World's most popular beagle arrives at Kings Island

That suit is awfully small for two people to be in... Not if they are little people. Really? I mean, Really? -

I wonder if there is anything of substance to show. If most of the rides are staying, then come spring most of the painting & re-themeing will be added. -
Why doesn't Cedar Fair do this!?

CF needs to be more like SF and HW? I really think that the correct statement would be that CF & SF need to be more like HW when it comes down to customer service. When it comes to rides, there are way too many opinions out there. People, especially enthusiasts, are never satisfied. We really need to compare apples to apples. Comparing wood to steel is an unfair. But even at that, some of the steel rides you listed are fantastic rides (Maverick & DB come to mind) and justify the cost. IMO, many guests seem to favor the fast, smooth rides. Wood coasters generally do not have that combination. -
Oh boy... Just to clear the air; Vortex is not sinking. KC was not sinking. Magnum is not sinking. Sit back and think about it. How can a coaster sink? Is it the entire footprint, or part of the footprint? Are sinkholes common in the area? And would this sinkhole be considered one of the largest in the World? http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/offbeat-news/5-giant-holes-devoured-everything-around-them/1196 Now for a bit of history: The whole "coaster is sinking" started with Magnum at CP many moons ago on April Fool's Day. It is not, and has never been true.

And it's not even April 1st..... BTW, these topics come up when just using "sinking" in the search feature: =1"]http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=quick_search&search_filter_app[forums]=1

I suggest going to Wal-Mart and purchasing straps for your glasses (less than $5). They are adjustable, and will fit your glasses to your head very tightly. And if your hair is dark, the straps are hardly noticable. I wear them with my sunglasses at parks, as well as on my Sea-Doo, skiing, golfing, etc., and have never had any type of issue. Most parks & waterparks will also allow me to wear them without issue since they are so tight to my head. Something like this: http://www.bewild.com/adsunest.html

A Victory For Kings Island Is A Victory For Mason!
Browntggrr replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Again, I don't see why it makes a difference of who paid who. Any idiot can sit back and make stuff up to stir the pot. But it was the publisher that made the decision to print it, giving the information validity in some people's minds. Just because a check is handed out, does not mean they have to accept it. I compare the publisher to an ambulance chasing attorney. -

AuthorHouse is what is called a vanity press. What that means is the author PAYS them to publish the book. The author continues to own the book. Basically, AuthorHouse is a printer: http://www.authorhou...Us/Publish.aspx Put another way, no regular publisher accepted this 'gentleman's' book, so he paid to have it published. I really don't see the difference of who is paying who. If the publisher accepts money, or pays money, to print that material, their repuatation is tainted (or if they even have a repuation for that matter.) I can't imagine it was worth the money to warrent putting their name on that "read". -

Let's have a contest! Who is the bigger idiot- the author or the publisher. I'm with the publisher (AuthorHouse). Ryan- I can't blame you for ejecting this ass-clown. But even though he was trying to promote his propoganda through KIC, do you actually think someone would take the bait and actually purchase it? BTW- according to his site, he thoroughly enjoys DB. That scares me since I also enjoy DB. We agree on something? Yikes! -

Kudos to those that showed up, even more to those that voiced an opinion. Now I ask, what was the "heated" part of the discussion? -
KENTUCKY KINGDOM CLOSED

How many people do you think would travel over 600 miles or take a plane ride just to experience a park with the most coaster record? -
KENTUCKY KINGDOM CLOSED
Browntggrr replied to PKIDelirium's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm not totally sold on the power play theory. Given the state of the economy and SF as a company, if the lease is too expensive and the park will not make money (or even break even) what is the point of staying open? I can see SF just trowing in the towel if the deck is stacked against them, which is a typical attitude of many businesses going through financial issues. If one park is making money, and another is not, the company is not progressing. And what investors have faith in companies stuck in neutral? -
I can remember waiting for well over an hour for WWC back in 1985. The humidity is those trees was terrible!. WWC is definately one of the better raft rides. I am not a particular fan of the "waterfall dump" rides.

At 0.42 you can clearly see the "water tunnel" of Anaconda at KD.

The difference being TTD is no longer a maintenance nightmare as the ridership has increased each year from 562,438 in 2003 to 1,210,327 in 2008. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/coasters/top_thrill_dragster/index.cfm

All too true. See also: throw good money after bad also pour good money after bad to spend more money on something that has already failed If you try to fix that car, you'll simply be throwing good money after bad. There's got to be a better way to save our children than pouring good money after bad into government agencies.

LOL! The title for this topic just cracks me up! I was expecting something COMPLETELY different.

I gotta ask: What is a "dag near stroke"?

The name is catchy and will not easily be forgotten. I like it.
