Although I normally would choose music over video, I kind of like how it is. Simply because if they pumped 5,000 watts of music through a queue line, you wouldn't be able to hear anyone. With the QTV, you can choose wheather to pay attention or not.

Also, it is nearly impossible for the train to roll backwards down the lift hill. That clanking noise you hear is the anti-rollback mechanism (invented by John A. Miller). If the chain were to break, or the car miscatch, the train would just stay still.

I wouldn't expect to see Tuned In! back next year, but every show they have in the International Showplace is a similar format.

Do you think H-B Land's years at PKI are limited?
BoddaH1994 replied to italianchef's topic in Kings Island
Personally, I think HBL will become NC in the future. Not anytime soon, but sometime. There really is no merit in naming rides and attractions off of characters that the kids don't recognize. The unfortunate side is, Nickelodeon seems to come out with newer, more cutting edge characters every 5 or so years rather than concentrating on a particular franchise, so constant retheming could be necessary. On the other hand, the Six Flags parks seem to just go ahead and run characters into the ground. Granted, I don't have kids, but I can imagine that they'd be able to recognize Sponge Bob, or Tommy from the Rugrats long before he or she would recognize Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck. Granted, they've tried to resurrect the franchise with new releases and new movies, but all in all, the age of the Looney Tunes is dead and gone. -
I was going to finally go ride their big B&M standup thing Friday, but I have come to find out that the KY state fair is that day. The last thing I want to do is have to battle the 4H club for a seat on a coaster.

This morning, I saw two guys from tech services enter the Tiques area with what looked like a blueprint. Could have been anything.

They've added thrilling attractions almost every year. Italian Job, Delirium, SOB, and loosely speaking, Taz and Coolangatta are all thrilling rides. In response to you, PKIBeast, I agree that enthusiasts are the main return visitors, but think of it this way: when you go to the park, do you eat two times, play several games, and buy a souvineer? Now a family of four would typically do all of that and may, in a one or two day visit, outspend an enthusiast for the whole season. Then again, I went up there today with a bunch of people from my work that are are family men (who had their families with them) and they were thrilled to hear that a new coaster was in our horizon. One thing that I will suggest is more attractions for pregnant women and people wil disabilities.

The base of the sign now stands erect. Click here to see a photo Also you can look at some photos of the parts laying on the ground taken by Steve B. here.

Even at that, it's still 96, 99, 00, 01, 05.... just because we had a 3 year gap now doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen in the future.
-
Flight of Fear was actually 1996, but you make a good point. They don't necessarily have a wait between coasters, although you'll notice that there are gaps between major coasters.

Dude, give them a break.... you haven't even seen it yet... hell, it hasn't been built yet. Come 2005, if you ride it and then are still unimpressed, then you can *****. For now, just give the thing a chance, WE FINALLY GOT THE COASTER THAT YOU GUYS WANTED.

May he be remembered by his out and backs as he rests in peace.

I think the Tiques will be back simply because they are so popular. The expense of running them is somewhat looked over when it comes to a ride that is so popular.

Since this is already starting to happen, I figured I'd start a thread about 06. 2005- I also see the Nick parade coming back, but being bigger, longer, more exciting, and maybe even messier. My guess is that it will be a limited-time attraction like this year. 2005- I believe that the Paramount Theatre will have a great show next year. It seems like they got all of that new technology and didn't know what to do with it. I see audience participation, wonderful technology, and hopefully special effects. 2005- I think we'll see a return of Winterfest next year...I really do. I think it will be an elaborate celebreation, but it will get terrible reviews on here because the lines for rides will be long, and they will have a very tiny, tiny handful or rides open. 2005- I think that next year the Timberwolf will have a respectable amount of shows sleighted now that the House of Blues has seen that the venue can in fact attract people. 2006- My predictions- If everything about the Tiques going away for a while is true, I think that most of you are right in saying that they will come back as a kid-oriented themed attraction in 06. Don't fret, because I have a feeling that we have a big flat coming in 06. Some sort of record breaker. Probably not Huss, maybe Zamperela. It has been the trend of PKI to attract both kids and adults in the same year. (Hence the SDATHC/Delirium connection). Make your predictions here... and for the love of God, it's not going to be a freakin' B&M in 06!

