Teen girl with no hands turned away at Universal/SeaWorld
This is a very touchy subject, one that there are no winners and also one that has many victims- including parks. Interpretations of rules is difficult for everyone to agree on. What I believe is one way is most likely different for someone else. I'm sure this particular park visitor is more than capable of handling herself on the ride like everyone else given she has lived with this unfortunate condition her whole life. The ride attendants have no way of knowing this (how could they?). Their safest decision is to not allow her to ride. Sure, she was allowed sometime ago. It was a mistake, everyone makes them. What about the park visitor that has casts on both hands? Are both visitors to be treated the same, or is each visitor different? I want everyone to remember the Darian Lake visitor that fell out of the train last year that had no legs. Nobody wants to live with the memory that as a ride attendant, poor judgement was used. Safety is top priority. If Kraken broke down and riders had to be escorted down the lift hill, could she hold on to the railings? I have no idea, and I'm sure anyone that does not know her either can honestly say yes. I agree with Jcgoble3 that the family should be recognized for not seeking monetary damages. But I do question why they did not ask the question of being able to ride before getting in line before every ride. That would have certainly solved the embarrassment issue.

2011 Hawker Wooden Coaster Poll
Although I am not a fan of these polls, it is nice to see Ravine Flyer II from little Waldameer in Erie, PA get some love.

Flight Deck Possibly Broken? Your Opinion?
OTSR will often tighten during a ride giving the rider a feeling of the restraint moving. Don't worry, it didn't loosen.

Next to KCKC, I would rather the 'tiques come back more than any ride removed, or SBNO, at KI.

What`s next for Son of Beast?
Given the $30 million already spent, combined with the $10 million spent on TG for the "rehab", another $7 million is not out that much more considering SoB is much larger (length & height) than TG. Even without the TG treatment, SoB (initial cost & years of "fixes") is/ was one of the most expensive coasters in the World. Pouring more money into a product that will always have question marks (as well as blackmarks) just does not make financial sense.

While I agree that SoB is not a high priority, the examples you gave were planned many years ago, while SoB being closed down was not in the plans. Capital for an SoB project (re-do or taer down) will be significant and needs to be planned for at least two years.

Should old SoB be forgotten, And never brought to mind? Should old SoB be forgotten, And days of long ago ! We two have run about the helices And pulled the loop out, But we have wandered many a weary foot For old long ago. We two have rolled (crashed) into the station From April until Fall time, But enthusiasts among us have roared Since old long ago. And there is a hand, a neck, a broken sternum my trusty friend, And give us no support, And we will take a goodwill Aleve (for pain) For old long ago! And surely you will pay for that pain, And surely I will smile as you come down! And we will take the vision of a great coaster yet For old long ago!

Enthusiasts visit the park easily more often during a season than anyone else. Guests that visit the park 1-2 times per year will typically see "new" things and don't sweat the small stuff. For enthusiasts that visit 6+ times per year, there is nothing new to see, and typically look for things to change.

What`s next for Son of Beast?
This reason is, at best, vague. It sounds more of a personal hope than a reason. As opposed to 15+ years ago, records are a minor part of a ride's attraction today. The competition for -est between parks became so tainted (i.e. highest full circut coaster, fastest coaster in midwest, most coasters at one park) and changed so often, it has turned off guests. Also- you really need a more in depth explanation than safety as to why SoB closed? And there has been no notice of SoB being closed? Really? You must be joking.... The last time a park goer did zero planning and traveled down the holiday road; a moose was assaulted, park security was treated like a dog with another park security member being shot in the behind with a BB gun. Why not? What does a SBNO ride hurt? Other parks have down the same thing. How does anyone know what is in line next for an update/ remodel, and, if an update/ remodel did happen to be true for AZ, you believe KI has waited to work on SoB for the supposed update/ remodel date? I can sense your frustration with a ride that can be seen, but not enjoyed, but honestly, grasping onto dream scenarios is a set-up for disappointment.

Universal To Close 'Jaws' Attraction
As terrible as it seems to be, today's younger generation does not (and really can't) find the allure of Jaws to be exceptional as the generation that can recall the 1975 movie when it first came out much like Beast is considered to be a great ride by many of the older generation KI fans but is a over-hyped coaster by many of today's enthusiasts. I was shocked to find out Jaws and Amity area at Universal did have a $65 million price tag back in 1990.

Is that anything like: Some people grasp at straws to live a dream. Seriously. We heard you the first time you said you loved the ride. We don't need to heart it 95 times! We get it already. Why do you even post in here if you are going to just going to regurgitate the same rumors? Can't we all just agree to disagree and move on.

Kingsisland.com is down
Thinking outside the box: they can simply use: "visit us at www.visitkingsisland.com", "find us at www.visitkingsisland.com", "click on www.visitkingsisland.com for more information" etc., etc. While using "www." maybe old, it can easily solve this minor problem.

PETA Accuses SeaWorld Of Animal Slavery
PETA is certainly fighting a battle with SeaWorld that will only make them look even worse than they already do. SeaWorld (and all formerly owned Busch parks) have been, and still are, very animal friendly. Not only do they have conservation funds set-up, they are among the Worldwide leaders in animal preservation & education. It is too bad PETA uses the media to make a fantastic organization look bad for publicity. If anything, PETA should be praising SeaWorld for they have accomplished & learned through ther years.

Kinzel recives key to the city
And this type of party is different than other companies have done? Budgets are approved by more people than just the CEO for these types of events. Nobody makes all the perfect decisions. I have no problem with looking at all his accomplishments, good and bad, and still find his end result to be overwhelmingly positive.
