room!

http://www.upillar.com/listings/70125-dinosaurs-alive-at-the-toledo-zoo-dinamation-1988-ticket-stub-souvenir Actually, they're only about 23 years old..... I was trying to "lighten the mood" by asserting that the dinos were REAL and millions of years old, not just some "new" replicas. Foghorn Leghorn...."It's a joke, son, ah say a joke"
-
You know, when you're operating such old things - (heck, those dinos are millions of years old!)- you've got to keep a sharp eye out for fires and other dangers that come with ancient equipment!

The hardware in your body is just like mine - made from a non-ferrous metal called titanium. It will not set-off the detectors, however you could be upfront and let security know - just to be nice.

I remember when the Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point first opened - the lift hill chain snapped. A new one had to be brought in before the coaster was once again operational. Have any of the lift hill chains at Kings Island ever snapped or broke? Just curious. And, does the park keep additional chain on hand for repairs?
-
I looked at CP's webcams - some of their rides were not operating today. It was raining all day and the park was quite empty.

http://www.toledoblade.com/local/2011/05/14/Cedar-Point-opens-without-newest-ride.html The new "Cedar Point" ride may not be open on opening day, as is the case with our beloved Kings Island, but the picture in this news story is not of CP - it's of KI! Talk about "generic" advertising!
-
I just saw a new CP commercial last evening - it shows coasters from other parks! Either that, or CP snuck in a few new rides without telling anyone....or they did paint jobs over the winter!
