  1. It's been no secret that Endless Summer on Ice will make its amazing return to Kings Island for the 2008 season, however the statement above is obviously incorrect. Endless Summer will again be in the Kings Island Theatre, while the International Showplace will feature a new and exciting show for 2008.
  2. Let's just say that's not a finalized map.
  3. The map that you're looking at isn't 100% accurate.
  4. I was sent the press release by Bill Mefford, but the header for it was for Warren County, not Cedar Fair.
  5. No, that was based off of a press release that KI sent me.
  6. Kings Island Resort & Conference Center Employee David Smith has won the 2007 Pinnacle Award for Outstanding Service for his help in taking care of a family in a medical emergency situation. Smith is a resident of the Eastgate area. He has worked for the resort for about a year and also servers as a teacher in the Clermont County School District.
  7. That's exactly what I'm saying, To enthusiasts, the novelty wears off... especially if you go to the park every week.
  8. Let's face it... if they add a new ride, it's cool for a few weeks, then it's just another ride... with a really long line. If they do special things, it's new no matter what.
  9. I ASSURE you that there will not be "nothing new". Mark my words.
  10. False. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw it come back sometime in the next few years... just not this year. It was a four year agreement, but they have the option to extend. Nick isn't being removed. Not now, not soon. 1) Correct 2) You've been missing out BIG TIME in the past few years. I'm no animal expert, but I really doubt you'll see the extensive return of animals to KI ever again. It's kind of like how you can "work hard or work smart." I honestly have no idea how much money they're putting into the park this year, but I can assure you that the 2008 season will be as exciting or more exciting than any season in which they add a ride. That blurb is what we call an understatement. Yeah, the season's extended through the first weekend in November. No Bare Bones is scheduled this year to my knowledge, however that does NOT reflect a failure. In fact, people reacted rather well to Bare Bones, all things considered. Seriously... 2008 is going to be a GREAT season! Old ideas will be become new again, we'll have that "new ride name smell" in the air, and maybe even a peak into the future.
  11. I think Feb 1st was the date they agreed upon for its removal. This is probably just the visible side of the work...
  12. I talked to Tom Rebbie several years back and he said they really wanted to do a 100 year anniversary carousel but couldn't get anyone to buy the concept... so I guess they technically are in the business..
  13. Maybe not in one fowl swoop, but I can certainly see them expanding one ride at a time for years so long as they can keep their picnic business.

It's probably all or none. I'd venture to guess they're not.
  15. Seriously... look at the technology behind Star Wars the Enterprise could totally... ah, nevermind. I'm not getting into this debate.

For all we know, Meijer could have been paying KI to sell the passes there. "Hey kids, let's stop by Meijer and buy our season passes.... and while we're there, we'll pick up a few hundred dollars in groceries."
  17. My sister went to Star Trek: The Experience in Vegas last year and said it was amazing. The highlight of all of it is the fully themed bar where aliens serve you.
  18. Oh of course its turned into a flame war, brownstggrr always has to correct people or put in his two cents, and its usually rude too. brown's been a member of these forums for years and has never posed a problem to the mods here. You, on the other hand, need to read the Terms of Service before posting again. Directly attacking or insulting other board members is not allowed. This is your warning.
  19. Moreso now than ever, though. When I was in high school, they used to give you detention for having a cell phone, but now I'm hearing that the same school I went to has a text alert system. I guess they're good now...
  20. Ha... very cool! The trick to life is to get a Blackberry so you can just browse this site in the middle of class if you want to.
  21. Yeah, stuff like that is finalized and released closer to the park's opening.
  22. H-B was great for 35 years. Cedar Fairs or whoever just wanted to come in and change what KI was. It was actually Paramount, not Cedar Fair who dropped HB, and they didn't do it to "change what KI was" they did it because times change and they were adapting to the market. Nickelodeons popularity among the target audience of park goers surpassed HB. Technically it was CBS who dropped HB.
  23. Don't even worry about that.
  24. I'm really excited about the level of support this thing has. No other amusement park site has done anything like it that I know about. Feel free to join in if you haven't yet. I'm looking forward to keeping KIC the most informed and up-to-date site out there!

Do you know that? I'm pretty sure that if a camp ground was anything near being unprofitable, Paramount would have divested that VERY valuable property right next to the park years ago.