I think it'll bump down the staircase. They made a pretty big deal about it in the video, so it's not like it's a minor thing that they can neglect.

I think you guys have a couple of misconceptions. Nick Central next year? Maybe... it sounds logical enough, but unless other parks are looking into closing in on PKI's Golden Ticket Award, it's not necessary. Kiddy areas in general are a whole other world than the main park. The reason behind that is, a kid goes to a park and hangs around HBL and NC for a couple of years and then "graduates" to the rest of the park. Those who no longer go to the kiddy areas don't go back, thus they stay in the main park for the rest of their "career," shall we say, at the park. Thus, the main park always needs to be expanded. What I'm trying to spit out is, kids won't decide not to go to the park because it has the same rides that it has has for the past 10 years, it's all new to them. Not to mention that they must work their way up on most of the rides in HBL anyway, and by the time they have accomplished the bigger rides in HBL, they're almost big enough for the main park anyway. We are also handed the illusion that it's been a long time since HBL/NC has been expanded. Wrong. It was expanded last year with SDATHC. That's just forgotten since it was added the same year as Delirium. If we get a kiddy area expansion next year, I wouldn't be entirely too surprised, but I really wouldn't either count on it or expect it in the least. Ryan While I have your attention: all you people who are complaining that we're not getting a B&M hyper-gigga-stratta-inverted-floorless-4d coaster next year are really going to eat your words when you see how amazing the Italian Job is going to turn out.
-
I have watched the parade with those crazy marketing people several times this year. I haven't gotten an official word, but the implication has been that it will come back and be longer next year.
-
I totally agree. The only thing that worries me is that the parking garage part looks kind of cheesy, then again, it is just a simulation.
-
Just imaging the amazing themeing you could have as you drive your Model T through a early 1900s town.
-
It has a train which rolls on a track.. it's a coaster. Not your conventional hyper or giga, but a coaster nonetheless. Also, did you guys notice that on a crate in the concept art, the words "Siebert Shipping" is written on it? It's on the concept are for both PKI and PCW... lol.. shows you who had the real pull in this project.

This is just a friendly reminder that the Nickelodeon Celebreation Parade will be coming to and end this Sunday, August 15th. If you haven't gotten to see the parade yet, then I would highly recommend making an effort to catch it before it goes away for the season!

What do you think?

I don't know where you guys are getting this confirmation from. I asked Taney a few questions before I left. Yes, it is Premeir (hence the ticket thing). She could not confirm nor deny the location of the ride. I mean, we basically know where it's going, but saying that the Tiques will be shut down in the immediate future has a lot of speculation-base to it. Why wouldn't they announce it if it was going to happen in 4 days?
-
Let's not forget, the park has never officially stated where IJ is going to be, so assuming that they're shutting down the Tiques Sunday is jumping the gun.

The reason why they changed the name was because they sold the rights to the Sci Fi channel. It has nothing to do with wheather or not the program is playing or not. Even if it does end up under the Viacom umbrella, I wouldn't expect to see it back. Side note: The movie you watch in the hanger was slightly different when it was Outer Limits and it is now: First of all, the sequence that starts off with the aliens saying, "Imagine a world where the improfections of human existance are a thing of the past..." That part was different. It started with the Outer Limits theme, "Do not adjust your television set... we control the vertical and the horizontal... we can take a single image and multiply it a thousand time, or magnify one to crystal clarity and beyond." Anyway, when they did the whole "verticle" and "horizontal" speal, the ship used to project either a vertical or horizontal line onto the wall facing the entrance to the ship. That was extremely cool. Also, another minor thing that was different was the part where they play the joke on staff sergent. When he pulled the little TV away, as opposed to the screen just being static, it had the Outer Limits logo. Just thought I'd share. Ryan
