  1. ^ Really? MS over Gemini? Is there a specific reason that you feel that way, or is it just one of those *things*?
  2. Sure Gemini may not always race early in the day, but there is no reason to. When the crowds do pick-up both sides do operate. Most of the time they have to block off the middle part of the train operating and add the sandbags so the train keeps moving through the last turn around on the East end. If they don't do that the train will stop. If they have to block off parts of a train, what sense does it make to have two trains operating?
  3. Saddest day of your life? Becuase a ride has changed back to it's original status? Kinda funny how your signature has: The whole backward gimmick has lasted 26 years. It is time for a change. Remember, there is no reason (at least they haven't given one) that it cannot be switched back in the future. This is a good decision, as long as Racer actually races most of the time.
  4. The quality of a coaster can be debated for an infinite amount of time. I.E.- I really enjoy Apollo's Chariot at BGE, while some do not. It's no big deal, just a difference of opinions. But what strikes me about the comments Mr. Thomas made, he makes it sound that SFMM not only has better quality coasters, but fails to understand that a quality coaster has to actually operate to be enjoyed. SFMM has had a very difficult time keeping their coasters running consistantly. They may have turned the corner on X by adding the new trains, but that has not been proven yet. And Colossus (a racing coaster) never races anymore.
  5. Someone needs to ask Mr. Thomas if CP used the title: "Operating roller coaster capital of the world”, if he would object. He obviously made this quote thinking enthusiasts don't know how to read.
  6. Yeah seriously. We should discuss something new, like when Vortex and Flight Deck are being torn down.
  7. http://www.coasterbuzz.com/charmland/ This is one of the funniest thigs I have seen recently. Kudos to Jeff!
  8. If there is risk involved that means rides are designed to not be 100% safe. And SF still chose this particular ride and operate it? How can they not be held responsible? The operator has already mentioned that she was unable to press the E-Stop. Did she not know what the E-Stop was for? Was she not in position to actually press the button? Was she not in a position to see what was happening when the cable broke prior to the ride actually dropping? These are all questions that have yet to be answered. There is no doubt that the ride operator did not cause the ride failure. Nobody is blaming her for the failure. But as a ride operator, you need to be aware of what is happening with the ride & riders at all times. When something goes wrong, the ride operator needs to take control of the ride to prevent an accident from happening. That is the exact reason for having a E-Stop button. How are you possibly believe that a ride is putting everyone in a life and death situation? That is crazy. I'm sorry to understand that you are disabled, but when that accident happened did you know that you had the possibility of being disabled by being on someone else's property? KK could have prevented it by not operating the ride. KK could have prevented it by having more safety inspections. KK could have prevented it by replacing the cable on a weekly basis. Sure, replacing the cable on a weekly basis seems like overkill, but, that is no different than the girl preventing the accident by not going on the ride. Yeah, and the reason why it has not come back with any conclusive evidence is because they have been fighting in court as to who is going to inspect the integrity of the cable. If SF is confident enough that they have done nothing wrong, why does it matter who inspects it? SF also wants to bring Intamin invloved as well. If it was just an accident, why would they have to protect themselves? LOL. Sure, now tell that to the family who lost their daddy at the hands of a driver that is under the influence. Because by your standards, the father did not have to drive on the road he was on. It was his choice to drive. Right? Oh yeah, mom doesn't work because she stays at home caring for the children. Sorry. You comments are cold and ignorant. You have absolutely no facts. You obviously also have an axe to grind when it comes down to your unfortunate situation and similar incidents. While it may be difficult not to interject your own personal feelings when it comes down to the SFKK incident, not every incident is the same. Don't compare yourself to the young girl being discussed. It is unfair to her, and it is also unfair to yourself.
  9. Remember how I mentioned earlier that other sites have a rather intresting way of treating people? If anyone wants to get a good laugh at how others view KI, check out a certain site that has people buzzing about coasters. Apparently, CF Gutting KI's atmosphere just like CP with the construction of the rumored 2009 coaster. Alll I can say is *WOW* how some people can spin things. The whole conversation is rather funny. I would just post the link, but they have some sensitive materials there that are just not appropriate for KIC. Nothing bad, just sensitive.
  10. I'm really not sure how to feel about this one. I suppose that I just cannot figure out why anyone would even make that type of comment, humorus or not.
  11. Perhaps. I do know that the whole Disney Quest idea never took off the way is was imagined to. I'm sure we can thank all of the recent advanced technology of home gaming systems for that one. While I did enjoy DQ, I'm sure the cost of constantly re-inventing itself is more than they could bring in.

  14. So is Maverick. and the finger.... .... and a pile of rubber dog ****... Nope. Maverick is an INTAMIN roller coaster at Cedar Point. Mavrick is a Top Gun reference. People OFTEN don't spell the latter correctly. Umm. Yup. Please note the spelling of Maverick on his helmet. http://www.moviemarket.co.uk/Photos/T10349...7bf2bfc407f51f3 ... and on the jet... http://www.starpulse.com/Movies/Top_Gun/ga...p-Gun-movie-10/ ... and at the end of the movie. http://www.moviescreenshots.blogspot.com/2...p-gun-1986.html
  15. I was tagged a CF "fanboy" at TPR when I disagreed with a member that was rather critical of how CP does not clean up all the seagull *droppings* on a daily basis in the parking lot. Apparently to the majority there, this is the cause for the widespread disease that has plagued CP for many years now.
  16. That really was a great TR. I could almost *hear* the enthusiasim in your voice. Will you be posting the pics?
  17. I would hope not. The parks are over 350 miles away from each other. Now the way gas prices are and since the park is new, HRP quite possibly be in for a bit of trouble themselves.
  18. That food cost is more than you think. Being in the food business (in a past life ), the cost of not only food, but all the supplies that go along with serving food is about 35% of the total cost for a particular item. Then add in the utility costs (which have been going up with the cost of oil) and overhead, there really is not that much left over to make a profit.
  19. The current trend of food service providers (i.e. Sysco, Curtze, Maple Valley) is that they have been increasing the cost of their food/ supplies with the increasing gas prices. That only means there is an excellent chance that food prices will not only increase not only at KI, but at most food service venues.
  20. ^ Frosty ice water just doesn't have the same *kick* I was looking for.
  21. It really doesn't matter what soft drinks will be sold at KI. The real question is: What frosty beverages will we have to choose from in 2008?
  22. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12400801/ I suppose this is the reason why gas jumped over $.10 today to $3.41/ gallon.
  23. This is not that big of a deal anymore. The wait for Beast is usually not that long to justify a special walkback.
