  1. rode 15 or more times, loved it better with the loop, its a great ride. I Would ride it today!
  2. Even when SOB is dismantled torn down, some of it will go to the National Roller Coaster Museum, as parts of the Screechin Eagle from Lesourdsville/Americana was
  3. Everything the rides on the dry and wet side, the games, the ambience, but the food, its hard to say this the food is so less memorable than other parks, even in the Cedar Fair family:
  4. Not quite who I thought could do a lot of good with the park, was hoping for a Dolly Parton to breathe life into the park. But I'm a huge fan of Tennessee attractions, and this great park in Maggie Valley, it was great to see some shoot outs, and old saloons and some rides. Some of the biggest attraction could be the ride up on the rail system or the straight down chair lift. But I wish this 88 year old the best, and for taking it on her self, if I could invest Ghost town has its charm? Whats your thoughts? Name change I agree, more rides yes. Better way to the top would be nice, but maybe some good old fashion customer service, great food, and let the crowds come back: Here is what scream scape had to say: A great article can be found at the SmokyMountainNews about how Alaska Presley, age 88, hopes to restore and reopen a profitable Ghost Town in the Sky as her legacy to Maggie Valley. She was the lone bidder at the auction, offering $2.5 million for the park and property, though this itself is more for show than anything. It seems she purchased the entire $10.5 million debt note from BB&T who was more interested in cutting their loss, for just $1.5 million. So as the primary debt holder, the $2.5 million bid will simply come right back to her. Her top priority is to try and get the chair lift and incline railway working again, as they are the primary method of transporting guests to the park’s mountain-top location, and were never reopened under the previous group’s efforts. All said the done, there is an estimated $11 million in repairs and restoration that are likely needed to be done, but she plans on not taking out more loans in the immediate future in order to keep the park debt free, and will pay off the projects as she goes. As she admits the old “Western” theme is one that is not quite as popular as it once was, there is a need to modernize and change things up at the park, an even mentioned the idea of adding a zipline. Given the remote location, I do have to wonder what Ghost Town can offer to extend their season and put the property to use even in the cooler months of the year.
  5. It will be great for them, and really with the Stadium in their front doors, I might also see them adding a knotts type free space out front with shop's , food vendors, and more. Kind of like Knotts, but I do know under Paramount they were planning a village type deal outfront. Now that Cedar Fair is keeping their park outside San Fran it could be their next big investments, to make it a great attraction, for guests, and a great neighbor to the 49ers. Time will tell, and hopefully it will work out.
  6. We shall see soon what replaces the ride at what was Tomb Raider, or the Crypt.
  7. Son of Beast blow out special in the shop's around the park, from toothpicks to commerative ornaments, and much more. Own your piece of memories from the tallest, fastest, only looping Wooden Coaster. No all jokes aside, I wish the president of Cedar Fair the boss, would rebuild rehab the son of the greatest wooden coaster. But if not I've got to own part of what was a speical ride. We shall see, time is gotta to be on the announcement side soon!
  8. the local Cincinnati Paper did a great article for Invertigo. But really just for a Halloween Haunt on the old crypt that is horrible. We shall see as the time passes. Also yes on a previous post The Beast let his son on the park worst error of judgement for the park, of course it could have been built great if it had been done right with the right maker. I'm saying pieces will be showing up on line for buyers, own a piece of the only looping fastest tallest wooden coaster to ever be unleashed up till 2012.
  9. When I first rode tomb raider it was something, memories will always be there. But I hope for the new president of Cedar Fair they have a good replacement, that will work with River Town theme. They should make it spectacular, they have a great building. Really also the fact is for Kings Island one of their top parks, they should have torn it out in off season, and reopened it for 2012 whatever it would be. Not to mention, a temp location for haunt, that is just crazy. Hope for 2013, with 2 major attractions gone. Would it not be nice not a coaster but maybe something like Dolly has done in the past, 6 new family rides of all kinds, to keep the park up maybe 2 or 3 in the river town area, and spread them around?
  10. I'm hoping for 2013 for a new major attraction, that would be great,
  11. what ride could go there in the future, good bye Tomb Raider/ CRypt:
  12. It would cost a bunch but a coaster would help Coney so much, I do believe the Twister was great too. The Twister was more expensive than any attraction from previous coney Prior to Kings Island wow. Flooding is too always a huge issue at Coney Island that is for sure!
  13. First the Koch's have great success with coasters, and they will hopefully keep the rides. I see them keeping one theme through the park, a blue grass boardwalk thrills and chills rides, they could build in honor of their first park a santa river north pole ride out of the penguins blizzard ride stuff like that. Hopefully with how ky kingdom was friendly and clean the Koch's will keep that up as they always do at Holiday world. Maybe too they could get a license of some sort for the kids land to add hanna barbera or some type of over the top kids land! It would be incredible. The future may also hold for day visitors a 2 or 3 day pass between holiday world and bluegrass boardwalk, and for season pass 2 water parks and 2 dry parks. Great for a family ran company:
  14. A new Dark Ride not to scary, for the whole family, Even something like six flags monster plantation. Also a show on the train, bank robbers and the whole 9 yards. Huge Ferris wheel. Finally a mega floorless coaster.
  15. If coney would have kept americana/ lesourdsville lake Cincy might have 3 major parks still... I see land across from coney for sale? Expansion? No it looks wooded and hilly, I just wish Coney could add a Coaster/ and log flume
  16. I never noticed the name, oh my!
  17. Really? Golden lamb changed that much, that is a Great Miami Valley/Ohio Valley institution and always so yummy on the tummy.
  18. Zantigo still open I think Minneapollis area!
  19. Just one thing in the past not to mention owners it seems the park had some themed lands, a great dark boat ride, and even better landscaping, just saying:
  20. The Kings Island/ Cedar Fair vs disney was interesting 1 time visitor compared to decade possible visitor, well put.
  21. Oh yeh but I can go with Bluegrass Boardwalk:
  22. I like the name of Kentucky Boardwalk, maybe they could keep some rides around the waterpark? It should get interesting to say the least.
  23. I didn't see it they need a hannah and barbera Enchanted Voyage!, and smurfs enchanted voyage:
  24. Its a great site I wish them the very best, and to many years of good business .
  25. Great Pictures added, thanks for the memories relived through pictures. Looking at the old Kings Island kids rides? Do you think Kings Island would ever add another kids land ? Do we need it? Even a small one on the other side of the park. We sure do need some type of family tiques or speedway type cars.
