  1. Who ever said it was fine to be the same as everyone else? Certainly not me. I just do not believe that CF should be thrown into a catagory by themselves when there are many others out there just as guilty. Let's not give out any false impressions.
  2. Well, for me, insurance companies fall into the catagory right above lawyers. ...and the lawyer catagory is pretty low.
  3. While I think that this is a fantastic idea, I wonder how this will effect "loose items" for rides.
  4. I can understand your frustration with customer service at KI. But again, KI is certainly not the minority when it comes down to shoddy service. "You get what you pay for", at least when it comes down to having some employees work at minimum wage. Sure not all employees are like this, it's just that those who despise their job show it more to the customer. And it is those few that patrons seem to remember more than anything else. But in the employee's defense, I'm sure they are bit@#$% at all day for prices and for the length of wait which then turns their attitude sour. Which is exactly why I have complained for many seasons that KI does not have a sit-down restaurant. When I go to CP, my family will eat in our hotel room/ car (subs, sandwichs etc.) for lunches or snacks.. But when we want to eat dinner, we will go to Bay Harbour Inn or TGI Fridays. The employees there realize that part of their job is to make the guest feel "special" which in turn leads to a good tip. I honestly cannot remember anytime that I have been disappointed with either place.
  5. After reading all 3 articles, I was surprised to find out that they were not written by a certain bear lover from Atlanta.
  6. ^ Price gouging? You may want to clarify that CF is not the only business that can be put into that catagory. Upon my recent trips: - $25 for my family of 4 (2 adults & 2 kids) to see Horton Hears a Who before 6:00pm. Another $24.50 for 3 large drinks, large popcorn and nacho. - $120 for my same family to enjoy Splash Lagoon (indoor waterpark) in Erie, PA. $5.00 for a locker. $10 for two water guns. $20 for 2 orders of chicken fingers, with drink. CF is certainly not the minority when it comes to high prices.
  7. September 24th, 2003. I was a member of PKIU and then joined here. Intrestingly enough (and not to put anyone down) things here are much more civil than most enthusiast sites. Mention that you like CF, CP, KI, or even Beast at some sites and you would be amazed at how your opinion is treated. Not only do you have a completely terrible opinion, you should never leave your house to go to a park again because you have no idea what you are talking about. Kudos to the group here that things never get that bad.
  8. ^ The question is, will Crypt be operating opening day? If it is operating, then it will also be my first ride primarily due to wondering what the ride will be like with all the themeing working. Cause we all know what happens to highly themed rides. But if it is not operating, my first ride will certainly be Beast.
  9. Think of it this way: Prior to Top Gun being released, there was such a thing as Fightertown, USA (aka Mirimar). But prior to Forrest Gump, Bubba-Gump restaurants did not exist.

  11. Hershey is truely one of the best parks out there. And it's not just the rides that make a special park, the atmosphere is outstanding. It is one of only a couple parks (Kennywood & BGE) that made me feel like I did at KI back in the early to mid 80's. The midway near SDL and GB has that "old style" park feel to it, along with the smells. It there anything better than the combined smells of candy apples, cotton candy, and popcorn? The atmosphere actually made me stop on the midway and just look around with a smile on my face. It's just that Hershey is off the beaten path, so people will bypass it. If anyone has the opportunity of going, do it. You will not walk away disapponted.
  12. They actually have a commode in those cars (along with other necessities). "Look ma, I took a dump over London!"

  14. So is Maverick. and the finger.... .... and a pile of rubber dog ****...
  15. I don't believe that Fightertown USA was exclusive to Paramount. http://www.sci.fi/~fta/miramar.htm
  16. I was thinking the same thing. But come next year, it will feel even longer due to the anticipation of the rumored 2009 coaster.
  17. The Drop Tower logo looks like someting that would be found on a board game. http://www.playthingspast.com/mt506.html
  18. ^ Free insults involving KI, CP and just CF in general. The DVD with the insults will be $5 discounted from $10. The hoodie will be $25. (sorry no discounts on them)
  19. ^ I'm not saying that the park should not be held responsible for this particular incident, but, what a weasel like comment from the lawyer referring to the incidents involving cruiseships. Talk about planting a seed. Do you happen to know what did GWL do to fix the problem?
  20. If CF were to be going after sites owned/ operated by anyone that has employee ties, they are just fighting a no win battle. And I'm really not sure what the point would be if they were doing that. Employees can just go to another site, post under any name they want, and disclose & post material about their employer all they want. Some sites will take the material down immediately, while others (I have one on my mind) will post all material they receive, rumors or not. Even here, there are numerous ties between this site and KI. It's just that here, they have a tremendous amount of respect for the park and will not allow sensitive material to be posted and thus seem to have a great relationship with the park. I would be surprised that the officials at KD would not want that same type of relationship with a site promoting their park. Hey it is free advertising.
  21. That is some really nice stuff. Being a fan of KI, it is great to see what it was like when the park first opened compared to what it is today.
  22. Well it seems that the owner of the site did do something very wrong. And the park made the correct decision to have the site taken down. I'm just surprised that a park employee would do something without permission that they know is wrong. He would be lucky to keep his job after pulling a stunt like that.
  23. We also would read JacksonPKI's posts... And I don't have to go into detail about what that meant. Seriously though, what Lance did by posting the info on Maverick was nothing different than the employee that hopped a fence and took pics of the construction of Swan Lake. They both new that the information was privledged, but chose to post it anyway.
  24. For me, the decor is no big deal. But where I would have lost it is when I had to bring up my luggage to my room. If I had to pay $494/ night (I believe this is the room cost based on Chef's info) they had better bring up my luggage to my room.
  25. ^ That is rather peculiar. Given that the park just opened this past weekend, and the site posted pics, it seems strange that the site would have already have been taken down prior to business Monday at request of KD. So I would have to think that one of two things happened: 1) They did something very wrong during opening weekend, -or- 2) Someone hacked their site.
