Ok I thought I missed it being taken out. Thought I was more observant than that. Thanks for the clarification.

Although someone may have broken their tailbone on it. Oh wait different park different year, another frivouls law suit. Seriously I remember some of the older water parks Ive been too where they had body slides that ran down a hill and the troughs were made from concrete. Kind of like hidden rapids at The Beach, except you were going down head first on nothing more than a body mat. You want to talk about safety? Those hurt if you got tossed off your mat.

Hmm this year I did notice longer belts, but I also dropped 20lbs. I wonder if they rerouted the belts again to give room back for ridders. Interesting. I didnt even notice the missing test seat because I rode fine in 07

Similar here as well, 5'7 and last summer I was 260. Have never had a single issue with Kings Island nor Cedar Point for that matter. Yes even after they re-routed the restraints on Millie and TTD. I thought I might but I didn't. Worried for nothing. Now this summer the ridding has been even better cause Im down to 240. But shouldnt have any worries at KI

How about, "My family went to Kings Island and rode The Beast, and all they got me was this lousy 'GrandSon of Beast' shirt" How about a shirt to go along with the GrandSon of Beast Shirt. "Im With Stupid, because he just bought a GrandSon of Beast T-shirt ->"
-
Well I could see these shirts a just merch. For example they could have onsies for infants that said, "Id rather be ridding The Beast, than in this stroller." : "Beastete" : "Future Beast Fan" and you could go on and on. But I also dont see the Nick characters getting renewed. Why would CF want to renegotiate and spend more money for a new agreement with Viacom? Thats more costly than a little paint and some new signs.

True, but Dragsters red track shows up pretty easy, then again it is just a bit taller than Mav. I think the Red will show up just fine, anyways I like how KI is still somewhat hidden behind the trees.

I like how she is suing a year after the injury happend. Isn't that a risk you take? "I might fall out of my innertube and break something?" Afterall you are slidding on your butt. Then again in our society its never my fault. Thats why everything should be wrapped in bubble wrap for our protection.

Six closed the week on a little rebound. Closing at $1.15 Nothing like hovering around disaster, ask Icarus how that worked out.

Most Insane Ride Ever!
RailRider replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well mine is of fact We can agree to disagree, but you cannot deny that many of todays woddies have design elements very similar to Travers creations. -
Well no coaster is taking its place. So your Giant Huss TopSpin will be there in 09 and the forseeable future

The Dark Knight motorcycle at the park July 5th
RailRider replied to jandyb79's topic in Kings Island
Thats awesome, I had not heard that the BatPod was at the park that day. Great pics, thanks for sharing. -
The Pavillion was a staple of downtown Myrtle Beach for many years. They closed their gates because downtown is trying to improve the crowd and image. The Pavillion was no longer drawing a family crowd but more than less desirable individuals visited the park. Yes SoB does use some of the trains from the Huricane. Family Kingdom does still reside south of downtown and the SwampFox is a great ride. Hard Rock park is located on the outskirts of town out towards Walcamaw, which use to have some shopping and theaters when more guests stayed downtown. Over the last few years the only thing that existed out there was Mideviel Times and the QVC outlet. Basically dead area. HRP comes in, tears most everything down and they expect tourists to spend a good chunk of change to enter. Not to mention the majority of the family crowd stays in North Myrtle Beach, Briarcliff or Cherrywood, also a lot go South of Downtown towards surfside. The downtown is dead and in general this park will be lucky to survive.

Fly Sally Fly! New Aerials of Mystery Construction!
RailRider replied to Captain Nemo's topic in Kings Island
Wow Im so excited now, I hadn't heard anything about Cave Beast. Thanks for breaking the news, I gotta go tell Screamscape... -
Because more than likely the midway will need to either be completely replaced or repaired once the lift is installed, with all the construction trafic going over it. So I wouldn't expect them to close Rivertown for HH because that Midway will be all new next year.

GREAT AMERICA (CA): What now?
RailRider replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Anyone else notice how "suprisingly" young Jerry Jones looked last year? -
I dont see any reasson that the majority of Vertical Construction shouldn't be done by HH, the only major part left will be the lift hill and sections that cross the midway. Those will be completed during the off seasson since it will be easier to work in midways then. I would imagine that 60% to 75% of vertical construction could be complete by the end of HH.
-
Im sure this is what you meant, but just clarifying. The design layout is complete, afterall we aren't designing on the spot. Footer here, Footer there, Here a Footer There a Footer, a Footer Everywhere. The engineering design is done. What I think you were implying is that they may not have all the footings poured yet. I would agree, there may be a few footings left to pour, but the majority should be done by HH and Vertical construction well underway. I would say the lift hill and first drop will be some of the last work since it goes over RiverTown and they will more than likely be working on the path. The Train will be very popular during HH...

Really would not be surprised it the name was a recycle. I for one would not complain if it were named Behemoth. Thats a great name for a Hyper coaster. Now if its MegaBehemoth, Behemoth Force or Behemoth Hawk we might have issues. Anything is better than Primer : The Ride
-
Thank you for the livestock breakdown. I agree that does look like livestock fencing and since chickens are not considred livestock, I guess this means we wont be riding Thunder Chicken : The Ride
-
Thank you, I knew that name would catch on.

Most Insane Ride Ever!
RailRider replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Wow seriously think you have an issue with Harry Traver. My opinion; he was an inovater, just not able to engineer the rides to last without the help of cad. Look at many of todays new generation woodies and they have very similar elements and design styles to Travers creations and with the assistance of cad are more reliable and not as streneous on the ridders. -
Ok some one settle this arguement between my brother and I
RailRider replied to Cortney's topic in Kings Island
Exactly what I was thinking, since in load position the seat faces backward, so what looks to be the back of the train is really the front and what looks to be the front is the back. That is only when the seats are in load position. Once in Fly position is all works itself out. Both coasters are set up the same way. -
Glad to see I wasn't the only one with that experience on that ride.
