  1. For those who loved GL... Sorry, it is gone. It would take a miracle to save it now. This was not an easy decision for CF to make (even though conspiracy theorists will argue with that). You can take the time to sign the petition, but it will only be a waste of time. CF is currently balencing their 2008 budget, which does not include GL. Now some can try and make the arguement that they will not go to a CF park anymore; and CF's response will be a quick "sorry to hear that, but, you didn't visit GL anyway. That is why it is closing."
  2. Sad, but not exactly surprising. It is funny though to listen to other people and how they blame CF for ruining the park and they cannot believe that it is coming to this.
  3. Lets just agree to disagree and call it a day.
  4. The land for the majority of Vortex is much higher than the land for Beast. That entire area slopes down toward the Little Miami River. Where is there a river on highland, where the lower land is dry? And please don't say New Orleans. And if you are going to show pictures, show the whole ride and land. Not just a small part of the ride to try and save your arguement.
  5. While it may appear that the land is lower, it is not. After being on many behind the scenes tours of both rides, it is clear the total land that Vortex is on is higher than Beast station. Perhaps part of the land (lift hill) would be below Beast station, but for this particular discussion of Vortex sinking (which is rather foolish) a majority of the land is well above the station.
  6. Vortex does not sit below Beast. Not even close. From the outside... .. looking in. AGAIN!
  7. Well the story is now (take it for what it's worth) that the whole video was staged per request of the young boy's parents and the lady that stopped Pluto was actually a third party not understanding what was going on. Again, this is just another story out there. But after watching the video, I would have to think that if Pluto (costume and all) really wanted to get the kid, he could have. It also explains on why it appears that there is no supporting cast member with Pluto; they were just not in the video. Eh, who knows...
  8. Sundays in September & October are traditionally slow, with the exception of Columbus Day weekend. I would avoid the park that entire weekend unless I was with a travel group. But still, you never know. The weather forcast has looked good all week, so there could be many people planning on going as well.
  9. The only way that I can see the heartline roll come back is if they make it a very gradual roll as opposed to the quick roll (or compact) that it was.
  10. The only "grout" that I know is the kind that is used between ceramic tiles. It could be used just as a filler for a footer that has deteriated just a bit.
  11. Some will be upset with the change, but it is fair. But they should have waited till the beginning of the 2008 season.
  12. I would rather see more flats than a coaster like that.
  13. I wouldn't put too much stock in it. but... Being a stockholder I am much happier that he is buying rather than selling.
  14. H78 would signify what part of the ride that is (row/ column). Dates on pieces of wood would signify as to when that particular piece of wood was replaced.
  15. If you had the worst day of your life at an amusement park, you are one lucky individual. "A bad day at a park is still better than a good day at work."
  16. Actually, it does appear that Disney has moved away from the traditional kids' rides to a more thrill ride atmosphere catering not only kids to younger moms & dads seeking thrill rides. http://www.orlando-florida.net/pressreleas...disneyworld.htm Even some of the vacation promotions are catering to younger families with vacation plans under $1000 which includes meals.
  17. ^ The "search" feature here is quite incredible. It is rather amazing what you can look up, and it's easy too!
  18. If the weather is nice, Halloweekends Saturday will have as many people as a Saturday in July/ August. It is "crazy" busy. If you want to enjoy the haunts with limited rides, go on Friday. If you want to enjoy the rides with limited waits and no outside haunts, go on Sunday. I would avoid October 5th- 7th (the 7th also happens to be the last day the park is open till 10:00pm). Columbus Day is the 8th and many families will use that weekend to their advantage since there will be no school on Monday.

  20. While it is unhealthy & nasty to find a bathroom in that shape, it sounds like vandalism. Sit back and think of it. How can every toilet be plugged and someone took a healthy one in two different stalls? I want a clean bathroom too, but I can't expect a park to do cleaning checks every 10 minutes.

    eek! Top gun!

The expense would not justify the modification, not only for the trains, but for the station rebuild for the removable floor. I would also question if those trains could handle the forces that TG would give it.
  23. ^^ There really was not much too it. A couple of computer banks with flashing lights, some flags, a couple of fake missles (which went well with the computer banks), some control panals etc.
  24. The neon would fade too quickly and look like terrible. And when I think of that kind of green, I keep thinking of what CF did to WildCat at CP. A shade of green and purple. It reminds me of Vince McMahon's defunct XFL. But why change it at all? The dark blue/ orange looks rather decent offset with the woods behind it.
