  1. That's actually a viable happening. My sister and I went to Kennywood and rode the Exterminator, which is a spinning wild mouse. Since there was two of us in the car and not 4, it messed up the balance and when it was supposed to spin a couple of times, we ended up spinning violently until the ride ops physically stopped us upon entering the station.

Hey, youre not the only ones they forgot! If it wasnt for us animation techs, you guys wouldnt have such a good park visit! Yeah, you've got to love tech services with their abilities to run so quickly between Tomb Raider and Delirium last year.
  3. That's a question that we've been toying with for about a month now. Logically, having one mega site would bring the whole community together and be a one-stop place for all of your PKI needs, then again, both forums operate differently, so if they do merge, we'll have to find some common ground.
  4. Saying that PKI is out of the coaster race doesn't mean that they can't compete. It just means that they're not going to go up against CP or Six Flags to try to build the tallest, longest, whatever.. They're concentrating on improving the park, not necessarily holding records.
  5. 90%? If you've got a PKIC shirt, you stay for free!!! Nah, it'll be expensive... for all of us.
  6. Although I do see a lot of you being disappointed with a HBL or Nick Central expansion in 2006, I think the park could accomidate for that with a really nice sit-down restaraunt. So long as the prices aren't like stupid-high, it would be an excellent idea. It would be nice to be able to have a place to sit down, be served, and not feel rushed like you do at most fast food places.
  7. As it turns out, we can not merge the accounts entirely. Your posts from PKIC will dominate your PKIU post count. We can manually change your post count if it comes down to it, but your PKIC member rank will remain the same.

That's the address of the Rollercoaster Corperation of Texas, which may have bought TOGO.
  9. ^ Which is why the needs of the employees will be accommodated if they merge.
  10. One of the reasons why they axed Winterfest is because the expanded the season in order to have Fearfest. They may require a few extra weeks to set up for Winterfest if they have it.
  11. We really have no final word on when/if the forums will be combined. If they are, everything will be done automatically.
  12. There is a program that does this. In order for it to work, your usernames on both pages must be identical. If they're different, we can change them for you. Your total posts will be a summation of the two sites, but we're not sure what will happen with the user number.
  13. The food service has its ups and downs. It seems like the people are always friendly, but need to do a little work on multitasking so lines can be cut through more quickly. I recall waiting in line for almost 20 mins behind 4 people at the Dip n Dots place in Coney on the last day the park was open last season. It seemed like the person working the stand almost didn't know how to operate the register. Is this anyone's fault? Not really. Some people just need to have a little more training before being unleashed into the public. Then again, this is totally made up for by the rides department in which almost everybody is quick, efficent, and very personable.
  14. You may have already noticed that PKIU's forums are down, the entire page will go down within days. The reason behind this is that we are transfering it over to our Nexigen server so it will run more quickly, efficently, and conveniently. The DNS takes a few days to transfer, so it may take a little while for the page to be back up and running 100%, but expect to see it back at full throttle within the week. Regards, Ryan
  15. I totally agree with you, but that brings up the question, would have seperate budgets really fix anything? I think what you're trying to imply is that there should be the regular budget for the ride maintanance, and then a totally seperate budget for themeing, but where would the money come from? The park could do just as good by simply alloting more money to the budget of each ride. Would they do this? Probably not. Anyway, back to IJST. I hope (are pray) they they have learned their lesson and will have intelligently integrated themeing. As in, if a bulb burns out, it is physically possible to replace it. I've heard from several sources that this one will be done right, but we can only hope. Tom, great job on the fog effects on Tomb Raider.
  16. ^ You're entirely correct, but at the same time, the perfect diversity that Action Zone has to offer may also account for the terrible foot traffic that it suffers from.
  17. I'm not sure. The floats and stuff toured, but the actors didn't. Magic of the Movies was seen at several parks as well.
  18. Why would it matter whose forums are whose? The same people basically run both of them. That's not going to change.
  19. I intend to make a PKI end of season tribute video and would like as many contributions as possible from the forum members. Round up all that crazy footage that you took this season, and send it on over! AVI format is big and ugly, but it's preferred. This will be kind of a tribute to all of the employees that made 2004 such a wonderful season. Thanks for supporting the site! Ryan
  20. I must admit, I still think back about that and force a smile.
  21. I'm not really big on making predictions, so I'm not, but I do love the concept of an Addams Family attraction. PKI needs a good dark ride, and what would be more perfect than the Addams Family? There are endless possibilities with it.
  22. They tried hard to get Paul Hogan for CDBB's media day, but from what I understand, he declined. Instead, they got his stunt man, Ron Champion. They allowed the GP to go to media day last year, but I don't know if they'll be so kind this year. They needed enough people to fill up the water park, but that should be a problem with a coaster. We'll just have to wait and see.
  23. The other thread has turned into a "yes vs no" thread, so let's take a vote to it.
  24. IF we merge the forums, you'll have to send a request to the admin on either site to change your name to equal the other name. Just decide which one you like best. Tom, I agree with you about the posting habits. If people from PKIC start *****ing about PKIU people posting their way, then we'll have to start coming down on the PKIU people, which will b**** because we were moderating the PKIC way.... all in all, two different forums seems more comfortable.
  25. I agree. We're kind of letting you guys more or less do your own thing now, and it seems that people are starting to come around. I'd like to keep both forums for that. Just to let you know, if your name is identical on both boards, we do have the ability to merge your account, so if you have 500 on PKIC and 500 on PKIU, your account would be at 1000 posts. Cool, huh?
