^ That would be the hook that brings the car to the top. That webcam has a frozen picture to it.
-
^Nothing has moved in that picture, including the clouds, in the last half since you started the thread for it. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-0...ed_N.htm?csp=34

I am wondering if they are going to use the "sensor dummy" to measure the forces given during the ride.
-
ROTFLMAO! Ya, there is absolutely NOTHING offensive about that!
-
^ That is just a tad overboard. Don't ya think?

Well that would explain why I was unsure if PKD's was closed.

^ Or since the 4th is on a Wednesday, they know that some people don't have the 5th of July off, so it is easier to have a fireworks promotion when mom or dad don't have to work the next day. I am just one of the lucky ones though. We are on a 2 week shutdown starting June 29th. WooHoo!

^^^^ Don't be surprised that DZ closed. When the same type of rides, especially from the same manufacturer, the common practice in the past was to shut all those rides down for a thourough inspection. As well they should. Some of the rides that were not involved in the accident were only down for a short period of time, while others were down for an extended amount of time. Accident on DZ at PGA shut down both PKI's & (I believe) PKD's. Restraints. Accident on S:RoS at SFNE shut down MF. Restraints. This has resulted in the shortening of the seatbelts. Accident on KK at SFGA shut down TTD. Catch car crashed. Chaos frame broke at MA which shut down all of those rides across the country. Now the ironic thing here is, except for the Chaos rides by Chance, all of these rides are by Intamin. I'm sure there are more examples.

SFKK: Girl Injured in Accident
Browntggrr replied to joecoaster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^ Where did you hear that at? Not true. Not true at all. Each ride has completely different types of magnets. -
Saying that you will not not go on DZ again is your choice. But it is a knee-jerk reaction. We still don't know details as to how the accident happened or if there is a reason why it happened. Also, both rides are rather different.

It seems that the launch side of Power Tower at CP is operating, but the drop side is not. http://www.cleveland.com/cedarpointcam/ I am rather confused with that.

^^ How the heck did I do that? C is not even close to M! Yeah, typos can be funny. Especially the ones that are obviously incorrect, but, are they really....?

SFKK: Girl Injured in Accident

http://www.cnn.com/video/player/player.htm...s.accident.wdrb There are no words that can truly explain how tragic this is. I just pray that the surgeries will come out 100% effective. -
Great Wolf Buys Out CBS Interest In GWL
Browntggrr replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island
If CF was contemplating building a hotel (hey it's a wild stab) I would think that there could be a major ride that follows. Something like when CP added the tower section to Hotel Breakers which started in 1997 and opened in 1999. In 2000 a little blue coaster opened that would go 92 mph. (Yeah, I hear you laughing at me- One can dream!) -
^ Over 90% of the normal world (hey we are all enthusiasts- nothing normal about us! ) won't even know the difference.

^Station modification? That is the easy part. Adjusting prox switches, photo eyes, blocks etc. would be more of a concern. And never say never. If a 3 car train is what it takes to get the multi-million dollar lawn ornament operating, you can bet your pressed SoB logo coin that is exactly what CF will do.

Meet the Nicktoons, Son of Beast and More!
Browntggrr replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
^ Great pics! I especially like the ones of BGE. That is one of a very few parks that I just don't care how much money it costs to get in or how much food costs. Everything is just beautiful, and the food is fantastic. I'm getting itchy to go again. You should do a trip report. Also- When I logged on this morning and saw the new picture of Jimmy Neutron, Diego, Dora, SB, and Patrick it hit me. PITTSBURGH CHEATERS OFFENSIVE LINE! Ahhh, Training camp is 5 weeks away! -
I am not an engineer, but I would have to imagine that to get an accurate test you would need the entire train that you intend on operating. Unless this was just the test to see on how the track gauging modifications came out, and how it will glide *snicker, snicker* on the track.

Well speaking of prices... The US Open was in my neck of the woods this past weekend (Oakmont, PA). I did not have the privilege of attending, but some of the guys I work did go. Now this was told to me, I did not actually see this information myself, so take it for what it is worth. Ticket for Friday- $100 Small bottle of water- $5 Hot Dog- (sit down for this!) $20 Now since I did not go to the US Open, I did go to the Cleveland Zoo Saturday morning/ early afternoon & then to the Cleveland Indians game later in the afternoon. My wife made sandwiches & we brought bottled water & Cracker Jacks. We could bring 4 bottles into the stadium with us. Erie Zoo season pass, good for most zoos nationwide, including free admission to Cleveland Metroparks Zoo & Rainforest- $65 4 Indians tickets- $80 35 pack of bottled water- $3.49 4 snow cones at baseball game- $4.00 Nachos- $4.00 3 bags of Cracker Jacks- $4.50 (at the stadium they are $3.50 each) I truly do enjoy family events. And I don't have to take out a Home Equity Loan to do it!

So we should go back to prohibition and outlaw alcohol? We know that is in the hands of the wrong people, it is unsafe. McDonald's? We know that it is unhealthy. NFL? We know there are career threatening and potentially life threatening injuries. Walking across the street? We know people get hit by cars everyday. There are many things that will or can hurt us. Yet we still do them. Granted, nobody wants injuries, especially again at KI and on SoB. If the park came out saying that the ride was going to be: greater than ever, new and improved, or the greatest wooden coaster ever, I would agree with you. But the park has been very, very quiet about everything. If it was not for enthusiast events, we would know less than we do now. I believe that the last press release about SoB was back in mid- Demember. T-Shirts & pressed coins are nothing to be read into.

^^ Seatbelts? Yeah. that's a given. I bet there will be more garbage cans in the queue as well. Maybe a picture of a garbage can on the train too. Does anyone remember when at CP, you would go into a different section of the park and the picture on the garbage can would change for the particular major ride in that area? Those cans looked great!

To tell you the truth, I am glad there are no headrests. For rides like TTD, FoF, and Maverick- yes headrests are nice. But for a ride like Beast or Racer I never put my head back, the train shakes too much. Well, it does look as if the park is attempting to have the ride up by the 4th. That is, assuming of course, the structure tests are already done by both the state and the third party.

^ OK, I have to ask. What exactly is "slow as poop"? And tickets are not $25/ person for Jet Express. They are only $16. http://www.jet-express.com/ticketssandusky.html

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/cu...adlines-tourism IoA is going to try and be as authentic as possible? This should look fantatic when completed. This could be the biggest thing since a mouse was driving a boat!
