  1. If the rumor is not total crap........ The prints seen today may be just for a general layout, and not showing a detailed layout: i.e.: elevations, inversions, twists, etc. (yes, inversions. I do not believe KI will build a wood coaster w/o inversions.) Relax people. Banshee was blasted by naysayers when similar stuff came out, and it is a great coaster.
  2. Press conference currently scheduled for 1:00pm today: http://ktla.com/2016/06/06/cincinnati-gorilla-killing-prosecutor-to-decide-on-charges-in-shooting-of-harambe/ EDIT: No charges filed. http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2016/06/06/live-prosecutor-announces-decision-zoo-charges/85491968/
  3. So you are confirming (not denying) he took great pleasure in the comment. Ahhhh....... the hints continue.......
  4. Excellent article! Thanks for sharing on our forum!
  5. Of course it was careless and avoidable, but it happened. Was the mother careless? Yes. At one point being a parent situations like this do happen, but luckily, a large percentage do not end up like this. The zoo is not at fault, but they are being held responsible for the necessary actions taken. There is no doubt the zoo did not want to kill the animal, but due to the situation at hand, had no choice. If a trainer entered the enclosure, the animal could go into over protection mode and attempt to bring the child out of harms way which could end up killing the child. Take a look at how the animal dragged the child- much like how the animal treats their own offspring- but not a human being. Can the zoo do more? Sure. But at what cost? (which eventually falls onto you and me). Should the mother be charged? No. No malicious intent was there and as long as this is the first time it has happened, there is no reason to make a bad situation worse. The zoo did what it had to do to save the life of the child. If the child would have died, the animal would still be dead. Now there are 2 innocent lives lost.
  6. I made it to the Darien Lake death then stopped reading. I couldn't stomach the excitement of the rest of the article....... Funny how the writer is clamoring that the amusement park industry does not give patrons the full story of injury stats of rides when the writer does the same thing by not giving the full story on how the man perished.
  7. Horrible situation. Glad the boy is ok even if the correct decision was made.
  8. Falling trees? A new ride called 'Timber Tower' of course!
  9. But which coaster is it easier to hold a girls hand on??? Oh, I'm so confused!!
  10. SoB testing? Yeah. Right. I'll believe it when I see it.Now what I do believe: ScreamScape has reported that the land clearing is from a local sasquatch family setting up chairs in anticipation of witnessing work on SoB. Ah, the memories of dirt......
  11. Well looky here...... 2 new garbage men & toilet plungers for the park......

  13. Oh the "vs." thread, how I do hate thee.
  14. So in a nutshell: The dysfunction surrounding everything at the park has literally drove it past the point of no return.
  15. Shedding a little light on the situation: http://www.sharonherald.com/news/local_news/ousted-hotel-conneaut-operator-considering-court-fight-to-get-hotel/article_e4f5a348-7dac-11e5-bf5d-7b3cdbed258b.html
  16. This just smells of total deflection of the true issue(s). Was the hotel $140K in debt? According to Park Restorations-no. They have been improving the property & from what has been reported (key word) the deal was that capital improvements cost to the hotel came off of the rent due. This is similar to the trustees not having fire insurance on the Beach Club, but wanting to collect on the on the policy that Park Restorations paid for- not only for the building loss but for all the equipment Park Restorations lost as well. This whole situation just stinks to high heaven. Info on Park Restorations from years ago: http://www.pasbdc.org/success-stories/2011/06/15/park-restoration-llc
  17. Kudos to Shark for mentioning the quality of the picture. For me: we have traveled 6 hours, already spent a good amount of money, looked forward to entering the gate, discussed what ride will be first, and waited in line to get into the park. At this point I don't know who is more excited, me or the kids. Then we get asked to take time out about about getting a pic taken...... The times we have said: "Yup, let's do it!", only one time did the pic come out great. Now we were all excited about getting on the rides, took out what we consider very precious time, only to have the pic be so poor. Our attitude has become: it's a waste of time.
  18. Perhaps if the cost of the pic was more customer friendly, it would be more successful. Other than that, we just say "no thank-you" and keep on walking.
  19. It is hard to applaud an act that should have been totally in the public eye years ago. The Pepsi grant movement should have continued publicly with a constant reminder through FREE social media years ago. Way too little way too late.........
  20. The alleged is from Erie, PA. http://www.toledoblade.com/local/2015/10/22/Cedar-Point-apartment-site-of-rape-accusation.html
  21. Why is the constant reminder such a bad thing? We constantly hear about horrible situations like this. What about the ones we don't hear about? Predators like this do not stop. Ignoring it solves nothing. Not communicating to other women that it is OK to come forward is a horrible way of handling it. As a parent, I want my girls to hear about stuff like this. Hopefully they will learn to not put themselves in situations like this. You don't want to hear about it? Don't click the link.
  22. Why is this being brought up? THE GIRL IS A MINOR. She should not have been in the building- which is a MAJOR CP issue. She should not have been left alone- which is a MAJOR friend/ parent issue. She should not have been the least bit attractive to the alleged rapist. While I do believe there is always two sides of the story, I do have faith in the authorities that they would would not have taken the alleged into custody without some type of physical evidence. She was taken to the hospital to be checked out, most likely for a rape kit. Although DNA evidence will take some time, any bodily fluids present is more than enough evidence that something happened. Now, it is possible that it was not the alleged rapist is a patsy for someone else (boyfriend, sick-ass uncle etc.) but there has to be some truth to the story given she was at: "point A" with "group of people" and the "alleged". And no YOU CANNOT USE THE "ENTICING" CRAP WHEN IT INVOLVES A 14 YEAR OLD.
