Great, smooth overall coaster. Should have never been taken out, and if parts repairs was issue should have been rebuilt. Loved the ride rode it too many times to count:

Wow did not know that, so really theme parks can last a long time. -
What about a highly themed enclosed wild mouse type ride, I know under the paramount days they had the fans of the park do surveys, of possible park attractions (rides, ) like spongebobs car wash looked great

One question to all of you out in ki central? When will Kings Island start replacing some of their aging slides in the water park? How long with good maintenance can they last? -

About ki, yes they need a new Wave pool for crowds, for sure on a busy day, also I wish they would have added a water coaster, and a 2nd lazy lazy river. -

I like the beach, I've even had wedding party parties there, but its clean, never have I saw it was dirty, never waited on food, and their safety is good. The park needs updated, new funds coming in that is why I'm suprised a cash flow for the Christmas event was cancelled. The down fall to me still is, the fact surf cincinnati closed years ago, sure, but the YMCA's have alt family deals now with more indoor water fun, Coc CO key came to Cincinnati, as did Great Wolf, sure apples to oranges, but still competition, around the tri state. Also the fact the economy got worse for the families that make 1 trip to a amusement /theme or water park they need a bang for the buck why not Kings Island, or Coney for that matter, to get a ride and slide , chill and trill package. When you split up the great wolf lodge costs its not bad either for a great themed, great staff, and in the middle of a Cincinnati/Dayton winter not bad at all. The beach to survive must evolve, in todays economic times, with some new stuff, new slides, and innovation that made it one of the best water parks... -
The pictures are great, I would guess 75/76 on the park map? Great map , had the whole resort on the map, the course, the campground, the inn, oh wow....

Rivertown attractions, add a flat or two, and a water coaster. The xbase / expansion would be great to connect it to Action Zone. Also paint The Racer! Finally a family dark ride, 5 to 7 minutes nice a/c slow moving boat ride, through caverns displaying different scenes.

Maybe Beach waterpark owned by a koch' family member buy out! That would put a serious threat to Kings Island water park. I could see if Ki expands the water park, the train ride could be re routed , and the waterpark is a seperate park. Sure hope that does not happen in this life time. The Beach needs something major!!! Plus so close to two indoor waterparks too. -

It is so incredible to see how parks change over time, wow! -
Your opinion 1 being best 10 making it in the top 10, about the top 10 Themed Parks in the USA for amusement industries. They have to have themed lands, with themed attractions, or with a overall theme. Here is my top 10 with 1 being the best and 10 being the last of the top 10: Again also being in the USA: You can put opinions next to your picks if you want: 1) DISNEY LAND: 2) KNOTTS BERRY FARM: (love the chicken, ghost town, and the overall feel of yesteryear) (plus themed rides). 3) TIE BUSH GARDENS: (BOTH TIE): 4) TIE: SEA WORLD PARKS: 5) TIE : Lego Land: 6) Holiday World/SPLASHING SAFARI: 7)Sesamee Place 8) Dolly Wood: 9) Hershey Park 10) Disney World: ***SIDE NOTE I did not pick Kings Island as it does have different names for the different sides of the park but is slowly reverting back to being a straight amusement park:

what i would give for a dark ride boat ride maybe they could retheme and enclose the congo falls!!! and add a great dark ride: Snoopys Scary Adventures: Or Its Halloween Charlie Brown! No guns just great ride, slow and long: -
I wish they would tear it down, and build other stuff back in there, get it out of misery, or kids teens and adults asking what is that? Sure I would love to ride it over and over, again but the price tag to rebuild safely seems hi. Hope I get a piece of the timber, from the only looping, fastest, tallest wooden mommoth known to man. The question is will ever have as fast wooden coaster?, as tall?, or even a loop or two? Time will tell, but Son of Beast was something. I still say parts of it will go to the NATIONAL ROLLER COASTER MUSEUM, for display, for being tall, fast, and looped wooden coaster.

Sure hope at least 2 coasters the pingeons blizzard river (which should be themed to some degree), and one heck of a flat selection, and a great ferris wheel, (plus a great kids land). maybe they will pay for licensing for the kids land(or what would their mascots be?). Bluegrass Boardwalk is sticking with me now. What new attractions too.... Wow maybe a 2 day pass to holidayworld/Bluegrass boardwalk the ky thrills and chills park: We shall see. Good luck Kochs so happy for you!

What do you miss the most about Kings Island this off season?
westcoaster replied to 16gwoods's topic in KI Polls
Everything the rides on the dry and wet side, the games, the ambience, but the food, its hard to say this the food is so less memorable than other parks, even in the Cedar Fair family: -
Not quite who I thought could do a lot of good with the park, was hoping for a Dolly Parton to breathe life into the park. But I'm a huge fan of Tennessee attractions, and this great park in Maggie Valley, it was great to see some shoot outs, and old saloons and some rides. Some of the biggest attraction could be the ride up on the rail system or the straight down chair lift. But I wish this 88 year old the best, and for taking it on her self, if I could invest Ghost town has its charm? Whats your thoughts? Name change I agree, more rides yes. Better way to the top would be nice, but maybe some good old fashion customer service, great food, and let the crowds come back: Here is what scream scape had to say: A great article can be found at the SmokyMountainNews about how Alaska Presley, age 88, hopes to restore and reopen a profitable Ghost Town in the Sky as her legacy to Maggie Valley. She was the lone bidder at the auction, offering $2.5 million for the park and property, though this itself is more for show than anything. It seems she purchased the entire $10.5 million debt note from BB&T who was more interested in cutting their loss, for just $1.5 million. So as the primary debt holder, the $2.5 million bid will simply come right back to her. Her top priority is to try and get the chair lift and incline railway working again, as they are the primary method of transporting guests to the park’s mountain-top location, and were never reopened under the previous group’s efforts. All said the done, there is an estimated $11 million in repairs and restoration that are likely needed to be done, but she plans on not taking out more loans in the immediate future in order to keep the park debt free, and will pay off the projects as she goes. As she admits the old “Western” theme is one that is not quite as popular as it once was, there is a need to modernize and change things up at the park, an even mentioned the idea of adding a zipline. Given the remote location, I do have to wonder what Ghost Town can offer to extend their season and put the property to use even in the cooler months of the year.

It will be great for them, and really with the Stadium in their front doors, I might also see them adding a knotts type free space out front with shop's , food vendors, and more. Kind of like Knotts, but I do know under Paramount they were planning a village type deal outfront. Now that Cedar Fair is keeping their park outside San Fran it could be their next big investments, to make it a great attraction, for guests, and a great neighbor to the 49ers. Time will tell, and hopefully it will work out.

We shall see soon what replaces the ride at what was Tomb Raider, or the Crypt.
