Halloween Will Be Scariest Ever, Park Officials Warn
Well it is a good thing that the name was changed. Now I really wonder how many people are going to complain that their 8 year old was too scared and that the park should have let people know about the changes. It's bound to happen.

Cedar Fair Reports Attendance & Revenues Through Labor Day
We complained about food pricing before CF took over. We complained about customer service before CF took over. While CF did not do much to help the situation this year, making drastic changes at the park before you learn about each parks' demographics would not help either. CF was not built over night. They already has a template set on how to operate a successful park(s). Now trying to get all the parks to follow the same idea is a challenge. One that will not happen in 15 months. Yet already, CF has changed one big issue reguarding 2008 season passes where not only did they make it cheaper, it is also more uniform. I expect more changes to come. It is easy to sit back and second guess the decisions (or non-decisions) that CF has made. Now if we have the same complaints in 2010 that we have in 2007, then CF is in trouble. But as of right now, I'm going to give them the opportunity to change things before I write them off.

New for Holiday World in 2008
Wednesday, September 12, 2007 Before we let it slip... This time of year, we always worry about leaks. We have a pretty good idea what we're adding for next year, but there's all that naming, designing-of-logo(s), putting-together-of-fact-sheet(s) and webpage redesign(s) busywork that just takes time. Enter Mike, our sales director. He's already hitting the road, selling the '08 season. Sworn to secrecy. It just about kills him every year. So, out of respect for Mike's children, who love their daddy, we push ourselves to make the announcement each fall just a bit before each "t" is crossed and "i" is dotted. I'm a believer in releasing the information on our website at the same time we talk to the media...so be sure to check back on Thursday, September 20, as we plan to tip our hand that morning around 11 am. posted by Paula at 1:42 PM http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/holiblog.html

Top Guns old queue
No, not everything. Just 5 out of 17 coasters. Practically 30%. 4 of 9 new coasters in the past 18 years, plus one new paint scheme. What was the color scheme chosen for Firehawk? If Crayola only used one color for 30% of their product, there would be no need for those really cool boxes with the shapener in the back! Point is, they REALLY like shades of red. Kind of like thier infatuation with "M" roller coasters. ... or garbage cans.

Red? KI is a CF park. Soon everything will be red!

new ride idea
Did they even have that many patrons?

eek! Top gun!
^ I hope that is not tooken out either. Not that I know what tooken means, but it does sound bad.

Top Thrill Dragster to PKI?
Wow. Just... Wow.

Paint Jobs
Vortex was just recently painted. You can't expect the park to re-paint everything every year.

What do you think will be the future of Geauga Lake?
Steel Venom is going to Dorney.

Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal Topic
^ Yes I am. The old Mill Run was a rather intresting ride. Kids would constantly dump in a couple bottles of Mr. Bubble causing mass chaos.

Smoker Escorted Out of SFGAm
There has to be more to the story. I really can't see the park kicking a person without just cause. Chances are, the smoker was given a chance to put it out, and they did not heed the warning, too bad for them. And good decision for the park.

What do you think will be the future of Geauga Lake?
Steel Venom won't be in storage for long.

SGGAm Cited For Serious, Repeated OSHA Violations
What is the definition of stupid? A government agency pointing out that a company is in violation of a certain regulation, and then the company turns around and does nothing to correct the issue. They deserve every penny of the fines.

What stinks about Kings Island
I suppose I was just expecting Winterfest '05 to be like it was in the late 80's.
-
If Kings Island got its own web cam...
Now that is what I call timing. CP has installed another cam near the Good Time Theatre (ice show) looking North on the midway. Apparently they were having dry runs for the Halloweekends parade. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm

What stinks about Kings Island
When Paramount brought back Winterfest in '05 they half-assed it. It was really nothing more than window dressing for an event that they cancelled after the 1992 season and brought back as a selling piece to a potential new owner. Not to mention, CF already had enough on it's plate with the acquisition of Paramount Parks. Winterfest did not make enough money (if any at all) to warrent the time to try and bring it back to what it was before Paramount cancelled it.

Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal Topic
The thing is, 15 years ago, flumes like this were at many parks. And boy, they were terrific family rides! I'm just glad that the park near me just installed one a couple years ago.

Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal Topic
The decision was made by multiple factors, not just one. High maintenance + low ridership + land already developed (flat) = removal

2008 Season Pass Info
Since CP actually sells out the hotels on a daily basis, I highly doubt there would be any kind of discount other than the normal "plan" they have always offered.

Demon Drop...
^ Really? Why is that?
-
If Kings Island got its own web cam...
The CP website is actually adding two more cams somewhere in the park. They have had 2 brand new cams for about 2 months now, but have not yet put them online, or, have not found a good placement for them yet.

Demon Drop...
^ Actually the area that DD is bigger than you would think, as is the rather large parking lot on that side of the peninsula as well. http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?i=3269
