  1. Absolutely correct. I will say that in my type of work (manufacturing), many things that are "wrong", start to get ignored because it becomes the "norm". When it becomes the "norm" we get desensitized to the actual problem. This is why every: state, city, township, county, WHATEVER needs an authority to oversee these moving carnivals. A 2nd set of eyes should always be required when it comes to the safety of riders. The video is graphic, but also explains what happened. Hopefully it will put the rumors to rest that this was IN NO WAY the riders' fault.
  2. And it is a two way street, I sincerely hope you understand that. Life is so much simpler when people can agree to disagree. On a side note, it was the sasquatch family that moves the piles of dirt.....
  3. But now that you defend it, you are part of the speculation. If you have issues with prudish people disagreeing with you, don't be part of an online community. Dum-da-dum-dum......
  4. Irrationally theorizing a potential is one thing, arguing rational posts for the sake of your irrational theorizing is another. As you said, this is a discussion forum. Be prepared to have disagreeing posts made about your "fun" irrational theorization(s). Your version of fun most likely is different than others. That being said: It's a dead tree with a ribbon on it. You find multiple ribbons on other trees in the area then you are on to something. It is a pile of dirt. You find the hole the dirt came from- most likely near the multiple trees with ribbons on them- then you are on to something.
  5. Taking a support beam will not do it.........
  6. I have always found it funny that many will complain about the walk back to TG/ FD/ Bat but fail to acknowledge everything requires extensive walking at any amusement park.
  7. CF tried numerous times and spent a considerable amount of money to save SoB. SoB is also one of the greatest failures in roller coaster history. CF has also made great additions to KI since the purchase. Given everything, I cannot fathom how CF "is getting back at KI". If KI would add another looping wood coaster so close to the SoB failure, the non-enthusiast will get the new coaster confused with SoB, hence why SoB was probably not considered for a RMC treatment, that is if RMC would even take the project on. There were numerous rumblings that roller coaster companies wanted nothing to do with SoB given the reputation it had.
  8. I noticed IS changing shortly after Paramount took over. First, it was the music changed to Paramount movie music, then the shops became more "corporate" as opposed to "unique".
  9. I'm sure KI has meetings that determine what land/ ride is expendable or available. When the question of removal is brought up, the answer of: how often is land/ ride used, ROI (maintenance vs. popularity), or refurbishment is discussed. If the park has not put money into something recently (basic yearly maintenance cost for safety of guests, aesthetics of area etc.) it is hard not to believe it is not on the chopping block. Does that mean Timberwolf fits in KI's future? I personally don't see how given how much it is not used.
  10. Being a local, this is fantastic news. But I'm not getting my hopes up. We have heard this same story a number of times over the past couple decades only to have the rug pulled out from under us and another restructuring is announced with new players in charge.
  11. I vaguely remember going to the circus when it was actually under a tent, not an arena. Sad day for many childhoods. We bought our girls to see it 10+ years ago & they were mesmerized. Sadly, we never thought of the animals health.
  12. ^ You are correct that 1711.551 covers that guests must follow parks signage. Page 12: http://www.agri.ohio.gov/divs/Rides/docs/Revised Ridebook.pdf
  13. I LOVE the old style log flume. I sincerely miss KCKC, WWC, etc. Waldameer in Erie, PA has a fantastic log flume, no circular moving floor (I will always be a kid at heart), but a fantastic log flume nonetheless. Along with maintenance issues and the continuing emergence of water parks, I believe space (or lack of) has influenced many removals of log flumes. Their footprint is typically so large, a coaster or multiple rides can be put in their place. And as much as I hate to admit it, water rides have some of the smallest capacity numbers due to the weather, cool mornings/ nights etc.
  14. Thank-you to the KIC admins for all your efforts!
  15. I REALLY like the desktop version. I REALLY dislike the mobIle version. It does not seem "clean".
  16. I'll never understand the obsession with the removal of rides. Especially good ones......
  17. So if both Wiki and Screamscape post a rumor it is legitimate?
  18. Interesting topic. I gotta ask: What makes a rumor "legitimate"?
  19. Drinking out of someone's else's cup turns my stomach. I can't imagine how hard up someone has to be to want to steal an unwashed cup and use it. Can't fix stupid.
  20. And another smh moment: http://dailysnark.com/nfl-bans-fans-ordering-jerseys-using-harmabe-last-name/ Kudos to NFL shop for the decision, and *darn* PEOPLE!!!!! WHO IN THEIR RIGHT FREAKING MIND WANTS A JERSEY LIKE THIS?????
  21. Doesn't the host park normally get an award similar to CP's this year?
  22. So my daughter's 8th grade class is deciding on their end of year class trip. Some said CP. Some said Kennywood. Others said Darien Lake. And then some mentioned Cincy Zoo because of Harambe being a national hero...... smh

  24. This is the evils of social media. Everyone has their own way of dealing with issues: anger, frustration, hold it in, humor etc. But can any one of truly know of how the other emotionally feels through what is written? I have been called out on numerous occasions for being mean but I was "attempting" to be sarcastic/ humorous and honestly trying to make light of a difficult subject. Yes, it is easy to see someone trolling for emotional responses, but for others, it may be their way of handling things. Social media brings out the best in some, and the worst in most. Some are gonna be idiots, but our options are: hunt them down & stone them, or get rid of social media. .... and I doubt social media is going anywhere.
