  1. Well its not really a rumor anymore. Has there been a press release from KI stating that both trains on Racer will be forward this year?
  2. ^ Does that mean you will not go to KI because there is a rumor that both trains on Racer will be going forward?
  3. I'm not so sure that the age of the operator did not have anything to do with the accident. I'm not saying that her age was a direct result as to what happened, but her age could have been one piece of many things that failed. There is no doubt that the operator cannot control if a ride fails or not, so age makes no difference there. But as far as reaction time and knowledge of how the ride operates, I would rather see a 18 year old. http://www.whas11.com/topstories/stories/0...y.215957ed.html Yes, a 16 year old can drive. But a 16 year old cannot vote, or even (and this maybe bringing up a touchy subject) agree to have consensual sex without a parent's permission. There is a thin line there sepearting what a 16 year old can and can't do, Kentucky just made it a law.
  4. A trip to HRP is in my families' plan this year. I have always been very intrested in the early years of KI, especially the pics. Now I will be able to experience the same thing at HRP from it's opening year to (hopefully) 30 years from now.
  5. Let me see.. Oh ya, I remember this: Or is it ok to be a topic concenration camp, but not a corrections concentration camp? Just wondering...
  6. ^ Yeah. Too many "Kings" spoil the broth... Nope that's not right.
  7. Tell Uncle Wilbur to quit hitting the eggnog. Seriously though, why would a person that had close enough ties to the design/ construction knowingly allow an unsafe ride to operate? Talk about a weight on your shoulders....
  8. The can't film the future. They "leaped" into the future.
  9. ^ Thanks. I'm rather limited due to work computer.
  10. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm Check out CP's webcams. If someone that knows how to take a snapshot of the Main Midway cam, please do. I cannot do it. In two of the cams, you cannot see a thing due to the ice that formed on the cameras due to the ice storm that those on the shores of Lake Erie have experienced over the past 24 hours. Also notice the cam that shows the skyride (Main Midway). There is a cable of some type that appears to have fallen or broken off due to the storm. And can someone find the "What's wrong with this picture" in the cams? It is rather funny.
  11. ^ Ruts in it's track? Exactly what track are you referring to?
  12. Sure, some logos would look out of place on some rides. But the logo that is on both Detonator and Mean Streak fits both rides.
  13. Talk about splitting hairs. Should have I put it this way to suit your needs- The percentage of being able to determine what a ride is by looking at it from the midway entrance is much higher than being able to determine what is inside a book from it's cover. Or to put it another way: You can't judge a book from it's cover.
  14. Similar to the cover of a book? You can't see what is in a book, but you can certainly see past the entrance sign to a ride and see what kind of ride it is or what kind of ride it is like.
  15. ^ You would be surprised on how many parks with "racing" coasters actually do not race often. But if CF continues the trend that they have done with Gemini, Racers will race more often than not. We probably should also wait to pass judgement until it actually happens. I'm just waiting to have someone mention that Kennywood's Racer always races so why can't KI's.
  16. There are many coasters that have been duplicated not only with their logos, but in design as well as name. Absolutely nothing unusual there.
  17. Sad story, yet rather similar to the issues between Teresa and Dale Earnhardt Jr. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/au...art-790888.html
  18. It would be nice to continue having the option of going both directions. We will just have to wait to see if the rumor is true.
  19. If CP stays true to their history, planning a ride removal leads way to a new ride. Since DD has been for sale for a few years now, there is a good chance that 2008 will be it's last year.
  20. More discussion: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5948 http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10736 http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9747
  21. This discussion go go many ways. Witch one though?

But if it was relocated, it had to be removed... Brown- who just had to!
  23. And until those decisions do start effecting the bottom line there will be no changes. There has been so many complaints about CF's decisions to shut down rides "when it starts sprinkling". But people need to remember that there was an accident at CP this past season due to wet brakes. Parks tend to have a knee-jerk reaction to things like this. Also, CP has a rather advanced weather system which is necessary due to how quickly storms pop up on Lake Erie (which many enthusiasts are not aware of). Perhaps there was lightning associated with the sprinkling, and those waiting in line for a ride would never know about that.
