Is it just me, or has this thing really not sunk into anyone else's head quite yet? I'll still be shocked when I see them either gone or SBNO next Saturday.
-
Plus, is it so wrong to take a stand for a lost cause? Maybe if they know we're serious, we can prevent tragedies like this from happening in the future.
-
I totally disagree. I was totally blown away by how well it was done.
-
Yeah, Sparky joined a 12 step support group and is doing much better!

Todd, I completely agree with you and I think that's the best way anyone could put it. I agree with Dan. That was probably the best post on this thread yet. I called Todd to tell him because I didn't want him to hear about it on here, like the rest of us did. He's probably more connected with the ride than anyone else I know. I differ with him slightly. I do welcome IJST with open arms. My excitement about the ride has been tained by the high price that we must pay for it. My real fear is that due to this price, enthusiasts may never feel like the ride lives up to the hype, although it will likely be an amazing experience. The more I talk to people, the more I am finding out (apparently) that certain people with authority in the park did fight for us... they did everything they can, but in the end, it simply wasn't enough. I do thank anyone who had our little demographic in mind while you defended our cherished ride. I am never one to stand in the way of progress, but I just think that progress could have been acheived without this particular action. You all say that it was a Paramount Park's decision, not PKI, well I tell you this, my friends: just because someone has authority doesn't mean they always make the right decisions. I think that the park realizes that. I mean, did you notice that they didn't even tell us themselves, they deligated it to Shaggy. Kind of a "don't kill the messenger" deal. I don't blame them, though. I wouldn't want to be the one to have to tell you guys that.

I put slightly less because there were a few days that I went simply because I had the urge to snap.

He meant 1993, cowboy. :cowboy:

The park is, and has always been, in the shape of a wheel. I think the main reason why they're removing rides in favor of others is so that they don't break that form. The only exception to this is the back end of Action Zone, which is probably the most crowded area of the park, so the theory is sound.
-
True, usually they remove everything but the base. I don't know why it was done differently this year. Then again, Maurine said, "The park is not planning to remove any other rides for the new ride". So they could remove anything else they wanted in all reality. I'd hate to see the Scrambler go too.
-
Eh... sure, what the heck, why not?
-
In all of the time that I spend up at the park last season taking CDBB construction pics, I never saw anything near the tower. Then again, I was probably a mile away from it. Likely they'll be painting it or something this offseason.
-
Paramount's Kings Island is owned and operated by Paramount Parks, a division of Paramount Pictures, which is owned by Viacom. The last day of operation this season is November 7th.
-
Haha...Cool? Yes; Possible? No I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that ride in the offseason, for safety reasons. lol... I'm not sure what you mean by safety reasons, but I would stay clear of riding an elevator upto a 275ft exposed platform when it's 20 degrees ground level... just sounds like a bad time.
-
He is correct. Just Paramount Parks, not Vegas, baby! Look on the back of your pass and its stated there.
-
That's been up for months, but thanks for contributing. :cowboy:

Topics don't get out of hand on PKIC, members get out of hand. If the appendix goes bad, do you shot the patient or remove the appendix? If YOUKNOWWHATIMEAN. Take that as a warning, like Dirty Steve said, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so if you disagree, then do so, but no one is dumb or a complainer because they disagree with a decision. Oh, and that "brilliant post" about how Paramount owns the park, so they can stick it to the guests. Not true. Yeah, the physically own the park, but when it comes down to it, they have to do things in the best interest of the guests. Personally, I say get the t-shirt (I'm not making any money off of it) and wear it Sunday. It will be a protest and a little bit of fun all rolled into one. One of you guys said, if you don't like it, don't buy a pass for next year. That's very true. You just have to wonder if PKI has enough to offer in exchange for your $80 in 2005, and I can tell you now, it does.
-
Ok, now you're starting to **** me off. Is that fact that the Eagles were one of this community's favorite rides too lofty of a concept for you to understand? Now, keep it clean people.
-
Carowinds Zone Go to the "2005" thread in their forums... it's like they don't even want them.
-
Why don't you just RUB IN IT!! Have you rubbed salt in the Eagles' wound either?? Just kidding. We're deciding what exactly to do with that material, so for now, we'll pretend it's still there. Ryan

Ok, I've got a plan. (Marketing, listen up. That means YOU, Steve and Taney) This is what we're going to do: let's SAY that we're sending the scooters, but in fact, we'll send the Troika instead. No one cares about it anyway. By the time they get it there, it will be too late and they'll be stuck with it! What do you say?
-
Very true, Diana, but if you recall, last year they said: "Labor day would be the last operational day of Water Works" which it was. Shaggy clearly said that it would be relocated to another Paramount park. Than again, I do recall Shaggy telling us that he didn't see a coaster in our future for 2005. Paramount Parks corperate offices are located at or near Carowinds if you guys want to send your *****ings there.

Probably the most ridiculous thing that I've ever heard out of PKI. Shame shame shame....
-
Part of the track is in the field to the right of SOB's loop, the other part is in a clearing behind The Racer. They are making attempts to sell it. You never know what kind of stuff you can do with old junk.
-
I want to write one in: I'd say the best part is the stellar themeing on Coney Maul!
-
The easiest way to spot the track is to ride SOB, and right before you enter the loop, look to the clearing on your right, they're way back near the treeline.
