  1. I personally thought her: "Why are you commenting on this, I don't know you" attitude was pure humor. So; post on FB for all to see, those who agree- please comment, those who disagree- I don't know you, why are you commenting? I also find it VERY funny that people have NO IDEA how to get information until AFTER they leave the park upset with a: perk, policy, price, etc., but know how to use a computer and voice a negative opinion on FB. Social media sites have to be a nightmare to customer service reps.

  4. ^ Now that makes sense.
  5. Honestly, the 3-7 age group does not surprise me. At age 7 my daughters could not enjoy rides with a 48" height requirement. Age 8 was the magic number. The same goes with wearing life jackets at the yacht club; age 7 & under had to wear a jacket. Other websites (Old Country Buffet, TGI Fridays, Eat-N-Park) also do not have ages listed, which is also surprising. Given the age is not listed on the website, or where you would purchase tickets on the site, would have certainly raised a red flag for me during the trip planning stages & a phone call to the park would have been made.
  6. ^ It was already mentioned in the press release the removal is for future expansion. I anticipate something BIG to take the place of SoB.
  7. Give FEMA more credit than that. The announcement is 5 days away, FEMA would be there in 4.
  8. Was the entire comment deleted? I can't seem to find it. (I wanted to back you up!) EDIT- Found it.
  9. It's FB. Blow. It. Off.
  10. ^I like when parks do that. Same thing happend on our honeymoon at Disney. The ToT car we were in broke down & had to be manually pushed out. The ride ops gave us an option of going to the front of any line at MGM. We chose ToT again.
  11. I am not going to claim to have first hand knowledge of KI's taxes, so the following is just an observation. If KI is taxed like most businesses, the more structures that occupy the taxed land, the more the landowner is taxed.
  12. I can vividly remember WWC having seatbelts, even in 1985. Are you sure you are not getting confused with KCKC?
  13. JUMP!
  14. ^ It has a hand crank. This was used recently at CP. http://www.wkyc.com/news/article/246912/3/WindSeeker-strands-Cedar-Point-guests-in-midair
  15. Ok. You are boring.
  16. Each ride is unique (i.e.: ride itself, terrain, park, manufacturer, insurer, state, inspector, etc. Combinations of each also need to be considered.), thus each will have a unique safety guideline. There will be no one overall rhyme or reason for the decisions made.

  18. Watch it be a large swing ride that will break some obscure "East Coast Amusement Park" record. Just guessing.....
  19. Just because you don't hear about it, does not mean it does not happen.
  20. I have learned two new things today.....
  21. August 14th, 2003From Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_blackout_of_2003
  22. It was a couple colors under "Top Gun", not just red.
  23. So when the ride name changed, the ride itself changed?I learned something new today!
  24. Honestly, it's splitting hairs, and I'm pretty sure we all understand what was meant. One could bring up an example that the train was at the block brake, with the brakes actuating as the train is passing, then the power going out causing the brakes to be in the normal closed state. Power loss=brakes to engage.
  25. The anti rollbacks on coasters as well as MCBR on coasters are designed so that generators are not necessary. The last thing a park would want (does not mean can't) to do is operate a ride on generator power. This is one of the many reasons both areas of coasters are equipped with emergency exit stairs/ ladders etc. You may find some rides (i.e. sky/ lift rides, MF) that have a back-up generator. Unfortunately, these generators often fail due to lack of use which is why most rides are designed without a generator in mind and also have the ability to use a hand crank. Other rides like Giant Wheel @ CP have to be literally pushed around (20+ employees) to have all the guests exit safely: here is the trick: the guests have to be removed in a "balance" fashion or the wheel would start moving on it's own & then would have to wait until it came to a stop. Many of these emergency exit procedures were experienced in the 2003 blackout.
