  1. How can you form an opinion about a ride that: 1) the footers are not even poured yet. -and- 2) you have not been on yet. So now I ask the question; if you had the choice of having a ride like F97 or nothing at all, you would choose nothing?
  2. ^^ The similarities are that both coasters are low to the ground, have numerous and very quick transitions, have inversions, and use smaller than traditional trains. It really just comes down to: you say tomato and I say tomato. (You know, that makes so much more sense when you say it aloud)
  3. It really has nothing to do with CP, but more with the recomendations for seatbealt length from Intamin for MF and TTD. CP could ignore what Intamin said, but, that would leave the door open to many issues if an incident would happen to occur. Now with Maverick, it has OTSR's and caters to a majority of America. Chances are anything over a 38" waist will not be able to enjoy MF or TTD.
  4. ^ Nice. I'm hoping that he was politely escorted from the park.
  5. ^ The water ride is Congo. It does appear the the Arrow coaster could very well be Vortex.
  6. So I have to ask: Why were you crying? Was it the pain, or the fear of what might not work anymore on your body after riding SoB? I can see it now: Aleve & Viagra: official medications for SoB!
  7. Now that is the way to use the "search" feature! January 2004! A ride where youhave to "learn" how to ride it is not right. A ride where you have to sit in a specific seat to get a smoother ride is not right. A ride where after you ride it, you need to take a break from riding another ride is not right. "Jerky" as SoB has been defined does not do it justice. More like "jackhammering". And no, just because it is a wood coaster does not mean that it has to beat you into submission. There are many wood coasters out there that are very smooth. So now I ask: why are some wood coasters smooth, while others are like riding a Big Wheel down a dirt road?
  8. This looks to be a great addition for Hershey. Does anyone else feel that the time of higher & faster coasters is now behind us?
  9. Then why did you quote me? Yeah, I can tell you hate arguing. Stop trolling.
  10. Why does a park need to have tall coasters so they are not sad? Some of the best coasters out there are not tall at all. Not to mention, if it would happen to get moved to Carowinds, it would only be the tallest by 1.5'. The Big Dipper is one of the favorite coasters at the former GL, and it is only 65'.
  11. Least1979- I asked about the pre-Paramount years. Not their first couple of years.

  13. ^ I have never been a pro-Paramount person, but, they did not "ruien" (dude, get spell check) the park. They certainly took the park in a different direction from the previous owner, and sure, you can question many of their decisions, but they did not hurt the park. And Beast1979, do you remember the pre-Paramount years?
  14. It's just too bad that everyone did not feel the same way. If that was the general feeling, we would not be having this discussion.
  15. ^ Ah. That explains it. I hardly ever go into BB. I was really hoping it did not stand for Days UF Thunder.
  16. ^ What is DUT? It is probably the easiest thing to figure out, but, I'm stumped.
  17. ^ There has been many opinions thrown around about online petitions and how pointless they are. This is one that is worth it.
  18. The thing is; GL's closing was not unexpected. That rumor has been flying around since Steel Venom & X-Flight were being taken down.
  19. History clearly shows that it is not a factor when it comes down to a park's plan for new rides. Especially now with Paramount out of the picture and the park being under CF's ownership for over one year now.
  20. Being depressed and losing sleep because of a park is closing? Especially a park that has been rumored to close for the last year.... I seriously wish that my life would be so easy that a issue of this magnitude is the reason I would lose sleep.
  21. There is not a whole lot different from your theory and what actually happened in 2007. CF built Maverick, Renegade, and Sierra Sidewinder new for 2008. They spent big bucks on all the work done for SoB, including new trains. They also removed two rides from GL, relocating one of them with the other ride to be reconstructed in 2008. Not to mention, CF has not given a timetable of when they are going to remove, transport, and reconstruct rides from GL. It could drag out for up to five years. Or CF could put some rides for sale and put the cost of taking the rides out onto the buyer.
  22. ^ I guess I'm confused on how you are getting ripped off. You paid a flat rate to enjoy the park as many times as you wish, and that rate is actually paid off in 3 visits. HH is a special event that includes attractions that are not at the park all summer. And you think that you should not have to pay an extra fee? When you buy a car, do you expect the car with the standard 3.0 engine and the 2.7 twin turbo to be the same price? Of course not. One is normal, one is special. Wow. We don't even know of how HH will go this year, but from all the early reports it is going to be a huge hit. And you are already comparing it to Winterfest? How is that even possible? There were many TR the last few years, after Paramount stopped making FF an upcharge event, that there were too many people in the park and that you could not enjoy all the haunts in one night and it wasn't worth the money that was paid. Then this year the rumor that HH will be an upcharge event, and that pi$$ed everyone off because they were not notified when they purchased their pass. But it turned out to be just a rumor and HH is still free this year. Now the park has already told everyone that HH in '08 will be an upcharge, and people are still pi$$ed. Can't some people ever be satisfied?
  23. At least not in 2008. But in the next 5 years? Sure it is possible.

    eek! Top gun!

This is not like the difference between fire engine red and brick red, so it is not a gray area of discussion. The difference between blue and grey is not a matter of opinion. And if you didn't care, why even mention that you thought it was blue?
