It is funny that the article mentions that she worked at ACC, but does not mention what she actually did there. If it was something behind the scenes, yeah, nobody would care what her hair looked like. And given that she is just 18, and she was hired for games at CW, I doubt she had much contact with the guests at ACC, or she would have probably been in food & beverage at the park too.

Sad story. But it is rather laughable that some think that performing amimals are being treated cruel. What the World has learned from Sea World alone is simply amazing. Sure, there are some places that are questionable (Marineland in Canada for one), but Sea World certainly does not fall into that catagory. And it is not only Sea World, but Anheuser- Busch as a whole. I have been amazed what they have done for marine life, preserving bald eagles, and pretty much all animals.

Gaming Can Be A Gamble In Ohio
Browntggrr replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Not only a drive to Indiana, but Michigan (Detroit) and PA (Erie) as well. If people in Ohio want to gamble, the drive is not too far. So Ohio might as well approve gambling and keep the money in the state. But at least in Michigan, there are table games. In PA, we have only approved slots and video games at horse racing tracks. It really is rather funny to see so many Ohio plates at Presque Isle Downs. If I had to guess, at least 30% of the cars are from Ohio at any given time. -

I really don't think that the experience The Beast gives us would be the same w/o the trees being present. -
Oil Today Closed at $101.01
Browntggrr replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Sorry to question your knowledge, but do you have confirmation of these reserves and what kind of price tag that it would take to use these reserves? I only ask because, who owns the reserves? Is the owner holding the reserves like the United States holds onto gold (letting it increase in value)? Are the reserves to only be used in time of war when oil will be 100x more valuable than it is now? And my biggest fear, if you and I know about these reserves, then terrorists have to know. And what better way to cripple a nation than to destroy one of the most valued resources in the World. -

http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9177 Here is a thread that was started some time ago about the very same subject. Included are the reasons why the lake was removed. And more: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10900 http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=816 http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2074 -
It is humorous that the writer expects those at the front gates to catch every questionable t-shirt. I am willing to bet that most of those people either had another shirt or jacket over the questionable shirt when entering the park. While the writer also believes that he was being made a showpiece to "every park employee", I give credit to the girl that questioned his shirt to begin with. Instead of being the only one that made the call to not allow the shirt in, she brought in other people's opinions. Good move on her part. That way she cannot get singled out for making the call for not allowing the shirt in the park, or having a grudge against an unruley guest, and she also cannot be accused for having poor customer service.

Media day or not, TPR does have a good POV of Behemoth and some pics. Behemoth looks to have some fantastic airtime and great speed.

So we are about to be enlightened? That's good to know.

While Swan Lake was nice, I really can't tell you how many times I walked by it on my way to Beast and didn't even glance at it. I go to KI to enjoy the rides. Sure, the atmosphere of KI is made by things like Swan Lake but ultimately it's the rides that make the park. When I go to Niagara Falls, I expect to see the natural beauty of what the falls is all about, if the falls were not there or if some moron decide to block the prime viewing area for the falls, it wouldn't be worth going. The same goes for zoos, I go to a zoo to see the animals in their (somewhat) natural habitat. Now if a zoo would just have an animal in a cage w/o anytype of natural surrounding, I would not like it. It is sometimes difficult to understand why an unpopular decision is made. I still don't agree with the removal of KCKC for The Crypt, it wasn't worth it. I did feel the same way about the removal of WWL for Maverick, until I rode Maverick, and then the sting of not having WWL anymore was not as bad. The 2009 coaster has the opportunity to be a really good coaster. Now if CF has decided on a flop coaster and removed Swan Lake, much like Paramount decided with BLSC with the removal of the 'tiques and flyers, then the complaints will be numerous and loud. If it turns out to be a great ride, people (and myself) will be more apt to accept it.

^ Well with TGI Fridays in the same hotel, they really did need a unique choice for another restaurant. I guess Italian just did not fit the bill. -

And along with the things already mentioned, the cost of flour has jumped 50% over the last year: http://www.thefreshloaf.com/node/6343/cost-flour and the cost of corn has also skyrocketed mainly due to advances in ethanol (ironically trying to get away from using gas): http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/05/washingt...cnd-energy.html. The farmers that raise pigs and cows are now paying a premium for corn feed. That cost is then passed down to consumers. It is a vicious circle with no end is sight.

^ You think that KI is going to be sued for changing a restraint system for safety reasons? What would the complaint be?

What Was Your Impression of KI for Opening Day 08?
Browntggrr replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
It's funny how everyone outside of Erie always calls it "Erie Prep". I am a proud 1992 graduate of Cathedral Preparatory School. We unfortunately have a 1-5 record vs. Moeller, but it is tough to go against a school the size of Moeller when Prep has a school of less than 600. Prep has actually dropped to AAA in PA due to going up against much bigger schools in Pittsburgh in the playoffs. Little known things: Prep has graduated both Bob Sanders (Colts-safety) and Mark Stepnoski (Cowboys, Titans- center). Sanders obviously being the more well known due to being NFL defensive player of the year in 2007. -
