OFFICIAL! Son of Beast Will NOT Operate in 2010
^How can you throw it away? Return on investment. SoB's current price tag is somewhere around $30 million. Another $10 million would out it in the catagory of one of the World's most expensive coasters. I can't see how SoB is worth it. Could GG fix it? Putting aside if they would take the SoB project on-I really don't know. My question is, what could they do that has not been already done?

OFFICIAL! Son of Beast Will NOT Operate in 2010
^^^I suppose I should explain myself better. Yes, Intamin has had problems with both TTD and KK, and those problems have been worked out, years ago as can be seen with TTD's ridership numbers. SoB's problems have been ongoing since 2000, and other firms have come in and tried their best without positive results. For another firm, like GG, to come in and make additional changes, and, take on the responsibility of SoB's safety is more than some firms wish to take on. If, heaven forbid, SoB had another accident after another "fix" was done; what do you think would happen in the media? They would go nuts. In every article would be the name of the engineering firm that recently "fixed" SoB. That engineering name would then be tainted not only for future projects, but for past ones as well. As enthusiasts, we understand the situation; but for the general public, they would overreact due to the media propoganda that is associated with situations like this.

^^ But firms like GG would have to want to work on SoB. Given SoB's history, that is going to be difficult. GG and others have reputations, another failed SoB modification would only ruin it. And convincing them to do it is only one hurdle. The other is cost. CF could throw, say, $10,000,000 at an engineering firm to fix SoB. Is SoB worth that price tag?

^ And if you do have a difficult time finding one this summer, I would be banging on the customer service window. I have no problem with a price increase, as long as they can justify it.

I was waiting for a "FLASH: aHAAAA" lyric with that background music.

^ So do you carry the bag with you, or get a locker? BTW, your items make complete sense. Also, I am glad to hear you wear short shorts. Big boy cargos would not do you justice.

Heinz Out, Red Gold In At Cedar Fair Parks
I would say that you hit the nail on the head. Even though Skyline is owned and located in KI, the park still has to follow franchise rules/ contracts. Chick-fil-a at CP is closed on Sundays per the franchise specs and TGI Fridays in HB at CP has to follow all the NUMEROUS franchise rules.

SoB's main issue is the track gauging causing the shuffling back and forth. If the park would replace the supports like TG, and the track gauging, it literally would be a whole new ride. On a side note, I miss this thread....

But isn't that what the metal detectors and security employees outside the Front Gate are for? I don't necessarily mean illegal items, just unnecessary items (i.e. I-pods, laptops, truckload of clothing etc.)

Kings Island's 5@5 Q&A Thread
IMO, I really can't understand why people, mainly teenagers, have to bring in a backpack inside the park to begin with. Raising the cost of a locker not only can limit a person's spending in the park for items won/ purchased, it can also limit the possibility of people bringing in unnecessary items into the park.

"Mason's Menace Faces Justice."
I really don't think the CF brass cares. SoB to them is like obtaining a brother-in-law through marriage for us. It is what it is....

That is pretty funny.

Flaming and speaking the truth are two different things. Combining the comments and the website, it is clear he is a troll.

Kings Island - Photos of Things Now Gone
I have a sneaky hunch that given his rideaccidents.com banner, we are not the first to believe this individual to be a troll. Then he just adds gas to fire with his"family friend" comment, but doesn't have his facts straight to the point where they have to be edited. Given that, and many other examples that can be seen through his profile, I am happy to have an inaccurate coaster comment.

GREAT AMERICA (CA): What now?
What is there to be confused about, and, where did you get the idea that there was some sort of surprise? The NFL tried it once in the bay area, it was not a boasting success, and haven't been back there since. Now other venues like Superdome in New Orleans, both the old & new stadiums in Tampa, and both the old & "new' stadiums in Miami have had multiple Super Bowls. Here is an intresting article on SB XIX: http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1946&dat=19850112&id=FEUwAAAAIBAJ&sjid=pKUFAAAAIBAJ&pg=5531,447317

GREAT AMERICA (CA): What now?
Exactly. The NFL is more apt to go back to a previous venue, unless things do not go as planned, or, it is too difficult (i.e. Minnesota, Jacksonville etc.)

Another trim on I305?
There are different degrees of greying out. I305 sounds like it has it's own catagory. I have, on a few of numerous occaisions, slightly greyed out on MF. My wife has come to the conclusion that if I talk less in line, there will be more o2 in my blood, and I have a less chance of greying out. I am anxious to try I305 this summer to see how it effects me.

GREAT AMERICA (CA): What now?
Dueling economic portraits of 49ers stadium deal http://www.mercuryne...?nclick_check=1 Depending on the accuracy of this quote, it will hit home for many of you: I really question this: The NFL has strict rules on the host stadium & city when it comes down to awarding Super Bowl sites. Capacity, hotel availability & weather all play large factors in that determination. The new stadium does seem just large enough, I am going to *assume* there are enough hotel rooms located within (I believe) 50 miles of the event site, but the weather could be the tipping point. Santa Clara, CA has an average hi/ low temperature in February of 62/ 45 (and don't forget the SB is in early February), and February is the 2nd worst month of precipitation (January is 1st). Those averages are not exactly a draw for most people. The NFL is contemplating having the SB at the new Meadowlands in NJ. The biggest drawback- the weather. The capacity is over 80,000, and New York city obviously has enough hotel rooms, NY is home to the NFL HQ, but the weather is the kicker. The article, curiously, does not bring up the lease agreement between SC & CF. I suggest reading the comments left by readers at the bottom link of the article. Quite intresting!

Kings Island - Photos of Things Now Gone
Not only was it "the first stand-up coaster to do a loop", it was the first stand up coaster period. Huh? Anyway, yeah nice photos. Technically a fact is a statement that can be proved or disproved. Not trying to be a smart aleck, just sayin. I personally think a few people here are a bit sensitive. Sure unaccurate posts are annoying but cut him some slack he just contributed to the site very much. Let's give this a 4th try. The first North American stand-up looping coaster was KC. The first stand-up looping coaster is Momonga Standing and Loop Coaster is Japan. It opened in 1979 as a sit down coaster and in 1982 added a stand-up train. The ride still operates today. Now I think where the wires are getting crossed is that the Japan coaster was not an original stand-up coaster whereas KC was. Some people may not credit the Japan coaster for this reason; which IMO is wrong. http://rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&nm=na&cs=277&ty=1&de=7&page=1&order=10 http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/coasters/yellowpages/coasters/standing-loop-coaster_yomiuriland.shtml
