Red Racer's New Logo
^ The only one playing with words here is you. If you wanted your statements to be a personal level, I suggest next time to use the PM feature. That way, your "genralizations" will not be misunderstood.

Red Racer's New Logo
Oh, I see. You were referring only to one person, yet used "some of us who don't blindly support everything the park does." So those who don't agree with you, and agree with Bodda, are not in the "blindly support" catagory that is only for him? Yeah, that is clear as mud.

Red Racer's New Logo
How are you coming up with "blind support"? Not disagreeing with everything that the park does should in no way be considered anytype of "blind support". That is treading real close to the "fanboy" mentality. We have only seen what the logo looks like through a picture. But those who don't disagree with everything the park does is being put into a "blind support" catagory? Let's see the logo in person before we really judge how it is.

I would hope so. What a waste if they don't build the project somewhere else.

What was your best ever experiance at a park? EVER!
I'm sure I told this story here before but... In 2000 at CP. The wife and I went to a July, Friday wedding in Pittsburgh (yuck) and after, decided to drive to CP for the weekend. We arrived at CP about 3:00am only to find that Sandcastle was booked, and that there was only 1 room available at Hotel Breakers, which ended up being a suite for $350 a night. We were both dead tired and figured what the heck, let's do it. Once we got to the room, there was a "Do not disturb" sign on the door. Well there was no way I was going to possibly walk in on someone, so I used a house phone and called the room. Yup, it was occupied. So we went back down to the front desk, and told them the situation. Boy were the desk clerks flipped out about that one. Apparently, the people in the room switched during the day, and it was never updated in the system. And to really cap things off, they were doing their nightly purge, and could not find out what room they came from, or if there were other people in it. Well, the desk clerk went into the back office for about 5 minutes. When she returned, she VERY apologetic, and told us that there was one more room left, and that we would pay the same rate as out previous room. OK, sounds great. Then she proceeded to tell us that we would need to use our room card to get to the 10th floor. Whoa! Really? We got to the elevator, used the card, and proceeded to the 10th floor. The Concierge floor. NICE! Then we got to the room. It had a nice, gold plaque with the words "Presidential Suite" on it. OH BOY! We walked into a: marble floor, 10 person dining room table. 3 queen beds, one king bed, Jacuzzi, 2 screened in porches overlooking Lake Erie and the CP beach, 3 TV's, a full kitchen etc. This room had the works. We woke up Saturday morning to a free buffet breakfast, newspapers, and computers w/ internet access in the concierge room. They had the works for us. Then we found out that MF was hit by lightning Friday night which fried the computer and it would be down for the day. Well that stinks, but hey crap happens. I called the front desk and explained that we planned to stay for 2 days, but we really did not need this kind of room. The manager got on the phone and said: "Mr. Bruno, you were so understanding last night, you can stay in that room another night for the same rate." NICE! We ended up doing stuff in the park we usually bypass like Soak City and most of the smaller rides. It was a great day. We ended up being in the park at sundown and started to hit all the bigger rides since the Saturday crowds were all going home. At about 11:00pm, (the park was open till midnight) I bought a beer at the Red Garter and just happened to look at the MF station and noticed that there was all kinds of activity going on, which seemed rather unusual for a closed ride one hour before the park closed. We decided to head to the line entrance and inquire what was happening. Well, we received the usual "ride is closed, we don't expect it to be open" line, but we waited anyway. Not even 5 minutes later, we heard the noise, and we then saw the yellow train come around. Boy, were those cheers LOUD! The phone rang, and they opened the line up. We ended up riding about 7 times before the line got too big, and we were just tired from running back and forth. I was told that the head of maintenance (I assume Monty Jasper) took an immediate flight to Germany after MF was hit, to get the computer parts necessary and flew back to the US. CP ended up leaving the line open until 2:00am. It was truely the best park experience we ever had. And much of it had to do with the customer service we recieved from the park staff. They were great. I know that many have a negative feeling towards CF for multiple reasons, but this would be my reason for defending them the way I do.

SFNE Dark Knight NOT to open in 2008; Glow In The Park Parade Coming
^ I understand what you are saying, but SF also started building without permits. I'm sure that if they would have followed the letter of the law, the project would not have been scrapped. Now if, god forbid, something tragic like a fire would have happened and their were fatalities, I can only imagine the public outcry if the government's response was "for the good of the community we let it pass inspection".

SFKK: Girl Injured in Accident
This is not a surprise. I really didn't expect SFKK to come out and say that their ride manager of the past 9 years was accurate in his statement. I mean, c'mon, I'm sure the PR department is quite confident that they know more about maintaining their rides more than him.

VIP jackets
darn Cedar Fair for offering you a free jacket you just threw away! Can you believe that suck-a$$ company for making you lose your free voucher? And on a lighter note.... deerhunter and the rest of the members at Theme Park Review also blame global warming, potholes, and acne on Cedar Fair as well. darn that company sucks! Actually what I am ticked off about the most..is we were told on TWO different occasions to be there on a certain day at a certain time to pick the things up...we drove all the way from Chillicothe twice..and nobody knew where the jackets were. Well considering that they told you to hold on to your vouchers, which you didn't, it is quite possible that you did not follow the specific dates and times for the jacket pick-up. And even if they DID tell you on two different occasions as to when to pick-up the jackets, why would you not call ahead on the second go-around so you did not make a needless trip a second time?

Something Else Old Becomes New Again
WOW, there certainly is a lot more foilage now. Good thing that they won't be bringing back the nostalgia on that one. It looks much better now.

Oil Today Closed at $101.01
If families are trying to save money, they were not planning on eating in the park anyway, no matter what the cost of food was. Even in the early 80's, when my family would visit KI, we always had a cooler with food. It is always cheaper to bring your own, than to purchase it at the park. Some venues will not allow you to leave to go back to your car (sporting events, concerts), and at other venues, it is just way too difficult (indoor waterparks) unless you have a hotel room. I'm just happy that at KI, and every other park that I have been to, we have the luxury to do that.

Why thanks Captain Obvious! You figured that all on your own! And only close to one month after someone already pointed that same fact. Now the funny thing is that you are laughing at a spelling mistake.

What is the worst park you have ever been to? EVER!
^ That is exactly what we did. We spent a little over a half day at PKD, and spent the rest of our trip at BGE. VERY happily I might add. Needless to say, if it was not for having a season pass, and the fact that KD has Volcano, it would probably be 10 more years before I would even think of going back.

Kings Dominion. It's the only park that I actually intentionally left early due to not having a good time.

Red Racer's New Logo
If the park had not put a logo on the front of the trains, people would have complained. If the park had put on the old logo, people would have complained. The park put on a different logo, people are complaining. Funny how when the logos were not there, people did not complain. Sigh.
