  1. I heard there are two sets of wheels. One set that is smooth and has to be replaced more frequently. One set that is rough but has more longevity.
  2. I would build a giga or a 400' lift hill over the entrance and have it drop into the parking lot and have it return back over the entrance.
  3. Congrats to ki. Without seeing the golden tix I will congratulate cp for park of the year, holiday world as friendliest, and knobels or dollywood for best food.
  4. If the park has been closed for a couple years will it still have electricity?
  5. I am sure they have to have something in there for maintenance pourposes. Instead of taking the building apart.
  6. Nice report. I am surprised the wait was so long for FoF. I figured everything would have been a walk on.
  7. Waterpark expansion is the most cost effective way of bringing more families into the park to spend money.
  8. But since CF is buying b&m's currently people look the other way at issues.
  9. Teeth are not supposed to chatter on a steel coaster let alone a brand new one that cost 25 million.
  10. You have to advertise to your demographics. Kk will have sponsorship from whiskey & beer companies. Thunder run will be renamed makers mark run.
  11. Thunderstorms are usually isolated. How do you know if its going to be thunder and lighning 3 hrs ahead of time?
  12. 2014 is not a year for profits but to get people to know its a great park again and start coming back. Its basically a start up.
  13. I think you get what you pay for. Cedar Point offers 16 or 17 coasters and lots of rides. Holiday world offers 3 coasters and less rides. Kk will offer bout the same # of coasters and less rides plus rides that are sbno that will be reopening in another season or two. Of course cp will cost the most with HW being less and kk being less. If kk charged 60 admission and 20 $ to park no one would show up to a park that only has 50-60% of the park operating.
  14. Well if you have a crappy coaster you need something to make it better. A awsome ride will speak for itself.
  15. You don't need a college degree to know that bigger is better.
  16. Do not try and understand Studs posts when he is in "stir the pot" mode. You'll just get a headache.Oh, Stud, I am NOT an "Enthusiast" and this is not a "Coaster Forum" it is a Kings Island forum. We have been having a good conversation about hw/kk. There is no reason for you to jump in accusing people of stirring the pot IMO.
  17. If you get new customers in the door to see you have a great product, word of mouth will attract more people, then raise price gradually.
  18. Get people in the door and sale food, souveniers, etc.
  19. Again, your not the general public. Kk will get their fair share of business.
  20. The family with the dad wearing a wife beater and boots will choose kk cause its close and cheap. The family with money won't want to drive 2.5 hrs round trip when they could just drop by kk.
  21. With gas being twice as expensive since kk closed that is a big deal. The locals will also want to support THEIR park.
  22. ^ Like dieseltech you are not your average general public, you belong to a coaster site. If you did not like coasters you would buy passes or go once a year to IB probably. Terp: kk has been closed for a while, gas was a lot cheaper then.
