Frequently Asked Questions | Kings Island https://www.visitkingsisland.com/help/frequently-asked-questions All drones (Unmanned Aerial Systems) are prohibited at (in) all Cedar Fair parks, including Kings Island, and any unauthorized drone(s) observed over Kings Island will be reported to the FAA and local law enforcement, regardless of its point of origin or operation. Highlighted for emphasis. Aside from what is seen above, the footage does go over KI property & quite possibly over 400 ft. due to looking down at both the construction cranes & ET. That being said, splitting hairs to argue just for the sake of argument is pointless when it comes to KIC. If the park considers it wrong, then it is wrong and KIC will only be on the losing end. It's just not worth it.
-
There have been numerous events KIC was invited to, but as Bodda pointed out, changes in KI management have unfortunately changed. This is why continued respect for: the park, KIC admins (which are volunteers), and those with experienced first hand knowledge of the park is so critical for KIC to flourish. Management at KI definitely scroll through KIC pages. If the few KIC members that are constantly disrespecting those people/ groups, it gives the park no reason to include KIC for KI events knowing of the potential public backlash if something does not go the way of those so critical of KIC/ KI I am not suggesting you personally have done anything at all (as this really needs to be said more often than it is), but, there is a fine line between enthusiast and those who feel they are entitled because they are an enthusiast. I love living in Erie, I just don't enjoy the snowstorms that can produce 6' of snow in 36 hours........
-
KIC needs to keep a working relationship with the park. If there is the slightest inclination that the footage was illegally taken, it should be removed from KIC.
-
Too often those on social media that feel they know more than the average enthusiast only to find out they know a small amount will attempt to point out what they hope is the inadequacy of those who contribute intelligent information.
-
The webcams being down is incredibly frustrating because I want to see everything going on. vs. KI's incompetence is upsetting the public so much season pass sales will suffer.
-
I can certainly agree with bias in opinions, but he was also objective with providing facts.
-
Please provide evidence for this claim.
-
Webcam footage is not part of the cost of a season pass. If purchasing a season pass is being determined by off-season webcam accessibility, the customer is looking for a reason to be upset.

Just because the company slogan is "Demolition Specialists since 1962" does not mean that is all they do as these do not fall under the "demolition" category. HISTORICAL PRESERVATION / SALVAGEENVIRONNMENTAL SERVICESWASTE MANAGEMENT / RECYCLING / LEEDEXCAVATION / SITE WORK Why didn't they take Firehawk down? I don't know if they did or not but if not, there numerous reasons with two of the top being cost & availability. Shaggy has been an incredible & reliable contributor to KIC for a many years. I have not met Shaggy personally, but have tremendous respect for him due to the accuracy & detail of his contributions. -

You are correct. Take a look at the SkyHigh page under projects, they have done deconstruction on King Chaos at SFGA. -

For an enthusiast perhaps not, from a business perspective, it is completely practical. Any contractor cannot be shoe-horned into a single aspect of construction. There just is not enough business to support it. -

Vortex's removal is part of the long term plan for KI. This can be confirmed with knowing the same firm that is assembling Orion will be disassembling Vortex. -
So it wasn't a great ride?
-
Have any examples?
-
Many comments surrounding DT @ CP were along the lines of: "man that ride sucks! The building is ugly too!" But when the queue line was used primarily for HH: "That is a good haunt."
-
If the ride is great on the inside, nobody will care what the building looks like on the outside.
-
Knights Inn is very inexpensive- but don't expect too much, you get what you pay for.
-
There are so many variables, I would assume there would be data that is needed to be crunched such as: Time chain lift motor is running/ amount of train cycles (train weight)/ amount of passengers (additional weight). I also assume that the chain slack would be checked periodically and once x-links are removed due to stretching the chain is replaced. I'm sure I oversimplified the process, but you get the idea.

Good business practice, especially concerning publicly traded companies, is to listen to all offers. But it doesn't mean it's going to happen. It's interesting that this news would be leaked. Or was it leaked with an ulterior motive for public/ customer backlash to squash it?? Easier to say no to a deal if most are not behind it......
