  1. I wonder what would happen if, instead of midgets, they used Peanuts characters? Anyone ready to see Snoopy bleed? See - this whole thing is just f'n ludicrous!
  2. Terp, I'm not seeing any difference between Wind Seekers at the 4 parks. Am I missing something?
  3. If I may....what's with the horn on Diamondback? Sometimes sounds, sometimes doesn't.
  4. I know hausty1983 is just kidding, but I do believe this is far from a mine train coaster now.
  5. Unfortunately, I say, unfortunately, I get quite ill going around in a circle. Zephyr goes 8mph and I throw up. WS goes 30mph. I will enjoy watching this new ride - and believe me, I really will enjoy watching - I get a kick out of this kind of stuff!
  6. If I may say..... IF CP is getting this "swing thing" - no matter which company gets to make it for them, at 2 million dollars a copy, with such a low rider per hour capacity, they should get 2 of them. They would like quite nice, side by side along the beach area. ....Hank, out of diapers since 1964 and not looking forward to them again in the future!
  7. The comic, Gallagher, once suggested that people be allowed to shoot suction cup arrows at cars who are driven by bad operaters - then, when they have several arrows accumulated on their cars, the police can stop them and give them a ticket for being an idiot. Maybe something like this could be done to line jumpers? ...Hank, just thinking out loud, but not promoting firearms.
  8. It takes me 12 hours just to WALK around the park!
  9. Most of the time, I just LOOK at line jumpers. But, on a day like I'm having today, I would vocally confront them and demand that they be removed. Being 6" 4" and 290 pounds, they usually don't argue with me and usually they wouldn't have tried to jump the line in the first place - but I can get in one of my "moods" (or as my mother would say, a "phase") and I will not tolerate jumpers, even if they are in a group, and I won't feel bad if I mess-up their day 'cause getting angry at someone/something that is not right certainly will not mess up mine. (Furthermore, I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night and I am now an expert security guard!)
  10. I'm at the park today - first time in many years. Guess what? Absolutly nothing is happening with SOB - no testing, no track walking, no new signs. The Beast is running very well today, and Diamondback didn't open for almost an hour. I'll be around tomorrow, too - I have my walker, so if you see me, say "Hi". I'll have a full trip report on Wednesday.
  11. ^ I meant on a Six Flags fan site (if they have any)
  12. Maybe KI should advertize on a Six Flags site?
  13. ^ Maybe Timon & Pumba from The Lion King are getting a better deal from Cedar Fair?

    Stand Ups

I have only been on King Cobra & Mantis. I must say that I personally thought King Cobra was more comfotable (seats and restraints) and Mantis was smoother (but not by much).
  15. ^ Thanks for the pictures. I'll be at the park next week and will do some snooping around. Seeing the shot of the coaster made me do some thinking...... 1) That's a massive amount of wood to just throw away. 2) In this day and age isn't there anybody who could correct this machine's problems? 3) A good friend of mine got hurt on this coaster and I don't want anyone else to get injured. As we say in Toledo's Polish Village, "That's a couple of too bads"
  16. I should compose a new jingle for the park...... It used to be a bat, but now it's a Vortex It used to have a racer that was red, white and blue It used to have a sky ride and a flight commander But it's still a great park, no matter what they do Come to King's Island, but before you go Get to your bank and take out a loan 'cause if you get hungry, you're gonna need cash And don't forget the water park where you can make a splash King's Island King's Island King's Island spoken.... King's Island amusement and water park Located in Mason, Ohio Across from The Beach
  17. Ok - the food at the park is expensive....and fattening! People may not come back to the park because of the expensive food, which would be something the park could take care of. If people eat the park food, they get bigger. Then, they don't fit on the rides - another reason not to visit (and something the parks don't seem to care about). Are the parks doing themselves in? I think so - in more ways than one! We need some canary parks....cheep - cheep - cheep!

    Wisconsin Dells

I have been to The Dells twice - once in 1964 and once in 1982. In '64, it was beautiful - boat rides, train rides, unique shops, great places to eat (Paul Bunyan's comes to mind). I really enjoyed the place. In '82, everything was commercialized - property built along the boat rides, ordinary shops, touist trap stuff. Had planned on staying a few days, but left after one boat ride. Had a much better time in Milwaukee on the way home. Now, I realize there were no amusement parks or water parks there back then (they may have been a water park in '82) but except for the coasters, I have absolutley no desire to return to this place. Maybe someone can convince me otherwise?
  19. I know that wooden coasters have their tracks "walked" each day. Most steel coasters don't have a walk-way on the side of the track. How are these steel coasters inspected? Are they checked on a daily basis? What instruments are used in the inspections?
  20. I am officially casting my vote for Terpy to take over the reigns from Mr. Kinzel! (if he wants it) ....Hank, just sayin'
  21. I hate putting anything on my hands! I don't even use lotion when they get dry. Being the musician that I am, "I keep a close watch on these hands of mine, I keep my eyes wide open all the time." Having my hand stamped is usually the downer of my day at the parks. However, one of the worries I always have, in the back of my mind, is that the stamp would wear-off and I'd have to pay to get back into the park. If this new stuff is longer lasting/less resistant to rubbing off, that's all for the good. I really shouldn't complain - at least they don't stamp your forehead!
  22. Arrow made a lot of other rides, too. How many log rides can you count? Some of their coasters, like Gemini, are very good. Others just weren't good to start with and/or have not aged well. It's a shame, though, that "failuers" will be remembered more than triumphs. (and yes, I rode The Bat and yes, there isn't anything about it I didn't like - it was one heck of a machine.)
  23. I believe I saw drawings for several proposed new sections to WDW when I was at the park a few years ago. It was Walt's idea to keep expanding the grounds to include new things as the years went on, much like changes to EPCOT, keeping it fresh. So, this rumor doesn't surprise me in the least.
  24. My thoughts and prayers are with the Koch family.
